QR code for EPC/Sepa cannot be generated in indesignI do not understand why, but plain text qr codes for EPC/Sepa are not correct when generated in indesign. They cannot be scanned from the bank apps. europeanpaymentscouncil.eu/sites/default/files/kb/file/2018-05/EPC069-12%20v2.1%20Quick%20Response%20Code%20-%20Guidelines%20to%20Enable%20the%20Data%20Capture%20for%20the%20Initiation%20of%20a%20SCT.pdf 1 vote

Bring back Plug-ins MenuFor managing plug-ins in the current version of InDesign one has to open the CC app and manage plug-ins there. This is unfortunate, since the CC app apparently can't manage installed plug-ins (read "update") without uninstalling and reinstalling the plug-in; the "Update" button in Manage Plug-Ins on CC doesn't work, since there is no way to "choose an application." 1 vote

Share several separate files as one (using Book feature possibly) in Share for ReviewThe Share for Review is a fantastic feature.
We publish magazines that are designed in several different files for each section. It would be great if you could combine files and share for review (possibly using the Book feature). Currently the Book features allows you to create a single PDF from several separate files into one.
This option would be great when Sharing for Review instead of creating a PDF.24 votes

Color-code paragraph stylesI'm working on a huge training book with dozens of styles. I've stashed them in style groups, but it is still a chore, even inside a group, to scroll, scroll, scroll to try to find the style I need -- and it is also a chore to switch among the style groups themselves -- as many of the styles are used on every page due to the nature of the material. It would be SO VERY HELPFUL if one could color-code paragraph styles (a la the Layers palette) so that when there are this many styles, the ones a person… 16 votes

Snap to Glyph option like the one that exists in IllustratorNot much to elaborate on, but I'd love to see this option available in InDesign as I frequently find it useful in Illustrator. When trying to align objects to the center of the text, as opposed to the text box (because the text box is taller than the text), this would be amazing. Alternatively - a way to double click on the top-most midpoint of the text box and have it autosnap to the glyph height. This is virtually identical to the feature that already exists within InDesign. 2 votes

Add PDF Appearance hyperlink setting in the preferenceI generate catalog automaticaly with PIM data, API... The issue i am facing is all my hyperlinks are coming with Visible rectangle in the hyperlink panel setting. When I do a PDF it keeps this rectangle and my users use only Acrobat reader without possibility to hide the rectangle.
How can I set this setting as "Invisible rectangle" by defaut in my document when the data is sent automaticaly in my Indesign document.1 vote

Archive pages, spreads, artboards, etc. within a file without deleting them for goodWouldn't it be great if we could "archive" pages or spreads in inDesign (or artboards in illustrator, photoshop)? I want to be able to show options to my clients, and then narrow down those options by archiving pages without actually deleting them. Because sometimes, bless their heart, they want something from one of those already deleted ideas. 3 votes

Implementing "Grep styles" like a "Character style"Grep styles deserve to be used like any existing style. This means:
1 - Having a panel where we can create/modify/ delete any grep style (similar use as the Character style panel)2 - Having the Paraph.style/Grep styles section revamped.
There, a drop down list allows the user to select existing Grep styles (If any)3 - a "+" button allows to add and implement some more Grep styles
This allows to use multiple grep stylesThe added value is to create only once a list of grep style actions. They can then be connected to paragraph styles easily. This… 10 votes

Media Panel is missing all playback settings for MP4 files in InDesign 2020CC 2020 is missing all its control settings for playing MP4 files in an interactive pdf. Until this year's upgrade you had multiple options on what Controller Functions appeared when playing/displaying MP4's in an Interactive PDF document. 121 votesNavigation Points have been re-introduced in the Media panel. This feature is available in the latest release of InDesign (version 16.0). Please use this release to use Navigation Points for Video/Audio files. However, the Controller options will not be available. As communicated earlier, all options (Controller options being one of them) related to Flash/Flash player have been removed from InDesign as Flash Player is now being EOL’d (End of Life). —

Uses of Quickbooks auto data recoveryAuto Data Recovery facilitates data recovery in two ways: Use your current Transaction Log file and a duplicate of your Company file to recover lost transactions.
All transactions should be rebuilt using a copy of both your transaction and business files, with the exception of the recent few hours.

bookmark zoom levelIt would be a lifesaver to be able to set the bookmark zoom level in InDesign (whatever it defaults to now, "Fit Page", I think, isn't great for everyone), so that when it exports to PDF you can already have it set to "Inherit Zoom" (or whatever you need) rather than having to manually figure out a way to do it in Acrobat. When you edit the bookmark zoom level in Acrobat, there's not even a way to do it from the InDesign action that's there--you have to basically create a whole new bookmark, redirect it and then set the… 1 vote

Show/Hide global baseline and textframe baseline individuallyIt would be nice to be able to show/hide the global baseline and textframe baseline individually. At the moment they are turned on and off together which can be pretty hard to navigate. 2 votes

Open location from 'Recent files' in explorer or bridgeI normally save my exports to somewhere very close to the INDD file. Would love to be able to open a bridge or explorer window to the location of the files listed in 'Recent files' (the home screen when nothing is open). 2 votes

Make it faster!I have 16GB of memory on my graphics card and 128 in my computer, but Indesign only utilises 2GB & 16GB respectively. I regularly create multi-page documents that need complex vectors, style sheets, table of contents, etc which I cannot create in Illustrator and would slow me down even more if I had to. I'm also using a 10-core 3.6Ghz i9 processor. I don't know how many cores InDesign uses, but I would like to know if it utilises all of my processor cores. If it doesn't, can you make it do so please. 3 votes
