Hi,
Yes this is a known issue with the CC 2017.1 (12.1.0.56 ×64 build) release of InDesign. We have posted a plugin that can help you fix the issue. Please follow the instructions on the below link to get the plugin.

Hi,
Yes that is the problem of "false ligatures" which has been there since quite a few versions of Indesign. I am also unable to reproduce this issue consistently but yes it does occur.
Do let me know if you find some concrete steps so that it can be looked into.-Aman

Hi,
Yes this is a known issue which happens rarely, especially when exporting an indd to .pdf wherein the pdf contains "false ligatures"
If you can share the .indd file along with some steps to reproduce the problem it would be great-Aman

Double-click the Eyedropper Tool to open Eyedropper Options dialog.

Do you mean eyedropper? Can you explain a little more about the case wherein the pipette does not work?
It works nicely for me when i pick up character/paragraph styles from cells in table and apply it to another cell text-Aman

Hi,
I tried to look at the issue you are facing.
According to me this is an issue related to how the InDesign incorrectly maps and reads the glyphs of the font Helvetica (used in your document). With CC 2017.1(infact from CC 2015) InDesign maps the characters "fl" to a glyph which visually looks like a space. When "fl" are written together they are treated as a ligature. InDesign however is unable to read the correct ligature glyph "fl" from the font file.
This was not the case with InDesign CC 2014 where i am able to write "fl" close together and see them substituted by their ligature glyphs(see attached screesnhot)
As a workaround for now, please turn off "Contextual Alternatives" property from the character panel and then you would see "fl" display correctly.
I see this issue in all languages.

Yes this is a known UI issue with the CC 2017.1 (12.1.0.56 ×64 build) release of InDesign.We have fixed this issue for the upcoming release. You can test and try the fix in the Beta build posted on the InDesign Pre-Release program. Follow the below link for joining InDesign Pre-Release program and getting access to the Beta build of InDesign.
I have also attached a screenshot named Bleed_values_2018.png showing how the same values look now.

Hi,
Thanks for pointing out that behaviour. But this is a designed behaviour. Underline is a property of text and is applied on text. When you select text and convert it to outlines... it no longer remains text but turns to an image. It becomes raterized.
At the same time, please readhttps://indesignsecrets.com/outlining-fonts-is-it-necessary.php that explains nicely why you dont need to convert text to outline while providing it to printer...-Aman

Do you want to use properties like "Kenten", "Shatai","Ruby"?
Seems like you have downloaded the English version of InDesign.
You can choose to install the Chinese (or Japanese or Korean) version from the Creative Cloud application. See this link on how to install the CJK versions https://blogs.adobe.com/CCJKType/2017/04/indesign-japanese-with-english-ui.htmlIf it is otherwise, do let us know..

We would be needing a little more information such as...
1. What happens when you click on the "arrows" before each entry of the pre-flight panel
2. Is this issue specific to one document or is reproducible with all documents you create?
3. Are you using the latest version of InDesign ( CC 2017.1)?

To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.
We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.
We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.
If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)

Hi,
I did try running your script on my MAC: OS 10.12.5 machine and it did not crash. I ran the script on the latest InDesign version CC 2017.1. I had logged in as admin to avoid any memory issues.
If you are facing the crash even after restoring your cache and preferences (check: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/526990), do submit a crash report so that it can be looked at. You can also mail me a copy of the crash report at amaarora@adobe.com-Aman

Hi,
I tried using a font manager to see if such a character (the one highlighted in red) even existed in the font, but i could not find one.
Moreover, word too considers the red highlighted portion as 3 characters: (check: https://ibb.co/kpCD4v) In this screen shot I have replaced the “L” with the curvy “L” using the contextual alternates menu in InDesign.If you want the red highlighted portion of your word document as a single glyph (GID 698), then you try the solution as in my comment below (check: https://ibb.co/nc6qjv). Also see how the glyph is in Fontforge (check: https://ibb.co/bQxpuv)

With Adobe Devanagri Script in Regular (Version 2.001), the glyph you need has GID 698. Please see the image https://ibb.co/dUrmpv. I hope you are able to find the glyph now-Aman

Yes we aware of this issue, where the scroll bar suddenly stops working in the glyphs panel.
Are you able to reproduce the bug consistently? If yes, can you please let us know the steps?
