Sharing InDesign Library files (*.indl)
>>>Sharing InDesign Library files (*.indl) with others on my team.
>>I spoke with InDesign "folks" at the recent Adobe MAX conference in Miami, FL, and they suggested using the CC Library to share these files, but they are not allowed to be posted. This was the suggestion given to me at the conference/convention.
>>I need to be able to share access to these files (I have several libraries), but if I'm using InDesign, others can't even open them, much less get the content within.

Guides aligned with cursor and not object
>>>Just updated to InDesign 2025 (v 20.0) and had to switch back to the previous version due to the smart guides functioning strangely. The guides should show up in the center or edge of the object so that I can align it properly on the page and in relation to other objects. Instead, it's producing the guidelines from wherever my cursor is when I click and drag the object. This has made it much more difficult to do simple things like center objects, since it's just centering my cursor instead. I've never had any desire to align things based on where my cursor is. I don't see an option to turn this off.
>>I restarted the program and checked for updates, and there were none. I also turned off and on smart guides, which didn't help. InDesign 2024 is still functioning correctly.

2025 ID - Linked Files fail and just Spin
>>>Mac 14.7 - ID 2025 - Docs with Linked Files (simple PDFs and Jpgs) just produce spinners and never become workable. Display set to Typical. This happens AFTER a file is saved and re-opened. When it is made all is fine, until it is closed and reopened. Have reverted to 2024.

Latest instead of the earliest version required in N-2 policy
>>>Indesign 2024 is buggy on my 27" iMac running mac OS Big Sur. 2025 is not compatible. So I use 2023. Just after the introduction of ID2025, Indesign and Creative Cloud stopped working for some reason and after cleaning my system of Adobe files to have it running again, I only have access to 18.0 instead of the leatest 18.5.X. Why do we only get the earliest version 18.0 and not the latest version of the N-2? Can we get the most recent N-2 version? Thank you.

Inversed Rounded Corners Don't Match on All Sides
>>>When using the Inverse Rounded Corners in Corner Options, the corner shape doesn't match another box right next to it with the same settings when side by side. So when 2 boxes with the same corner options are next to each other it doesn't make a circle in the empty space but rather an angled rounded rectangle. It seems the top left and bottom right are one way and the top right and bottom left are another. It doesn't matter if the boxes are the same size or different. This issue was present in both InDesign 2020 and 2024 versions for testing. This was not an issue previously.

Data Merge window "white box" covering data
>>>InDesign 20. Just upgraded and now all my data merge documents are not showing the data in the window. There is a white box over that pallette window. I tried dragging the window out but it still persists. I opened all my merge documents and they are all showing the same white box over the data fields. I contacted support via chat and they advised me to install an older version of InDesign. That solves the problem but I cannot upgrade to the new InDesign.

scrolling text frame
>>>When publishing my file online, a gap appears in the text within the scrolling text frame. (see attachment) The gap seems to be aligned to the place where the text hits the bottom of the container frame. There are no extra characters causing this gap in the text. I had the same issue with a document a year ago, but it looks like this bug is still there.
>>Version: Indesign 2025
>>Steps to reproduce issues:
>
> •Paste longer text box into container box.
> •Align content to top left.
> •Use overlays panel, choose "Scrollable frame," Scroll direction: vertical, Initial content position: Upper left, Export Format : Vector
> •Publish Online > Publish>Expected result: text scrolls and appearance remains same as text in original large content box
>>Actual result: text scrolls but a gap appears - in approximately the same location as where the text hits the bottom of the container frame.

Comments in a review are stripped after I upgraded to the latest version of InDesign
>>>Today I updated InDesign to the latest version (20.0, Windows). A client had left some comments in an online review initiated through the previous version, and now those comments are all stripped from the document when I open it in v20.0.

Alternate glyphs change order unpredicatably
>>>If I show some alternate glyphs (whether in the tiny popup - can we resize this? - or in the Glyphs panel), when I select one, the order of the other glyphs changes. This is really annoying - can they PLEASE stay in the same order, so I can easily switch between them. The current (wrong) system goes like this:
>
> Type a word
> Highlight a character
> The miniscule glyphs pop-up pops up
> I choose the second (miniscule) glyph in the pop-up
> I don't really like it
> I choose the third glyph in the pop-up
> Hold on - isn't that the same as the original one? Oh, all the glyphs have moved around - why??
> I choose the first one in the list - is that the same as the one in the second position originally? I think so...maybe - let's check...OH GRRRR!! They've all moved around AGAIN! WHY?!>If they all stayed in the same place, choosing them would be MUCH easier and less painful. Please keep them in position and don't randomly shuffle them about for no reason! It's as if you took a leaf out of Windows' book and got inspiration from the fundamentally flawed Task Switcher which also re-arranges the order of things each time, just to annoy the user.

Whenever I use psd files in the links the pdf export file becomes huge like 10x bigger than when I a flatted version
>>>I have a digital catalogue and in working with lots of psd in the links. To create a small pdf I have to instead of links the psd, to export to png and than put it in the indesign. This is a hassle when I have to edit the psd because i hav to take so many extra steps for a minor adjustment. Instead Indesign shoulde be handling the images conversion and flatening. And yes, I'm checking the export only appearce on the export.

InDesign v19.5: Data Merge Problems with Diacritical
>>>InDesign v19.5: Data Merge Problems with Diacritical
>>I wanted to use "Data Merge" again after a while, but I found that it no longer works as it did in the previous version (v18). In the old version (v18), "Data Merge" worked correctly with diacritics, but in the current version (v19.5), it does not, and it's definitely not a font issue (I’ve tried all of them). The ".csv" file is exactly the same as the one used before, and when I use the old version, everything works as it should. The problem occurs with certain characters, such as "Š", "Č" and "Ř," which are used in my language, Czech. The CSV is exported from Excel (MS Office).
>>I have not modified any preferences or settings in InDesign; everything is set to the default.

pdf import corrections
>>>Indesign 19,.5 Imac 2020. When there are many corrections in a file it would be great if after accepting the correction, the correction would be deleted from the list of corrections, because Indesign can become very slow with 700+ corrections. And whats the use of keeping it in the list after accepting the correction.

Deleting spreads takes many minutes
>>>The time it takes to delete spreads increases with the number of spreads being deleted. To delete 200 spreads in one go, it takes ten to twenty minutes. This operation should be instantaneous.

- >with no frame selected a style is chosen (p.a. Style-A) >
- >click in a frame, selected Style is different (p.e. Style-B) >
- >Word is imported (formatting removed, local overrides kept) -> Text (even if cursor is within text formatted in Style-B) is formatted in Style-A >
>This is bad p.e. when italics is needed as local override, and the wrong style is italics too (then evereything is italcs ...).

Keyboard shortcuts to resize assets suddenly stop working
>>>InDesign V19.5 on MacOS Sequoia 15.0.1.
>>Keyboard shortcuts to resize assets on a spread stop working once a document has been open for a while. Shortcuts such as CMD+ALT+Click to resize container box and the asset within, while maintaining proportions, CMD+click to resize container, while maintaining proportions, don't work.
>>The only fix I've found is to restart my Mac. Closing and reopening InDesign doesn't fix the issue.

"Failed to place PDF" with a PDF file created in Canva
>>>Trying to import a client supplied PDF, created in the paid version of Canva and saved as a CMYK print quality PDF (not flattened). Will not place into InDesign. I've tried various and no import options and it does not work. I have placed this PDF into Adobe Illustrator and Affinity Publisher 2 without issue.

review search
>>>When sharing a review: On the review web page, there is no longer a possibility to search for text. This makes reviewing long documents with many pages nearly impossible. Reviewers have to manually go through all the pages to find the content that's relevant.
>>Until around mid-2024, it was possible to use the browser's search function (CTRL+F). This has been disabled. Even if enforced (entering search through the browser's menu), it does not work.
>>To me, having no possibility to search for text in a document that should be reviewed, sounds like a severe, obvious oversight and should be addressed immediately. I only waited a few weeks before posting this here because I thought this had to be a bug that would be fixed anyway.
