InCopy/Word
I can appreciate InCopy's capability of linking multiple authors. I personally never have need of that. Here's what I wish InCopy could do: Take MS Word file and make them fully compatible with InDesign. That is ... to remove all the rookie techniques employed by so many Word users, to remove all the mysteriously bogus code that creates frustrating local formatting. Sometimes you can fix these things by saving the text as RTX (or DOC instead of DOCX) from Word, but that doubles the number of text files to store - unnecessarily complicated. It is very troublesome to select fonts
It is very troublesome to select fonts from a list when managing a large number of fonts. Also, even when selecting font names by typing, it is difficult to select candidates if there is a typing error.

Indesign for IPad Pro M1
Indesign for IPad Pro M1. I’m from the first generation of Quark Express to now Indesign always working on a Desktop.
Having to move countries, I have embraced the mobile world and invested in an Ipad and the ‘Cloud’ ! It’s been amazing so far especially with the creative cloud but….no Indesign!!! What do I do? All my projects are built on it and now I can’t even open them ! What is the solution?6 votes -
offline mode for Apps while computer (emails or other) stay online
When I have an unstable internet connection or go online via hotspot/mobile data volume, I would like to set Indesign temporarily to offline, but at the same time keep the computer online for e.g. emails.

Full Screen / Split Screen Support for InDesign/InCopy on MacOS
It really would be helpful if the Adobe CC apps (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop et al) all did as Acrobat Pro DC does and properly implemented the MacOS full screen/split screen option.
This would allow people who use multiple and large monitors to properly designate workspace and split screens between two apps without toolbars/panels getting hidden by other apps.

Can we please have an action/automate function??
Would love an automation function so I can automate the repetitive tasks that I spend hours doing over and over again. This function is in Photoshop and Illustrator - want this for Indesign!

Preference settings for a bulleted list
Make a program or document preference setting for a manually formatted bulleted list. Now the hanging indent is always 6,35 mm and the bullet is always a dot.
And yes - I know this can be done by a paragraph style ...

Share for Review - Image Quality
Bring the optimized quality of Share for Review images up to the level of acceptable web-based image optimization at 100% size.
I understand the need to optimize images for high-performance quick reviews. However, the current setting is far too low. Upgrading the image quality to an acceptable web-image optimization will help reduce feedback loops with concerns from stakeholders over bad image quality.
In my review workflows using Shared for Review, I am now constantly exporting and sending separate PDFs to reviewers to prove image quality based on concerns from the Share for Review representation.

Ability to adjust opacity of guides - rows and columns
Users should be able to adjust the opacity of guides, enabling greater emphasis to be given to chosen elements. For example a rectangle frame tool can stand out more than the rows and columns used, otherwise it is very messy and impossible to sometimes use both at the same time.

Make gifs great again
• Allow a preview of a live GIF while designing - currently when it is placed into a deck it is static and only reviewable by publishing online.
• Allow a choice of the GIF thumbnail that becomes the still image when an offline version is downloaded. Currently I'm at the mercy of whatever the very first frame is in the entire GIF sequence.
• Better yet, make Adobe Reader able to play gifs so the 'offline' version doesn't have to be a compromise of the original intention.

Rename "flush space"
Rename the "flush space" to something more representative; suggest "flex space," "flexible space" or "expanding space."
This element was named in the narrow sense of allowing the last line of a justified paragraph to expand fully to the right margin. With the more obvious and accessible option of "full justification" this purpose of the space element is diminished, and it has use in other ways such as auto-spacing multiple words or phrases across a single line.

Have two systems of unit measurement operate simultaneously, depending on feature and function
I would like InDesign to operate simultaneously in two unit of measurement systems. I would like to be able to work and view typographic measurements such as point size, leading, paragraph spacing, baseline shift, and drop shadow amounts in Picas/Points; but at the same time see my page size, margins, object dimensions, column widths and such displayed in inches, or mm, or even pixels, according to my need. Please add possibility to generate other codes than QR-code like EAN-13, EAN-8, ISBN, ISSN, code39, code128, etc.

Object Style Duplication
I'm one of those people who use style sheets to the Nth degree, including Object Styles. Is it possible to duplicate Object Style groups the way that Paragraph and Character Styles are duplicated when making new alternate layouts? It would be so much easier to go into the newly minted Object Styles, update the look of one object, redefine the style in the palette, and then have that update all the other newly created objects.

Convert missing and and no longer existing hyperlink in to embedded image
When editing an existing file made by someone else who no longer has access to the links used in the file, I want to be able to pin the images to the file so that I can save the pdf without image resolution changes.
I tried embedding the images in the file but this option is not clickable for the missing links.1 vote -
Option to switch off nav bar
Can adobe give us the option, when publishing online, to switch off the Publish Online interface Nav Bar, so that when I embed using iFrame into Wordpress websites, I can pick up on the existing scheme without this bar interrupting the visual integrity

Password Protection for Online Publishing
It would be incredibly helpful if, when publishing a pdf online - for both personal or professional use - there was an option to add a password protection to the link, so that if a link to an important document were to be shared, only those intended recipients - those with access to the password - would be able to access and view it.

Standardize action of Ctrl-F (should be Find/New Find, not toggle Find window)
In ID, Ctrl-F (Cmd-F) toggles the Find/Change window open and closed.
Only the first instance behaves in a globally correct manner, by opening the F/C window if it is closed, and placing the cursor in the "Find" field.
Every other application of the last several decades then uses Ctrl-F to start the next new search, by placing the cursor in the Find field.
ID instead toggles the F/C window shut, and any user conditioned (by, again, every other app in use) to start typing a new search term finds themselves typing into the document instead.
