Add cell width and heigth to table (or cell) styles
Very often I use tables in multiple pages taht need to have the same dimensions. Being able to do that in Styles would be priceless.

Libraries
A really small thing that has tripped me up a more times that I wish to admit is that in Indesign the CC Libraries is called "CC Libraries" however in Photoshop & Illustrator it is just called "Libraries"
If this could become standardised across the Adobe Suite that would be great.

Automatically convert table cells to fillable forms for PDF
Currently, as far as I know, adding fillable forms to a table requires drawing a text frame above each form. This is time consuming. It should be possible to create text fields from existing cells.

Manage the opacity of fill color in Table options
It could be great to be able to manage the opacity of the fill color of the table in addition of the tint. So that we can apply a table on top of an image but in keeping the text in full opacity like in the exemple below.

Flash Player should not be required to play non-Flash video in PDFs
Currently Interactive PDFs exported from InDesign require Flash to be installed for videos to be viewed. This is true even when the video is an MP4, and when the settings in Acrobat are set so it uses the Windows/Mac native video player.
Non-Flash videos should not require a Flash player. The PDF 2.00 specification allows for media in Interactive PDFs... but with Flash going away in 2020 we need a solution to continue showing media files in PDFs.

Path elements as Artifact
To create an accessible PDFs it’s essential to either tag relevant content or mark irrrelevant content as Artifact. In InDesign you can use the object export options to mark an object as “Artefact”.
So far so good, however any path elements from tables or underlined/strikethrough text are not marked at all. Obviously, those always need to be marked as an Artifact. InDesign should do this automatically during the pdf export process. Please fix that, it’s extremly time consuming to fix that manually in Acrobat.

when adjusting the stroke weight with the up/down arrow, make the selections go from 1 pt, to .75, .5, etc.
right now, if i have a line selected, and use the stroke weight pales to reduce it, if i'm already 1 pt, and click the down arrow, it goes to zero pt. not helpful. it wold be great for it to go to the other increments in the list. i was kind of hoping it would be in the current version, but nah.

Option to turn spell check off or skip master pages.
It would be helpful to be able to skip the spell check in master pages without turning the language to [No Language]. As well as make the "Ignore All" or "Add" feature in spell check work better and actually skip common use for your documents.

footnotes saving space
Can we make the footnotes text in 2 to 4 column, or run-in footnotes, because some books has too many footnotes, if a 3 or 4 word note occupies a line so we loose space. This will save space in long text books.

InDesign, and all other CC apps, should be ported to Linux
Linux is more efficient and secure than Windows or macOS. It also often has greater hardware compatibility and resource management, which would be useful when dealing with large projects.
This would be valuable for many users seeking to get the most out of their hardware, or who work with 3D rendering tools best suited to Linux setups.
Adobe already has a Unix base with the macOS version - surely a Linux version isn't too much of a head-scratcher for the devs.

Scratch Disk option
Give InDesign a Scratch Disk option like Photoshop and Illustrator. It consumes far too much memory and runs too slowly on Windows 7.

Individual PDFs - prefix page number
Thanks for the new export to individual pages!!! Would it be possible for the page number to be a prefix? My InSite provider wants the page numbers in the front of the file name. Perhaps it could be an option along with suffix?
Otherwise I'm stuck batch renaming all my files before uploading which is just adding another step to make a mistake.
Thanks.

Save PDF Export Settings within the InDesign File
I remember CS6 had this feature, and not having it on CC makes exporting PDFs a big hassle.
When I export a PDF from Document A (say with margin and crop marks) then go to document B (which I usually export without margin or crop marks) It still shows me the exact same settings I used on A.It should be file dependent: Some files I always export with margin only, others need crop marks. So at the moment I always have to change it again and again on every document.
Would be nice, if I export a file with certain settings, to save this info in the file itself, so when I open it next time, change something and want to export again, it shows me the same settings as before for this document.
Would also be possible to set it as possible checkmark in preferences in file management or something, if there are ppl who actually like the way, the export is behaving now and want to keep it.

Interactive buttons able to form shape of path
Currently interactive buttons are restrained to circular or rectangular bounding boxes. This needs to change so a path can be turned into the button.

Object Styles for Generated Captions
It would be really helpful when generating captions to be able to assign an object style in addition to a paragraph style. (Even better if there were multiple caption styles to choose from...)

Kerning Editor (with individual margin alignment options)
A Kerning Editor would fit nicely into the kerning feature, which allows to choose between optical, metrical kerning. The user would define his own kerning names.
The Kerning Editor has a GUI which allows the user to define his own kerning pairs which override the metrical ones defined in the font's kerning tables. There I can load the metrical kerning or the optical kerning as a start for my individual kerning.
Furthermore the new Kerning Editor has two more tokens/glyphs to kern with: the left and the right margin of a text frame. So the user can define his own margin alignment set, separately for every glyph in the font.Since the EULA's of all font companies are very strict to not alter any part of a purchaced font, it would be very, very useful to manually change the predefined kerning of a font inside an InDesgin document, so you don't have to worry about kerning any more. The optical kerning method is cool, but often enough it provides not the best alternative to the metrical kerning.
Furthermore the optical margin alignment should be better worked out. The user should not depend on an algorithm, but should be able to decide, which glyph goes out how far beyond the textbox border.
(There is a competitive layout program which has this feature since v3.x ...)A Kerning Editor would fit nicely into the kerning feature, which allows to choose between optical, metrical kerning. The user would define his own kerning names.

The hope of developing a new vertical effect of CJk text
(If you only want to read the core content, please go directly to the end of this article)
(This document is designated to be delivered to Adobe Japan)
————————
Dear Adobe Japan:
Thank for your attention and helping. On behalf of my region, I would like to make a request boldly to your company about the new effect of vertical typesetting.
The existing versions of indesign equipped with CJK typesetter and applicable to East Asia have only one text arrangement direction for vertical text arrangement - the first column inherited is on the right, from right to left from ancient China.
CJK in this article is a combination of Chinese, Japanese and Korean. There is one thing in common: all are square characters.
With the development of the times, in the birthplace of vertical arrangement, it is no longer emphasized to inherit this text arrangement. Now in China, this arrangement is no longer taught.
However, because of the square attribute of each Chinese character, even if it is no longer taught in the classroom, the text will still be vertically typeset when typesetting. But, now in China, reverse vertical typesetting of words from left to right also exists, such as the newspapers in China.
(As shown in the first figure attached,
Left: People's Daily, Oct 27th 2022, page 1. Each line of the title has only one sentence, which may be arranged vertically at this time; And in the upper left corner, it may be vertical from the left.
Right: People's Daily, July 8th 2021, page 2. At this time, the subtitle has two sentences, which are arranged in two lines, also in the form of vertical arrangement from the left.)(As shown in the second figure attached,
There are these search results using "如何在indesign里将文字左起竖排" in Google. There is also a related record in the Wikipedia Chinese Encyclopedia [https://zh.m.wikipedia.org/zh-cn/%E7%B8%B1%E6%9B%B8%E8%88%87%E6%A9%AB%E6%9B%B8]
— — — — — —
The above results are only about InDesign — if "InDesign" is replaced by "Photoshop", the keyword will become “如何在Photoshop里将文字左起竖排” or “如何在Photoshop里将文字从左往右竖排”, etc., there will be more relevant search results. Illustrator and Premiere also have same demands.)I would like to ask why there is such a direct arrangement in China. I think, first, at present, China is teaching from the left to the horizontal, and has not taught the writing order from the right; Second, for the reasons of layout balance and text directionality, in China, it is believed that straight text near the left side of the page should be read from left to right, which can balance the picture, and this direction can be read in the same direction (note: in China, there is almost no printed matter read from right to left). Therefore, there is a need to start from the left in vertical.
—————— Important content (my request) ——————
However, adobe series software, including indesign, has been developed the order from right to left, but only only has the vertical writing order. Adobe's East Asian language and text functions are developed based on Japanese. In other words, your, Japan company is the most important developer of East Asian language and character functions.
Therefore, I hereby propose a wish to your company: can you add the left to right vertical text layout function of CJK text in adobe series products? Plug ins with this function can be developed and attached to the installation program in the form of exe, so that users can install them in the plug-in folder, then sell it on the online shopping platform similar to Amazon in China.
I hope it can be developed, after all, the market demand is not small.
————————————————————
On behalf of my region, I would like to express my most loyal thanks to your company!
Yours sincerely.

"Split Column" within a table cell
I'd like to be able to use the "Split Column" feature within a table cell. I can do a work around sometimes by creating an extra column and making the middle line invisible, but when I've got three columns above one merged cell, I can't get things centered.
