Typing over selected numbers doesn't work the first time in ID v 19.2
ID v 19.2 won't let my team type over a selected number the first time we try, we have to press the number on our keyboard a couple of times for it to update. In previous versions of ID we didn't have to press a number on our keyboard twice for it to type over a selection.

Unable to drag & drop one character
This task can only be done by selecting two or more characters.
When I need to drag, e.g. a colon to the next word, it doesn't work!1 vote -
version 19.2 x64. The version update lost my language setting (English-Hebrew).
The English-Hebrew setting was lost during the last few updates, which removed the ability to create bullets with a hanging indent. A minus value in the first line indent always led to an error. It was solved by uninstalling and re-installing, which then gave me the text direction options again. So a workaround is possible, but it must be done every time I update.

Typing after pasting
When pasting text in a story, the first character typed after pasting doesn’t work. For example, if I paste the character “s” then try to type “port” (so it becomes “sport”), it will only start typing at the “o,” so I will have “sort” instead of “sport.”
I have this problem on my MacBook Air as well as on a Windows machine, so it’s not an OS issue

Hide blue L brackets onscreen in endnotes
Need a way to hide the blue "L" brackets that appear at the beginning and end of endnotes. It's very distracting when looking for details in the text while typesetting. Thanks.

XML tags are not allowing inside Footnotes
We are handling huge STM Books and Journals and following XML workflow. Some of our books and journals will have huge footnotes with contents coded with client provided DTD. When applying the XML tagging to footnote contents, InDesign showing a warning that it's not allowed (attached the screenshot for reference)
Due to this limitation, we're handling the XML based footnotes with different approach and unable to utilize the benefits of usual footnotes features, which includes footnotes moving to next page when the footnote references are moving, flowing the part of footnotes into next page(s) when the contents are exceeding the…

This Only happens in adobe indesign, I can get a space with the space bar in this very box and other applications, but NOt in my indesign document. I have to copy and paste a space to get one in my document. You can imagine how that slows my work.

Diacritical positioning is still problematic in InDesign 2024 release, pre-release and beta
a simple edit causes it to go crazy and it can't be reversed

Variable Font Custom Weights Not Available
InDesign 19.1. I recently installed a new variable font from Monotype (https://www.myfonts.com/collections/unitext-variable-font-monotype-imaging). When using the slider to adjust the weight variable, the font breaks and defaults to the regular weight.
The same font works fine on Illustrator. Other variable fonts on InDesign (e.g. Acumin Variable) also work fine, so the issue seems to be tied to this specific font and InDesign only.

composite fonts
InDesign VERSION 19.1
I Created a new font using "composite fonts", chose the base font, latin & Numbers. after creating the new font, i selected the text frame and applied the new font i created (like i always did)
the problem is, tha the latin letters showed up with wide spacing (wide tracking) - shown in the attached image.
While teaching my student that, they told me the encountered the same problem. Since i have used it in the past i assume it is a bugRegards

suggest uppercase accented characters as alternatives
Italian keyboards with accented characters, do not have any way of typing uppercase accented characters. Consequently, when CAPS LOCK is on, all characters will be uppercase except the accented characters. When selecting an accented character, I get the suggestion to use the alternate glyph (which is often like a small caps character). It would be useful to have the choice of the uppercase version of a character among the suggested alternate glyphs. I suppose this could work both ways for all characters: uppercase should be a choice of alternate glyph for all lowercase characters, and lowercase should be a choice…

orthographe
Indesign 19.1
Text wrap should work normally with anchored objects
Just make text wrap on an anchored object work exactly as it does when you have a seperate object. Not sure what the point is of having it ignore the text wrap for objects above the line it's anchored to. I can always tell it to ignore if that's what I want.

Multi-character input from Indic keyboards failing
Tested in InDesign 2023 18.5.1 and 2024 19.1, on Mac OS Ventura 13.4
Several Indic keyboard layouts include keys that input a sequence of more than one character as a shortcut for typing the common –ra,, r–, or other syllabic forms that Unicode encodes as a sequence of multiple characters. So, for example, the Mac Sinhala keyboard assigns the following multi-character sequences to individual keys:
[`] = ්ර (rakārānsaya, U+0DCA U+200D U+0DBB)
[Shift]+[`] = ර් (repaya, U+0DBB U+0DCA U+200D)
[Shift]+[H] = ්ය (yansaya, U+0DCA U+200D U+0DBA)
But in InDesign only the first character of each sequence is input, the second…

Text disappearing while editing
On my MacBook Air when I use InDesign and I am editing text it frequently disappears then when I zoom in again it will reappear. It only ever disappears from view, it is never lost but still very annoying. It will do this about every 4 words I type.

Behavior of "Change" button different than behavior of "Change All" button
When finding and changing the paragraph or character style of some text to another paragraph or character style, using "Find" and "Change/Find" retains any local formatting (italic, bold, underline, superscript, etc.) in the affected paragraph. "Change All," however, removes all local formatting in the affected paragraphs.

connected frames
Create text frame with paragraph attributes, the text changing alignment depending on the text box attributes
Ideal for making annual calendars with connected frames from the left pages to the right and the text alignment changes depending on the style applied to the text frame, for example: (Left Page, text aligned to the left), (Page Right, text aligned to the right, if left page text change to right page the alignmento change.

rtl paragraphs line break wrong direction issue
In rtl text, I use rtl paragraph direction. when I add \n (forced line break) the remaining part of the text changes direction, unless I change character direction of \n character to "right to left". I use "default" as default character direction of paragraphs.
