1. InDesign responsiveness is very slow

   All the adobe apps are working fine aside from InDesign. It keeps on crashing when I am working and when it is not, the response is so slow. Tried to re-install but did not really help at all.

2. InDesign Effects applied directly to Text do not update when the text is changed

   Some effects that are applied directly to the text do not update when the text is changed. If the same effect is assigned to the text frame (object), this error does not occur. Switching to GPU Preview or GPU Acceleration on the Mac or turning off the same option has no effect on the error.

   Windows 10 mit InDesign Version 16.2.1 x64, only a time delay is noticeable.

   On Mac
   Mac OS Catalina Version 10.15.7 mit InDesign 2021, 16.4
   Mac OS Catalina Version 10.15.7 mit InDesign 2022, 17.0
   the effect remains for the old text until you save the file and open it again.

   Mac OS Mojawe Version 10.14.6, InDesign CS6 - not CC, no Problems occur, effects are deactivated while changing text and applied new after editing.

3. Caption Metadata in Text Variables

   InDesign version 17.3
   A Metadata Caption set in Text Variables can be on a layer separate from an image. In my workflow, this is good!

   Unfortunately, InDesign treats images on layers that are turned off as if they are on, and hence a text box containing a Metadata Caption is presented with multiple images to read from and delivers the message <Multiple intersecting links>.

   I discovered this by having a square image on one layer and a 4:3 image on another layer, a layer turned off. When the text box containing the caption touched the top or bottom of the image, it worked, but when moved to the center of the image or the sides, the caption text disappeared, replaced by the message <Multiple intersecting links>. It did not matter if the text box containing the caption was on the same layer as the image or on a separate layer.

4. Nach Update fehlt die Möglichkeit ein Bild im Text zu verankern

   Seit dem Update auf InDesign 17.3. fehlt all meinen Bildrahmen das kleine grüne Kästchen das man zur Verankerung von Grafiken in Texten verwenden konnte. Auch das Einfügen eines verankerten Bilder per rechten Mausklick funktioniert nicht mehr. Vor zwei Tagen war die Funktion noch wie gewohnt vorhanden. Gibt es evtl. einen ShortCut, um diese Funktion wieder zu aktivieren oder die Möglichkeit die Software darauf hin zurück zusetzen, dass die gewohnte Funktion wieder vorhanden ist?

   Leider kann ich außerdem in diesem Webformular mit dem unten stehenden Button weder PNG-Dateien noch JPG-Dateien uploaden, um ihnen ein Bild von meinem Problem zu zeigen :-( Fehlermeldung: "The following files are not supported and have been removed:

6. Display settings affect Epub output

   I just spent a couple of hours trying to figure out why one of my images (placed Illustrator file) was pixelating in EPub output. The same image is placed in 6 places, and only in three of those instances was the output incorrect. Image is identically placed in all six instances (size and scaling), the link is valid (not missing), and all export settings were correct. As a last resort troubleshooting this, I realized that in the three locations that were pixelated, the display setting for those three was set to Typical rather than High Quality. I set them to High Quality and lo and behold the export was fixed.

   I've never seen this happen before and I know that it's not supposed to happen at all, but in this case it was definitely the problem. I'm assuming it's a bug, but whether it's repeatable or not I don't know. Unfortunately, I can't send the file in question for analysis because the content is sensitive and proprietary but wanted to report it anyway in case others are having the same problem.

7. importing multiple illustrator artboards into empty frames no longer works

   With the 2021 version of indesign I could 'load' my cursor with an illustrator file and select 'all' artboards, then i could 'drop' each artboard into an empty indesign frame - this no longer works in the 2022 version (17.2). Instead it just drops the first image in and the loaded cursor 'cancels'.

8. Switching between Cross Reference "Link To" types causes Crash

   Edition Windows 10 Enterprise

   OS build 19042.1706

   Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1185G7 @ 3.00GHz

   1. New Hyperlink Destination: saved a Text Anchor (paragraph includes a graphic so I don't want to use the Cross Reference > Link To Paragraph option in this instance.)
   2. Cross-References palette hamburger
   3. Insert Cross-Reference...
   4. Change Link To from Paragraph to Text Anchor and it crashes. (I want to use Cross Reference instead of Hyperlink so it will include dynamic page number.)

   See attached crash reports and screenshots (you'll know which goes with which by time indicated in file names).

   This is super frustrating and is hindering the project's progress. Please fix/stabilize soon.

9. Parent page issues Indesign 2022

   Facing page document using 4 parent pages. All pages become left pages when converting to single pages. This has never happened in over 20 years of working in Indesign.

10. Bug: Cross-ref tooltip changes arbitrarily

    Windows 10, Indesign 17.1
    What happens: when checking cross-refs for pointing to other documents only the tooltip can help. The video shows that the cross-refs are pointing to level 3 or level 4 headlines, but only with the level 4 headline it would show on what page the cross-ref is placed. With level 3 it just shows the cross-ref text.

11. Tab order window is not resizable

    I design a lot of long forms inside of InDesign. Part of this process is getting the tab order correct. The Tab Order window only displays 9 rows and is not resizable. This makes at a glance review of the tab order impossible.

    Additionally, dragging and dropping rows above/below each other is broken. The blue line that signifies where I am about to drag something to does not always match up with where the drop actually happens. Sometimes it can be above another field.

    Similarly, if I move a block of rows at once, the view of the window will revert to the top of all of tabs, regardless of where in the list I'm looking. This is extremely frustrating when you just want to move a block of tabs one or two places, but have to do it blindly.

    Please make the tab order window resizable.

12. Indesign 2021 (16.0) IDLK file do not lock

    It is currently possible that two users are able to open the same Indesign file. I am working on a network volume via VPN and it was possible for my colleague to open the same file i was working with. The *.idlk file was generated but it seems that it would not be recognized from the other Indesign my colleague was using.

    I tried to reproduce this issuue with Indesign 2020 and all worked fine as expected.

    This is an enormous issue for collaboration with other colleagues at the same projects.

    The fix of the issue is now available in the latest InDesign 2022(v17.0.0.96). We recommend you upgrade to the latest version for the fix.

13. pages panel scrollbar and accents in spanish

    Hi. indesign 17.3 has been giving a lot of problems lately. The page panel has no sidebar to scroll down and up. There are pages that go blank and I have to restart the program to get the information back. If I type text, the Spanish accents "'" appear in triplicate. Could you please solve these problems?

15. Frame Fitting options missing

    Recently, Frame fitting options are not showing in full, i have tried InDesign 'reset' multiples , the issues is not solved.
    This happens irrespective of documents .

16. Problem with *.wmf files in InDesign 16.3

    I've got a file with many equations created in MathType, exported as *.wmf files and placed in Adobe In Design. Until today everything was fine. But after a new update to version 16.3 all my equations were destroyed. In the attachment I'm sending the same page exported to PDF before and after update. Please help me.

17. Indesign can't search tagged folders

    Indesign (17.1 Build) will wrongly show empty folders when I select a Finder tagged folder.

    What can I do? I need this function. It's a big timesaver.

18. Roboto fonts not working in indesign

    I have tried everything to add Roboto fonts to creative cloud to be used in InDesign but nothing works. First, I click on the "f" in the upper right hand corner, and it just spins and spins saying loading. The next thing I tried was going to Adobe Fonts website and 'Activiating all Robot Fonts." Even though it shows as activated, Whenever I try to export my design it says following fonts (Roboto family) aren't currently available.

19. Cross reference forces line break

    1. Indesign 17 and 16
    2. Write text in textbox. Insert cross reference close to the text box right boundary.
    3. I expect the cross reference to fit that line
    4. It is forced to line break.
    5. See attached files (red arrow).
    6. The problem does not occur when using Adobe World-Ready Paragraph Composer but when using (the normal) Adobe Paragraph Composer.

20. InDesign 2021 keeps crashing

    InDesign has crashed about 5 times since updating the other day. My team is also having the same problem. Mac and PC.
