  1. Place Gun Enhancement

We use InDesign in our printing department to place images for printing on our Epson Printers.
At the moment we have page templates with Auto-Fit frames placed and ready to accept the various sizes of supplied images (clients always manage to supply images to the wrong dimensions).

    Here's what we do :
    1. Call up a template.
    2. CMD-D to load the Place Gun with multiple files (anything from 2 to 50 - sometimes more).
    3. Click in each frame to place the loaded images.

Here's where I believe the procedure could be enhanced - in fact it's the only…

  2. Make the tools in the toolbox customizable so we can rearrange the tool layout

Make the tools in the toolbox customizable so we can rearrange the tool layout like you can in Photoshop. I'd like to simply be able to arrange the tools in a way that benefits my workflow and hide some tools I rarely (or never) use. This is basic functionality, such an obvious feature — and it's so annoying that it is not available.

  4. File save revisions

I will explain with an example, I will be working on a design and saves it.
Later I modify the design and save it and the client tells me that the old design was better. Now my problem is returning to the last saved version.

  5. Dynamic text for Indesign please…..

It would save so much time — while Dynamic Text isn’t perfect in Photoshop Beta, it’s still great. Since InDesign is such a typographic powerhouse, though, it would make even more sense there — far more control, styles, and layout flexibility.

  7. Native Support for Bibliographic Citations and Plugin Integration with Reference Managers (Zotero, EndNote, Mendeley, etc.)

Unlike Microsoft Word, Adobe InDesign lacks built-in tools for managing bibliographic citations, in-text references, and automated bibliography generation. This is a major limitation for users creating academic papers, scientific publications, books, theses, or any long-form documents with sources.Currently, we rely on workarounds like:Drafting in Word with citation plugins (e.g., Zotero, EndNote, Mendeley), then placing static text into InDesign.
Third-party scripts (e.g., zot2indd for Zotero), which are unofficial and limited.

Requested features:Native dynamic citation fields (similar to Word's References tab) for inserting in-text citations and auto-generating/updating a bibliography.
Official plugin/extension support or API integration for popular reference managers like Zotero, EndNote,…

  8. Table of Contents updates

When making changes in the TOC dialogue box, if you just press "OK", the changes are only made until you next update the TOC (why?? Where's the warning??!) It's intuitive to expect that pressing OK is updating the TOC style permanently.
Instead, you need to press "Save Style" & go through the process of overwriting the style. OK should automatically overwrite the style & then you "Save Style" if you want to create an alternate.
I had a large print job stuffed up because of this. I know that others have mentioned this (but I couldn't go through 57 pages…

  9. CRITICAL: Restore Hebrew Nikud Functionality in InDesign (Latest Versions) Issue:

Issue: The latest Adobe InDesign versions have broken Hebrew nikud (vowel points) rendering, which worked perfectly in older versions. This is preventing designers, publishers, and educators from properly typesetting Hebrew religious texts, children's books, educational materials, and more.

Impact: Thousands of users working with Hebrew content are either:
    Losing productivity and revenue

Request: Please restore full nikud support as it existed in previous versions. This is not a feature request—it's a critical bug fix for a writing system used by millions.

If you work with Hebrew text in InDesign, please vote to prioritize this fix! 🙏

  10. QR code without borders

Generating QR Codes in Indesign is great, but one thing is designwise a hassle: the invisible border of the QR code. It changes also in size when the code is more detailed as before, or less.
for a designer this normed border is only slightly important – it's more important where the visible part, the code itself starts and ends.. so we can align it visually to our design. Please add this function.

  11. Allow inserting symbolic footnotes (e.g., asterisk *) without affecting numbered footnotes

In many types of publishing—especially academic, religious, and literary works—there is often a need to insert symbolic footnotes, such as a single asterisk (), double asterisks (*), dagger (†), or other custom characters, without affecting the numbering sequence of standard footnotes in the document.

Currently, InDesign only supports one unified footnote style per document, which means that using a symbol instead of a number affects all footnotes globally. This makes it impossible to add a single symbolic note while keeping the rest of the footnotes numbered.

Feature Request: Please consider allowing users to insert a one-time, manually defined…

  12. business cards sleeves printing in Canada

For every professional who cares for an impressive presentation, a protective sleeve for a business card becomes a must; hence, business cards sleeves printing in Canada offers fine products. Made of prime material, these sleeves can be customized with imprinting logos, colors, and finishes in line with brand identity. Business card sleeves lend an element of professionalism to networking and corporate events while leaving behind a well-groomed, long-lasting impression-this is an idea cherished across Canada.

  13. Add-on the package shortcut for Japanese product

    Dear Adobe,
I have been wondering why InDesign in Japanese wouldn't have a shortcut key for "package".
In the CA (English) version, it has the one as shift+option+command+P, though.
It bothers me a little, and I would appreciate it if you could make it an add-on.
    Best,

  14. Selected or Page in Find/Change

Earlier versions of InDesign included a “Search: Selected” option in Find/Change.
This made it possible to safely replace text only within a selected area or page.

In current versions, this option has been removed, and Search: Document ignores selections entirely, making page-specific replacements impossible when text exists in multiple, unthreaded text frames.

This is a serious regression for production and packaging design workflows, where the same value (order number, batch number, SKU) appears multiple times per page and must be changed per page only.

Please restore Search: Selected, or introduce a Search: Page scope in Find/Change.

  15. Convert imported bullets to bullets when assigned bulleted style.

When you assign a bulleted paragraph style to pasted or imported text, convert the imported bullets to the paragraph style bullets (instead of treating the imported bullets like the rest of the text resulting in bulleted bullets). It's tedious deleting, either manually or via F&R, all the imported bullets.

  16. The ability to find/change Table, Cell styles and Object Styles

It would be great if we could find/replace specific Table styles, Cell styes and Object Styles. So basically have them available under the Find/Change options. This would be so useful for replacing Table and Cell styles in a large number of tables in a document. Now we have to manually select each table or cell/row/column to change them individually. It would save a lot of time if this could be more automated. Zie attached image for interface example.

  17. Enable non-contiguous text selection (like in MS Word)

I work daily on customized graphic projects — brochures, flyers, posters, catalogs — where manual precision is essential. In these kinds of jobs, using styles and automation is often unnecessary or even counterproductive.

It’s quite limiting that InDesign does not allow non-contiguous text selection within the same text frame, a feature that has been available in software like Microsoft Word for years (Cmd+click on Mac / Ctrl+click on Windows).

Being able to select multiple non-adjacent portions of text and apply changes to them simultaneously (bold, size, color, etc.) would be a major improvement for those of us who work in…

  18. Persistent Tutorial Pop-ups in InDesign

    Dear Technical Support,

I am experiencing persistent issues with Adobe InDesign, where tutorial pop-ups and annotations for new features continue to appear, even after repeatedly clicking the "Skip" button. This behavior is highly irritating and disrupts my workflow. Could you please advise on how to disable these pop-ups?

  19. Add feature to toggle on/off "adjust page numbers when hiding spreads" to add behavior option to match CC2024

Request: Add an option to toggle on/off "adjust page numbering when hiding spreads."

The updated Hide Spreads feature that adjusts page numbering when spreads are hidden is only useful in documents where you may have alternate versions of pages, but not when you are just trying to export unique sample pages from a long document. We have multiple users that had used Hide Spreads in CC2024 to easily exclude pages from a PDF export instead of having to type in page ranges to export. The original page numbers are critical to keep for functions like "see page 31 for an…
