   Urgent Improvement Request: Please implement a more consistent application of UI setting options (especially "Dark Mode") in the sense of an essential accessibility aid.

   The adaptability of the user interfaces in some Adobe Creative Cloud apps (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.) is not consistently executed. The needs of individuals, including designers and developers, with visual impairments (yes, they do exist!) are largely overlooked. This is not a trivial matter and could be considered discriminatory. Especially considering that Adobe Creative Cloud is an outstanding and decades-evolving app network for professionals that creative individuals cannot ignore. Adobe dominates the market and sets great standards on many levels.

   However, such a deficiency does not align with the image of a forward-thinking company and harms the brand image. Adobe should urgently address this issue and consider the needs of ALL Creative Cloud users!

   Detailed Problem Statement:
   When the user interface is set to a dark mode in the app's preferences, the unfolded "hamburger menus" of the palette windows with setting options unfortunately still appear in glaring white. This also applies to various context menus and subsections in different places and on different levels of Adobe apps. Even though the system settings are set to "dark mode," the Adobe app, for example, continues to present white selection windows when opening new files or importing files through the main menu.

   Urgent wish for improvement:
   More consistent implementation of the setting options of workspace customisation in Adobe Creative Cloud apps, including all menus and views within the apps.
   Adobe sets an example itself in the Creative Cloud client, as in the preferences under "Color Theme," options like "Light," "Dark," and "Adopt System Setting" are offered (It would be fantastic if one could set the default for all apps at this point or a similar central option within each app). A user-defined color composition option for the appearance of all UI elements should also be integrated much more consistently than it has been so far and harmonized across apps.

3. Please add Document First Page Number and Document Page Range to Text Variables

   I'm doing a layout for a scientific journal, and each article is in a separate file. The articles are then combined into a book. An important piece of information is the page range, which is part of the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) used by scientists to search. Additional text variables like Document Start Page and Document Page Range are much needed. The last variable requires separator formatting between numbers (e.g. 35-70 or 35…70)

4. Share for Review should be Save To Adobe PDF Documents as PDF

   So I really like the idea of Share for Review but it can be very buggy sometimes and I feel like a lot of the missing or requested features can be found in Adobe Acrobat Online Documents. So instead of having the two seperate systems why not have Share for Review simple be export a PDF directly to the Document Cloud and eliminate the extra step of having to save as a PDF and then upload and or share to get it online for review as a PDF.

   The PDF would use whatever quality settings the user chooses and can then be commented directly and downloaded if needed.

   I think with the fact that Acrobat is widely available in the browser these days it would work since the only real benefit Review has is that Acrobat is not needed but who doesn't have some version of a PDF file reader.

   From a Adobe business side - they would save on maintaining two different systems - more if you count the fact that Illustrators version of share for review seems to work differently then InDesigns - Share for Review would work basically the same across Illustrator/InDesign/Photoshop - People would get more exposure to Acrobat and may be seeing how useful it is would invest in Acrobat Pro.

   THe only main issue would be versions - does the system save a new PDF everytime - does it auto version it somehow if the name isn't changed - can comments from PDF review A be auto imported into PDF review B if the name is kept the same? Some kind of setup like that would also solve the missing feature of version control.

   It just feels like a waste to have two Systems that can do the same thing especially when one is still fairly new and not 100% there as far as features.

5. Add Suffix Customization

   I regularly use InDesign to build layouts destined to be JPG or PNG, so this new feature is very much appreciated, BUT when using the + Page Size suffix, the suffix includes spaces [eg."1260 x 350"] rather than the more web-friendly underscore or even better no spaces at all please. [eg."1260x350"]

   I've been using the [absolutely wonderful] Batch Rename feature of Bridge to fix this after the fact, but wondering if it would be possible to be able to choose/customize the suffix content more.

6. Set an increment for auto-sized text boxes

   When making a text box auto-sized, it would be good to set how much it expands by, be it 0.5mm, 1mm etc. I use it for laying out org charts, and to set the spacing between each box it helps when they are sized to be even 1mm sizes and sit at y value of an even number. If the box ends up auto-sized to 23.34mm then starting the next box at a y value of 25mm means a 1.66mm space between the two boxes instead of a nice even 2mm or something. If I could set it so that if a box needs to expand it does so in even 1mm increments this would mean nice, regularly-sized text boxes.

7. Directly create transparency on letters/words in a text frame

   Currently it is not possible to define a letter or words within a text frame with a certain percentage of transparency. It is only possible to adjust the Tint. In the Effects Panel, the Transparency options are greyed out (not accessible).

   Sometimes in a design you want to create such text effects, which at the moment can only be achieved with a workaround: an anchored text frame which poses several challenges if the transparent text runs over several lines.

   Affinity Publisher offers this right out of the box in the current version (2.3.1). Quark Xpress can do this as well. It would be great if InDesign also offers this functionality. Thank you!

9. InDesign for Apple Vision Pro

   Hello,

   I am an Artistic Designer that uses InDesign for about 30 hours a week. I essentially live within InDesign for work. I would very much like if you would make a full fledged InDesign available within Apple's Vision Pro headset. I'm not even asking for a Spatial redesign, though it would be amazing eventually. Just support for downloading and installing the full version of InDesign without an unnecessary additional subscription or mobile friendly version. Please, this would make a huge difference to a lot of people.

14. Exporting PDF Security Settings (Bug)

    When exporting documents to PDF where there are multiple layouts, there is a bug that happens when adding a Security Password to the PDF, where it will revert back to the original layout/all pages if you do not check it.

    So in essence if I only want to export layout 2, it will revert back and export all pages in the document after I input the Security details.

    A way around this issue is to make sure you put in the Security details and password first then go back to the General tab and input your settings. If you do the Security details last (which is usually the workflow since it is lower in the side menu) it will erase the General tab info.

    This is another step to remember to do if you are trying to export quickly which I think could easily be fixed.

    E.g to recreate the issue
    1. General tab - set range to export alt "layout 2"
    2. Go to Security and add in password
    3. Asks to re-put in password
    4. Go back to General and the alt layout will be back on layout 1/all pages

15. Accessibility: DESPERATELY need to input table summaries in Indesign. Before exporting to Acrobat

    Accessibility: Long form print/digital/W3C-ADA designers need to be able to input table summaries in Indesign. I update an Accessibility Document 2-3/year. +325 Tables/25 pgs. This one project that is coupled with a 240 page digital catalog is the bain to my existence. Having to redo the Table Summary work every interation is TORTURE.

16. Option to export PDF without creating a new folder.

    Ability to save a page as a PDF within an existing folder to make it easier to track versions I am sending to a client. It would let me keep my organization consistent with other Adobe products- where I track changes in the same folder with updated file names. The folders seems to be a recent feature that I do not have the ability to turn off and would like to see that as an option. Thanks!

17. Sharing preferences across devices using the same account.

    I would love to be able to share my InDesign preferences such as custom workspace layouts and custom preflight profiles through the cloud so that they are available on any device I sign into and also don't get lost every time there is a new major update/release of InDesign. These are key features to productivity and a lot of time can be spent setting preferences to get InDesign optimised and just right for your individual workflow, it is really frustrating to have to keep doing this on every device and after every update.

    I know you can manually copy workspace profiles between devices but it is a tedious and complicated process currently and would be better if it all just synced through the cloud.

19. Create (H) Header and (P) Paragraph style on same line to produce a TOC and 508 Accessible document (Run-in Running variable))

    Create (H) Header and (P) Paragraph style on same line that will pickup the styles when I produce the TOC and make the document accessible.

    I understand this can be done in FrameMaker.

    If a programmer can make it happen in FrameMaker, they should be able to make it work in InDesign.
