Manage Recent Files List - It's useless if you run a Book operation!
The Recent Files list gets FILLED UP with chapter files if I run a Book operation. All my other projects get pushed off the list, even though all I did was re-paginate a book. This makes the Recents list useless! Please fix this!
The Recent Files list MUST BE MANAGEABLE if it is to be useful. Files get "touched" for very trivial reasons, sometimes just to look at something in the file. This results in an almost random listing of Recents. Please understand how a Recents list can be useful -- don't just blindly list files by "changed date".

Rotating a linear gradient used in paragraph shading
At the moment there is no level of control for rotating a linear gradient used in paragraph shading. Please add that functionality.
Thanks, René

Export to tiff/psd
One, very obvious feature is missing form indesign: export document to tiff. This feature should allow exporting all pages to separate tiff/psd files, preferably with preserved layers.

Allow GREP Styles to apply to merged text
GREP Styles cannot be applied to the results of a merged document, either when printing or exporting to PDF or when creating a merged document. This should be fixed.
See the attached screenshot. Numbers blurred, but clearly the Invisible style is not being applied.

Please allow an export as TIFF option!
I don't understand why a graphic design software won't allow pages to be exported as a TIFF! It is fine if it is restricted to single-pages.
It's a HUGE pain to try to convert my designs into PDF or JPEG and open in photoshop, and always introduces some quality loss. Please Adobe, make your software functional for the 21st century!2 votes -
Choose directory when exporting as separated single PDF files
When exporting to PDF as single page separated files, add the ability to choose a directory and then to check which file to replace or ignore as in export for the web feature in Photoshop…

Importing .fdf files for Importing PDF Comments
Thanks for your implementation of Importing PDF comments, this is definitely a game changer and the future of Print Production in the industry. One question I have is why are we unable to import the .fdf file with the comments from our PDFs straight into InDesign? When working on old PDFs made in 2018 or older we then have to make a new PDF in 2019 and apply those comments to that PDF and it feels like unnecessary hassle. Could the .fdf file created when exporting the comments in Acrobat just not be imported straight into InDesign instead?

Enable Animated/Scrubby Zoom
Add the animated/scrubby zoom feature for PC users--it's time. It's ridiculous Photoshop and Illustrator has it, but not InDesign? Since Mac users are given tools PC users don't have, perhaps Adobe should discount our subscription fee.

ColorManagement - Switch while opening a file (New-Option to choose Preset, or use File-CMM or convert)
Hallo Adobe-team,
Unequal inset values in an Object Style don't display in a text frame if corners are rounded
If you use an object style with unequal inset spacing and apply it to a text frame, the unequal spacing is ignore and made uniform.
Steps to recreate:
1. Create an Object Style
2. Go to 'Text Frame General Options' for that style
3. Set unequal values for 'Inset Spacing'
4. Go to 'Stroke & Corner Cptions'
5. In 'Corner Options' set 'Rounded'
6. Create a Text Frame
7. Fill Text Frame with placeholder text
8. Apply Object Style to Text FrameResult: unequal inset spacing is ignored.
If you apply unequal inset spacing manually there are no problems —…

Apply object style to a group
It would be nice if I could apply an object style to grouped objects. Especially useful when using only the position functions.

Uncheck Shared Hyperlink Destination by default
In the panel 'New Hyperlink' the box 'Shared Hyperlink Destination' is by default checked. I always (must) uncheck it. Two questions: can I reset these default-settings somewhere. (I think not - but I'll like to do that). There is no possibility to put this check on/off under a shortcut. That should be nice for automation-purpose.

User Interface Ideas for newbies
hello
I think a good change for newer users is to make it to where the user interface is more user-friendly. I don't mean the whole app I just mean certain things. For example, one thing would be, is to make the options panels easier to stick. I didn't know that you had to drag the box to one side of the screen to get it to stick to the app. It took me the whole day to figure this out, otherwise, when you move the InDesign app to another screen those panels get left behind. So either have a…1 vote -

Print miniatures (multiple pages) with definable scale rate and border style
1) Please add option to print miniatures with a definable scale rate
2) Please allow to print multiple pages (with 100% actual size) on one sheet
3) Please add printing option to apply something like an object style to the pages (e.g. border style, drop shadow)These features would be great timesavers for internal discussions and external presentations during the whole design process.

Some way to synchronize and update styles (Paragraph and Character especially) across multiple InDesign documents.
Currently, there is no way other than the undesirable "book" workaround method to have a set of Paragraph Styles - that can be updated globally accross multiple InDesign documents.
There should be some way to synchronize and update styles (Paragraph and Character Styles especially) across multiple InDesign documents.
This could be done by some kind of external "Styles" library (ideally, both Local and or Cloud based) that can be applied to an .indd file, that when updated or changed, will then update or change any document using that same Styles Library.
Currently, it is very difficult to keep Styles updated…

To implement the Advanced Composition Engine font technollogy
Advanced Composition Engine is a technology far superior than OTF and TTF so it would be a great engine to use within Adobe products. Not just for Arabic and eastern script but for every possible script. It is 2019 so let's get our options to max level.
You can read about Advanced Composition Engine at this article:

Relink already placed images with new images
When I tried to relink an already placed JPG in my InDesign CC 2019 file with a larger version of the same graphic with another file name, the Links panel showed the new file name and the new graphic size, but the placed image in my InDesign file remained the same.
For example, the original graphic was 1" wide and the new graphic was 3" wide. When I relinked the 1" graphic to the 3" graphic file, the image in my InDesign file still showed the graphic as 1" wide even though the Link Info showed the new file name…

InDesign to accept TeX / LaTeX inputs
Like InDesign is accepting Quark inputs till some version (say version 4.0), I'm expecting such feature to accept TeX / LaTeX input too as many of Authors are still using TeX / LaTeX as inputs and the same need to typeset using TeX / LaTeX software.
If InDesign is accepting these inputs, we can directly include in InDesign and proceed the further typesetting process.
One difficulty is usually TeX / LaTeX inputs will have much mathematical equations.
