New Document based on existing document
The ability to select an existing document in the new Document dialog as a "template". When selected, The "New document" dialog adapt the settings from the selected document. On document creation it import styles from the "template".

Format panel: Symbols for special keys
I use shortcuts for my paragraph formats quite structured: Command+NumPad-1 is the large headline b.e., Command+NumPad-2 the subline and Command+NumPad3 the main text. If there is an alternate version of these styles, for example a smaller variant or with a different font for certain elements I’d shortcut those with an additional Alt- or Control-key. However, a long description of a shortcut blends away the name in the Format panel – see screen shot attached. Describing the purpose of a link in EPUBs using aria-label
Description
It would be really great if hyperlinks would get an (optional) attribute to describe their purpose, and this being reported in EPUB outputs as values of aria-label attributes.

Something similar is already in place for alt-text ("Edit Hyperlink..." -> "Accessibility" -> "Alt-Text") which I understand plays a role in PDF outputs.
Why is this valuable to you?
This would bring a GREAT accessibility enhancement in all those occasions where the hyperlink (or the hyperlinked text) does not provide enough context/information to the reader (i.e. when reporting DOI links - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_object_identifier - they almost never offer any info on…

Linked filename on hover
When you hover over an image, the name and path of that file pops up in a tooltip.

Multipaste
There's a plug in called Multipaste where when you copy an object and go to edit, an additonal option is 'Multipaste'.
This allows you to quickly paste the same object in the same place on a selection of pages that you specify.
This doesn't work anymore, so it would be great if it were a feature of ID.
I know you can put something on master page, but this doesn't work for the pasteboard, and you then have to go through each page and command click to make it editable.
Sometimes I just want to paste exactly the same object…

command+s issue
Command+s does the same thing as command+shift+s when saving files that were created in an older version of indd. It creates a dialogue box and a "are you sure you want to overwrite"
This is a useless (expected, i have been told by support) behavior that only slows things down when revising large amounts of files.
Its because it updates the file to run smoothly, but who would then not want to save it into the updated version? command+s should just overwrite/create the new version file automatically. If need be there could be a warning dialogue the first time with…

UI Keep Options dialog (and Keep Options in Paragraph Styles)
Can you please change the layout of the Keep Options Dialog Box so that it is clearer for end users? Attached you find a proposal from my part.
The differences are:
• More space between "Keep with Previous" and "Keep with Next" + added a line in between them.• Keep with Previous and Keep with Next. In the original it seems like you have to check the first (Keep with Previous) and to use the second (Keep with Next).

Disable features to speed up performance and remove bloat.
I wish there was a feature where we could disable all the bloat that we don't need - I am not interested in CC Libraries, Share for Review and god knows what else. The performance of this bloated app is sub standard and something like this would help.

Cell values can be pasted without formatting
When pasting the cells of a table into a cell field in a different format, only the values should be pasted without formatting. Just like pasting copied text without formatting.

Find/Change - Colour - Selected items?
So, thought I would use this Find/Change - Colour to change all the colours of text/strokes/fills on a page in a college prospectus I am designing (each curriculum area has a different colour).
There is no 'Selected items' in the search area. Only Document or All Documents. Wouldn't be so bad if it started on the page you was on, but no, it starts from page 1 every time making this potentially useful feature useless to me for this problem.
Can I please request an option to add 'Selection' and or 'Current Page'.

please let us change default layer colors
I would like to be able to change the default layer colors. I don't like that there are 2 shades of blue before other color options are being used. I know yellow was removed as a default layer color, but I didn't mind the yellow. So why not have us choose our own colors?

Save-able drop shadow settings
You should be able to SAVE Drop Shadow settings so as to be able to add them to a future object with a single click. Those of us who do publication-length work often want to add drop shadows to multiple objects over many pages. Your needs rarely match the defaults, nor each other (drop shadow settings are very context sensitive and depend on size of the object, background contrast, etc.). Please make it so that I can save customized Drop Shadow settings in an object, and then apply to another object with a single click.

Is it possible to have higher zoom percentages in indesign in the next relase? 64.000%
