'Find / Replace' window does not appear.
When I press the 'find/replace' menu, the find window does not appear.

Bug: Quality issue when exporting 72dpi jpg from InDesign
Sudden quality issue especially around text when exporting 72dpi jpg from InDesign vs exporting 300dpi jpg from InDesign then opening in PS, downsizing to 72dpi and exporting as jpg again. Mainly on Vector text but also noticable in images especially when creating gifs. Noticeable pixelation around text edges.

Running macOS Monterey on Mac Studio 2022 & Latest InDesign 17.4.
Has only happened since the latest software update. This happened a few months back…

Hyperlink alt text is ignored in the latest version of Indesign
When creating or editing a hyperlink there is an option to add alt text. If you add alt text to your link and export an accessible PDF the alt text is ignored. I have a document with a ton of hyperlinks that all need alt text which we have added but don't come through because of this bug. Now I'm forced to add them again to the PDF.
19 votesAccording to the ISO-32000, the Hyperlinks are NOT supposed to be populated into the Alt-Text field. They should be entered into the Contents Key (see attachment) instead.
InDesign currently does place them in the correct place [see screenshot attached].
While someone using Acrobat can also add them to the Alt-text field, this is technically less correct than entering into the Contents key but either will pass an Accessibility checker.InDesign implemented this correctly based on the above information (provided by Accessibility experts, like Dax Castro, thanks Dax).

Would make my job much more efficient if there were an emoji keyboard available natively in the software.

I'm in InDesign 17.1. File names under Recent Files are overlapping and become illegible. Restarting the device and application doesn't solve this issue.

Layer Menu not showing drop down
I have a number of Layer menus in my presentation template with choices under each category. When I click the > arrow to hide or show the contents the meun items do not appear.

Parent Text Frame Offset when Autoflowing Text
When autoflowing text, the parent page text frame is being offset on every new page that's automatically added.
In the attached screenshot, the top page was manually added and text autoflowed into it from the previous page. The parent text frame is positioned as per the top page.
InDesign versions 17 to 19 (2022 to 2024).
Expect parent page text frame to be in the position it is in on the parent page.
Actual result: text frame is offset and has to be repositioned on every page manually.1 vote -
Erreur d'importation excel
Bonjour,
Les tableaux Excel ne sont plus importés correctement depuis la version 2020. Les valeurs non numériques caculées sont remplacées par -1.
Ce la fonctionne sur la version 2019.merci d'apporter un correctif de toute urgence ou nous apporter une solution.

Locked Files in InDesign 16 (CC2021) + MacOS 10.14 (Mojave) + special Character Filenames on SMB Share
When opening Files with special characters (german umlauts like äöü) on a SMB Network Share with MacOS 10.14 + InDesign 16 (sometimes on 2nd try) I get a "Document can't be opened, permission problem or already opened" (translated by me).
When downgrading to InDesign 15 or Upgrading to a newer OSX the problem is gone. But I am bound to that Versions because of hardwarecompatibility, so it would be nice to have a fix for that.
I can see, that InDesign 15 on Mojave and InDesign 16 on newer MacOS Versions is creating a lockfile, but InDesign 16 + Mojave…

PDF Export InDesign 17.2.x
InDesign 17.2.1.

72 DPI images not placing at 100%, scaling to 216 DPI
This has apparently been a discussion since at least 2019 and has not yet found a solution:
When placing certain jpg images saved to 72 DPI, In Design frequently places them at 1/3 actual size, or down to 216 DPI. This is including if the ID document's increments/document size are set to pixels. It seems most common with jpgs saved in a standard "Save As" format from Photoshop vs. the legacy "Save for Web."

InDesign export file location resets every time
InDesign export seems to have been a bit broken in the latest release.
When exporting a PDF, InDesign forgets the previous file location and working file location, prompting me to export to the desktop every time.
I'm seeing this behaviour on both of my Macbook Pros. Both are 2019 16" laptops running MacOS Monterey.
Is anyone else seeing this behaviour?

[ID 17.2.20] Import xlsx spreadsheet: formatted numbers are truncated

Excel 16.58 (16.58.22021501)When importing an Excel sheet as a table, every number is truncated before the first thousand separator (which is a space in French).

Format replacements are not counted (0 replacement(s) done when formats are changed)
Searching for double line breaks and changing the indentation to 0. It says 0 replacement(s) done, but the condition is in fact found, and the "first indent" is indeed set to 0. See attached screen shots.
Is this behaviour deliberate, since no text contents is changed, only formatting?1 vote -
Can't click through InDesign to desktop or other app + InDesign list panels tilt
When I click on panel boxes to adjust values like font size, transparency, color tone etc, InDesign list panels (swatches, fonts etc) tilt and list elements slip away from mouse selection like they were magnetic.
Can't exit from InDesign window (mouse click to desktop or other apps doesn't work). Functionality can be restored only by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Canc and then Esc.InDesign version: 16.4.2 (and earlier versions)

crash split layout view
InDesign (randomly) crashes when copying/pasting from one view to the other in split layout view.
At this time I'm working on a Windows 10 machine with InDesign 17.3 installed, but I've had this isue already for years, going back to InDesign 14. The problem occured also on Mac machines with Sierra and Catalina installed.I can't timely reproduce the issue, it happens randomly, but always with split layout view in use. Only today InDesign crashed already 7 times while I was working in split layout view.

Page display distortion – psychedelic patterns
Page distortion when editing or resizing. Usual clears when changing pages or screen magnification. Becoming more frequent with version 17.3, using macOS 12.4.

Indesign published document - not listed on the 'publish online dashboard'
Yesterday I published a presentation and shared it with the client - this morning I went to view analytics for the published document in my online dashboard but it's not listed there. The published document I shared is still working but I have no way to see the analytics for the document. I've tried clearing browser history, signing out of indesign and refreshing browser many times but no change. I can see the other documents that I published yesterday that I don't need the analytics for.
Any suggestions or solutions please? Is this a known bug?
