Have a repository of InDesign experts to help beginners accelerate their project
In the Help menu, it would be nice to have one item where it says: Hire Help
Here is the rationale:
I'm stuck with this one project and I don't know who to ask questions ouside the usual "Hire a virtual assistant".
What I mean is this: why would I go outside the the InDesign Help ecosystem to get help?
If there was a pool of legal professional users of InDesign, I would be the first one to use it.1 vote -

Let InDesign remember the last chosen size of the app window on screen.
Like many people I work on a very large screen, and I have to refit the extend of the window every time I start InDesign. I think the problem is the same across most of your apps. Windows 10 btw.2 votes -
Add a 'Quantize' function
A Quantize function should align selected vertices and layout element to the nearest document grid points. This allows for quick layout / design sessions to be aligned to grid after wards.

More functionality and control with form fields
Please add the ability to set leading in form fields. Many clients want to print lines for writing but also have multi-line fillable text fields. It's nearly impossible to create this and have it look good. Would be awesome if form fields used paragraph styles for formatting. Please also allow the designer to change the field highlight color. The default blue isn't ideal for most designs.

Convert Table to Form
Should be a simple way to tell InDesign (and later Acrobat) that a table is a form.
Column A are the Field names, column B are the blank fields. No field recognition necessary, just spreadsheet logic. Even a dialog where you define which rows/columns are what would be a huge boost.
Would save 3 headaches: 1) not knowing if Acrobat will recognize the fields, 2) renaming each field 1-by-1, and 3) setting the text formatting 1-by-1 (Acrobat can batch this but InDesign can't).

Option to select all text over multiple components in InCopy
It is impossible to select all text in an article that exists over multiple components.
Now you can only copy text from one component at the time.
Would be helpful, for example, if you need to quickly copy the article to be pasted in an email so it can be send to somebody to review.1 vote -
spell check
Spell check in Indesign is not fit for purpose in its current state, it is slow and clunky and gives no indication of where you are when checking a long document, could it not give a list of words like links panel that you can click to go to? At least implement some sort of progress bar and indication of how man words are incorrect/need reviewing. The forwards and backwards button do not help in any way - i'm sure the reason you need the change direction is only because its so slow and clunky that it goes past a…

Table of contents update only page numbers
Like in MsWord, it would be a nice feature to update the table of contents and update only the numbers, or update text and numbers together. Sometimes people change long words in a table of content just to fit a header into one line of text. Or they add a few words behind the header just to make the table of content easier to understand. When updating the table of content then it would be nice if you could choose to update only the numbers.

Option to pick your default Share for Review Private or Public Access Setting
This may already be available (if so please teach me), but I don't see it.
Having the share for review option able to default to either public or private access. I can't tell you how many times I am in a rush and forget to click public and then the person gets back and says, they don't have access.

Add more dictionaries to InDesign
Please add hyphenation and spelling dictionaries for more languages.
According to my quick research, many European languages are missing:
Belarusian (millions)
Flemish (millions)
Serbian (millions)
Macedonian (1,400,000)
Basque (660,000)
Luxembourgish (400,000)
Icelandic (350,000)
Kashubian (200,000)
Faroese (66,000)
Sorbian (55,000)
Latin https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601021-adobe-indesign-feature-requests/suggestions/31959424-add-latin-dictionary
...If you can’t provide support out of the box, you should at least develop an easy and user friendly way to install custom dictionaries:
https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601021-adobe-indesign-feature-requests/suggestions/38014024-one-click-easy-install-for-hunspell-dictionariesThe leading app should not ignore minor languages and should support them as much as possible. Missing dictionaries affect millions and millions of readers worldwide.
It is not only about hyphenation, it is…

Interactive/Button and Forms/PDF Options - Add Text Field option for flush left, centered or flush right
Text Fields are all flush left. Add an option to make them flush left, centered or flush right. I create interactive PDFs. Every time I export to a PDF, I open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Pro and have to manually change Prepare Form/Text Field Properties/Options/Alignment to the desired alignment to "centered" or "flush right" since the default is "flush left." This option would be a great time saver and save on my frustration.

Zoom tool improvements - fill window, scrubby zoom, and more
Several improvements needed for the Zoom tool - scrubby zoom (as per other ideas posted), zoom buttons at the top (similar to PS, as attached image), ability to zoom out when clicking, ability to hold and zoom, ability to make the page/spread fill the window. Eliminate the need to go to View for anything that isn't click to zoom. Basically, simple features that come with Photoshop.

Import formatting from PDF comments
InDesign should apply what ever it recives from the PDF. The formating options for the comments are pretty limited – Bold, Italic, Underline, ...
If I accept a comment that has italic characters, the formatted text would be [italic].
If I accept a comment that has bold characters, the formatted text would be [bold].
If I accept a comment that has bold italic characters, the formatted text would be [bold italic].
If I am using a font that does not have an Italic weight (Maybe it uses Regualre Italic), the text would just recive the standart missing font warning (The…

Automatic page shuffling on books (indb) should be opt-in
InDesign automatically changes numbering of files listed on a indb book.
That's handy but may easily lead to disasters and should be an opt-inSometimes I only create indb books when I'm near to finish a book. Each file is already numbered correctly and chapters begin on even pages.
If I'm adding files to my indb one by one and unknowingly skip one of them, InDesign automatically changes page numbering on my files. The problem is that InDesign will also shuffle pages and save files as soon as I add them to my indb.
On simple text books, that doesn't…

Keep Comments on the Spread When Resolved
My reviewers love being able to see the conversation and comments all the other reviewers are making, saving them time by not making the same comment over and over. My proposal team thinks the interaction between InDesign and SFR is wonderful!! In our large documents, we have found as we start to make the edits, the comments disappear making it challenging for the document editor to find where they were. The comment totally disappears or it throws them to the end of the list in a pile of "unmapped comments." BUT it then totally moves the comment off the spread.…
