Many internal as well as external factors can cause the InDesign application to crash/freeze/hang. A few workarounds are listed at Fix crash issues with InDesign.
We completed the investigation and came up with the following: Either the issue has been resolved in the most recent release of InDesign (Refer to InDesign Release notes), the issue was intermittent at the time of reporting and is no longer reproducible, or the InDesign version mentioned in the report is no longer covered by Creative Cloud Support Policy.
We would recommend you upgrade to the latest version as it is more robust. If you are still facing this issue even after updating it, either submit the crash report(Refer to Submitting crash reports) to us or Contact Adobe support.

The change was made to reduce the UI clutter for the user and it was moved to the bottom left of the screen in the Status bar where other controls like page navigation, preflight profiles, etc. are available.
To continue using this feature, we can suggest a simple workaround which takes less than a minute to accomplish – just open the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog, choose Views, Navigation from the Product Area drop-down, select the ‘Access zoom percentage box’ from the list of commands and assign a shortcut – example, Ctrl-Alt-5. You can customize the keyboard shortcuts as you like and save a new Keyboard Shortcut Set.
Meanwhile, we are reviewing this request.

Hi,
Am moving this issue as a feature request. The idea here is to achieve an effect like: https://app.box.com/s/2eflfbxwychhln9f34tpf0yyw898w5dhCurrently this can be done by turning off the bottom border of the last frame and top border of the first frame.

Hi,
Thanks for mentioning this. Do you mean the blue braces at the end and start of endnote text?
Those are just markers that depict the start and end of endnote text. This will not be printed or exported. helpx.adobe.com/in/indesign/using/endnotes…To adjust the spaces, please explore and set the Type→Document Endnote options.
Please let us know if this helps you out.

Please update InDesign to the latest version, InDesign CC 2018 (13.0) for the fix of the issue.
An error occurred while saving the comment amaarora commentedHi,
Please add a separate bug for the tagging issue so that it can be looked at.
Also, when the anchoring point is ahead of the previous anchored point then in that case:
1. The anchored frame looses it tagging
2. The character immediately after the new anchored position gets the tagSince the original issue of this thread is resolved, please file a separate bug for the tagging issue.

An error occurred while saving the comment amaarora commentedHi,
Yes! We have purposefully blocked the "paste into operation of a group inside a graphic cell of a table when the group has both a text frame and a graphic frame" in order to fix some other related issues and crash.
If you feel this is an important use case then please let us know so that we can process this as a feature(which was removed) request instead of a bug.-Aman

Please let us know the version of InDesign? Are you using the latest InDesign version CC 2017.1?
Nonetheless, you can try cleaning both your InDesign cache and preference. https://forums.adobe.com/thread/526990-Aman

Do you mean searching in the Find/Change dialog box?
If yes, then please can you confirm (and try the solution) that this issue https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/31382155-the-find-function-doesn-t-work-properly-it-writ is same as yours?
If its same i can merge the two issues. If you are referring to some other bug, then please elaborate a little more.

An error occurred while saving the comment amaarora commentedHi,
You mentioned that you have changed Preferences back to "English (North America)".. do you mean language settings from the Character panel?
In the text box with which you face the problem can you see what happens when you change the composer to Adobe Paragraph composer from the paragraph panel menu?
Since you were working with Arabic it is likely that inDesign has changed the writing direction to Right to Left.-Aman
