1. Ligatures

   I loaded the Adobe InDesign CC Ap from Creative cloud, version 14.0.2 x64. The file I had used before now has missing text! Specifically the "fl" in the Active Ingredients list "Isoxaflutole" which now appears as Isoxa utole" throughout the whole book with empty space for the "fl". Even the word "flowables" appears as " owables".

   The file seems to have "Ligatures" checked in the character palette which I did not check. I'm using Helvetica fonts.
   Any suggestion as to how to get my text back? See attached files.

2. When applying underline feature to TateChuYoko, the underline doesn't show

   When applying underline feature to TateChuYoko characters, the underline doesn't show. It means, the underline feature is set correctly, but it does not appear against TateChuYoko characters. We’ve struggled to this bug for a long time. As workaround, we have to create Anchor objects for TateChuYoko characters, or to put stroke lines instead of underline. These workarounds waste a lot of time. Please fix this ASAP.ASAP.

3. -100% shows up as blank cell

   When you import a table into InDesign, if you have -100% in a cell it will show up as a blank cell.

4. missing fonts

   CC 2019 - MISSING FONT MESSAGE OPENING FILES

   InDesign files opened on pc's after upgrading to Windows ver1809 cannot load fonts - upon opening file, missing fonts error with option to substitute fonts. The same files will open correctly on Windows ver1803 pc's. These results can be duplicated on multiple pc's.

5. InDesign files from CC to CS6 - hypenation won't work anymore

   In advance:
   - Our external writers send us InDesign CC files (idml and indd)
   - We open and save them in InDesign CS6
   - Our customers use InDesign CS6

   1. Version:
      InDesign CS6 8.0
      InDesign CC from 12.0 to 14.0.2 (others not tested)

   2. Steps:
      Since when: between 10 and 17. April 2019 (last time it worked on 10. April 2019)

   2.a Open InDesign CC (any version, i tested 12.0, 13.1, 14.0.1 and 14.0.2)
   2.b Save a file with activated hypenation (either indd or idml, both tested)
   2.c Open either one of 2.b. in CS6

   1. Expected result:
      Hypenation works as usual in CS6. Text fits frames.

   2. Actual result:

   3. Hypenation doesn't work in CS6 which resluts in text frames having overflow

   4. Test files and information:
      Already tested:

   5. de- and reactivating hypenation in CS6

   6. checking for "no break" option

   7. checking every used paragraph- and character-format

   8. checking user dictionary options

   9. checking language options

   10. checking autocorrection options

   11. saved the file as idml and indd in CC 12.0, 13.1, 14.0.1, 14.0.2 and then opened it in CS6

   12. contacted support

   In advance:

6. Cross reference formats

   Indesign 13.1, Windows
   When editing a cross reference format there is a button to insert special characters such as "opening simple quotation mark" and "closing simple quotation mark" which should look like ,this'. Instead, the resulting opening character is an asterisk (*) and the closing character is a plus (+) -> *this+

7. Footnote marker is replaced with an unknown character if preceded by a character with a specific Unicode pattern

   Footnote marker is replaced with an unknown character if preceded by a character with a specific Unicode pattern. Unicode pattern is U+##1a. Here are some of those characters:

   U+011a
   U+021a
   U+031a
   U+041a
   U+051a
   U+061a
   U+071a
   U+081a

   You could try the attached test file for placement in to an InDesign document. Unicode of the character following the footnote marker is : U+011a

   This happen when file format of the file is either RTF or DOC. Its not a issue with DOCX.

8. Endnotes in text flow - Not on a separate page

   Import endnotes as plain text in the text flow. NOT on a separate page! How hard is this to understand? I groom text in one document and then copy and paste the magazine article/book chapter into another Indesign file. I can't do this if you put the endnotes in a separate text flow. It's really terrible! Dynamic notes has just been a complete failure!

9. No Font Spacing Between Words in InDesign 2019 14.0.x-2 on Mojave 10.14.x-4, Works fine in InDesign 2014 (v10.0.70) on Yosemite (10.10.5)

   So, we've had this issue on our new MacBook Pro running macOS Mojave v10.14.4 ever since last year in August when we were on High Sierra (what came with the Mac).

   Basically, InDesign is unusable with Gujarati Sangam MN on the 2019 version but on 2014 (v10.0.0.70) version on my old Mac (OS X Yosemite, v10.10.5) it works fine.

   What's causing this issue?

   We've tried the following:

   • Contacted Adobe & Apple support: Apple said to contact Adobe, Adobe was unhelpful, they suggested we look up if the font was installed it it is on the new Mac using Font book.

   • Updated Adobe InDesign 2019 to 14.0.2.

   • Arial seems to work, so maybe it's something to do with this font on new Macs or InDesign 2019?

   • Unrelated (because CC was showing trial expired from dropdown but a new account let us test the new update for 7 days, still same issue): https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/limited_access_repair_tool.html#

   Also noticed some images aren't rendering properly coming from Adobe InDesign 2014 to 2019.

   We simply cannot buy InDesign 2019/CC if this issue hasn't been fixed or can't be fixed.

   PS: Is there a way to move all the font options back to the top of the window like in InDesign 2014, rather than on the right?

   Adobe InDesign 2014 on old Mac Yosemite 10.10.5, renders fine (I made the file in this version and have been working with it ever since):

   As you can see the spacing between words is perfectly fine, very annoying how Adobe InDesign 2019 isn't accomodating for this out of the box.

   Any how, I'm thinking of just choosing a template from Adobe Stock templates to redesign this resume, since it's proving so problematic and is due to a refresh. This current resume I designed from scratch in Adobe 2014, but it doesn't seem that portable to 2019 version.

10. Fonts menu selection doesn't work well (it skips some fonts randomly)

    On a 2011 27" iMac 3,1 Ghz with SSD drive, with the last High Sierra and InDesign CC 2019 (14.0.2) versions, the fonts selection menu doesn't work well. Please see attached video. This is really annoying because it seems to happen randomly. Thanks for your help. Regards.

11. Pasted text acquires overprint attribute

    Copying a number of items from one document to another, all of the text that did not have an outline had its overprint attribute turned on, despite being off in the source file. It was particularly annoying to fix because most of the text was white (Paper swatch), for which the overprint setting is uneditable: I had to turn all the white text to a different colour, uncheck the overprint, then make it white again. (Using InDesign v14.0.2 on Mac OS v10.12.6.)

    IMO there should never be a reason to overprint items using the Paper swatch anyway, so this attribute should get turned off rather than just being disabled, which has the effect of ‘locking in’ the current state no matter how inappropriate.

12. ID 14.0.2: Fonts menu STILL collapses while browsing through the list of fonts.

    The bug happens with my personnal font collection. So far I haven't used TypeKit. I'm using FontXplorer 6.0.6. Last High Sierra version on a iMac 3,1 Ghz Late 2011.

    On top of that, the font selection tool skips some fonts while browsing the fontlist.

    This is an ABSOLUTE nightmare.

13. TEXT EDIT

    When I try to edit text I now always have to double click on text box twice as the first time doesn't work. This is incredibly frustrating and time consuming. I have tried all of the suggestions on the adobe forums including re-installing and turning off type contextual controls but nothing works. A separate issue that has come up is my InDesign keeps crashing when i try to add rows to a table.

14. hypen text

    In french, in compound words (like Pyrénées-Orientales) wraping mst be made only after the hypen. Wehn I use wrapping, InDesign wrap the word (for exemple Pyrénées-Orien-tales). Is it possible to have the choise, in the wrapping parameters, not to cut the compound words?
    I use InDesign 14;0;2 on Windows 7.

15. roman punctuation

    It would be great if InDesign had a Roman punctuation (hanging punctuation) option similar to Illustrator, where it was set with a toggle. The optical alignment in Story is useful; however, the Illustrator implementation of hanging punctuation is useful in many situations, too.

    This issue was present in an earlier version of InDesign. Please confirm if you are facing this bug with InDesign version 14.0.2

17. text color not selected in swatches

    In both these images the text selected is black fill (100% K) with no stroke, but the text color is displaying both fill and stroke as NONE. in one instance the paragraph style is overridden, but the other example the paragraph style of 100% K fill is NOT overridden.

18. Drag or transform creates unwanted duplicate of object

    Moving any object (text, image, etc) with either the Move tool or Direct Selection tool creates a duplicate without having any other keys pressed (eg, option/alt).
    Also when repositioning an object with Properties > Transform it also creates a duplicate of the object.

19. Burmese character composing

    InDesign ME CC 14.0.1
    WorldScript doesn't compose Burmese Unicode characters correctly, shifting the location of some characters and not positioning some accents correctly, do you have a plan to fix this as it has been like it for a long time?? Other languages like Lao and Khmer have been fixed over time, but not Burmese.

20. Copying Table content from Excel to Indesign leaves the first row blank. Why?

    Hello,

    InDesign has a strange behavior when copying content from an Excel Table to an InDesign table. When I mark the rows it copies the content not in the first row, instead it leaves it blank and starts with the second one. So all the content moves one row lower than I want.

    This is a very annoying behavior which makes working with tables really difficult and uncomfortable. Can you please fix this?
