Why haven't we got Hide Edges/Hide Bounding Box like Illustrator?
very useful for alignment, just better on the eye, without boxes and lines all over the show. Why is my Control panel shortcut/menu command intermitant?

Insert special character — Unicode compliance
Unicode is required to meet accessibility standards and several forms of publishing technologies.
The keyboard shortcuts and right-click/opt-click Insert Special Characters shortcuts need to be updated to insert the Unicode versions of these glyphs.
The Unicode glyph charts are at www.Unicode.org

Publish Online: Comment Mode NEEDED! :)
I think in order to compete with the other tools out there, CC needs to add Comment Mode into their Publish Online feature. That way we can share documents with clients and partners and have them provide feedback right there. Please think about doing this, and soon :)

Changing document defaults warning
Many beginning users often change settings without an object selected (but they think do). These settings include paragraph styles, character styles, object styles, effects, text wrap. While this is technically a feature, it causes all kinds of confusion to the beginner. How about a warning dialog box stating what they are about to do and give them an option of canceling?

Prevent manual formatting with InCopy
While IC users cannot create or edit styles when opening up an ID file, they have full access to manual formatting. This should be prevented (by option).

'Even' and 'odd' pages from consecutive files in an InDesign book will not combine on a spread when exporting to PDF
When exporting a book with multiple InDesign files to PDF the last 'even' page from document 'x' needs to combine with the first 'odd' page of the next document on a spread.
So let's say document 1 is from page 1-6 and document 2 is from page 7 to page 50, pages 6 and 7 need to merge onto a spread when exporting to PDF. It will now make separate pages, while the pages from one and the same document do come out as spreads.13 votes -
More interactivity
Be able to make things move like in pages but a little more sophosticated like premiere, after effects and spark.
Being able to design like a post but add text that eases in and out.... that would rock!2 votes -
Black only crops
When printing or exporting to a pdf file for print, can we have an option of black only crop marks. The reason is when we print to our Xerox Igen 4 and there is a mixture of color and black and white pages, the pages with just black text register as color because of the registration colored crop marks and on large runs it can add up to a lot of money. Thank you.

Styles Option on New Document Settings.
I see far too many younger designers not know how to use or simply refuse to use paragraph styles, character styles, layers, and even master pages.
I'd love to see these options available in the open new document settings, just as we pick the page size, margins and gutters, I'd like styles to be an option.
As a frequent contract designer, there's nothing worse than going into someone else's InDesign document and spending more time organizing the file, making sure the entire document is formatted properly with the correct styles, separating items in proper layers... Anything to help new documents…

Indesign CS6 and prior one could easily make footnotes inline for multiple footnotes in a page. Now with the new Version it is gone.
Indesign CS6 and prior one could easily make footnotes inline for multiple footnotes in a page. Now with the new Version it is gone. Please bring back the simplicity of the footnotes and try not to mess up what works. Now the forced and default spacing between the footnotes does not allow for inline Footnotes. Even Peter Karhel’s script does not work.

Add Selected to Dictionary
With the dictionary and spelling options the phenomena of names of places and companies , multi word names that include irregular spelling the idea of add selected text to dictionary should be available. This would let the software searching for spelling errors include the names as a part of the algorithm.

EXPORT JPG NAMED BY PAGE SIZE
Dear Adobe,
it would be very usefull if we could export jpgs from indd. file (contains different page sizes, 1200x628, 760x600, etc..) named by different page sizes like you did with export PDF files.

Equivalent to Ai's 'Hide Edes' to hide selection higlighting
When choosing a color or a font for text, it's very hard to judge the appearance when the selected text is hilighted/inversed.
A function like Illustrator's 'Hide Edges' (cmd-H) would be of great help, to invisible select text.2 votes -
