  3. syntax issue in exported pdf out of latest ID Version

    Was exporting a simple white pdf created with Indesign and High Print Quality Profile. Preflight is saying that there is a syntax-issue (General File Format Error).
    Using the latest Version of Indesign. Thats happening with every pdf at the moment.

  4. Variable font doesn't...vary.

    I just installed the new Macklin variable fonts from Monotype. They work as expected in Illustrator, and the "regular" cut works as expected in InDesign. However, the Macklin Sans font dosen't work well in InDesign: the prebuilt weights are functional, but when one varies the axis sliders, they seem to have no effect. Bug in the font or in InDesign?

  5. Page transitions not working when published online to Adobe

    When I publish online from InDesign, any page transitions that have been applied to pages do not work. The pages simply appear. All animations work well, but the page push that I set as a transition does not work. Hopefully someone has a solution for this? If I use a plugin like in5 I can get the desired effect. Hopefully Adobe can add the same functionality that In5 has.   6. Dictionary language list is grayed out everywhere in InDesign ME 2019, 2020 macOS Mojave

      Install InDesign Middle Eastern Version, open the language List, all languages are greyed out.

      Not to be greyed out

  7. Can't add extra space before a styled paragraph

    I need to add a few points of space before a styled paragraph to base align two columns. I add them in the paragraph box, but nothing happens and then the amount reverts to the original amount. How can I override? Never had this problem with previous versions of ID; I'm using the newest one.

  8. InDesign .indd Files Opening in After Effects

    1 - InDesign CC version 14.0.2
    2 - Double click a .indd file in bridge
    3 - Opens in InDesign
    4 - Opens in After Effects

    I've reinstalled InDesign and reset the default program in windows. Any help with this would be appreciated.

  9. Speech note bar for oral presentation

    I propuse a speech bar (under each pages) to write his speech for an oral presentation. It can be really usefull when you prepare a diaporama for a presentation and know what say.

    When you finished your diaporama document, you can directly print all your speech separetly & begin to prepare oral.

  10. Indesign CC2018 crashes on Cmd-V

    I'm working on my masters and using a Split Window to copy and paste text from the same document into a list of references. Cmd-V crashes Indesign. With no warning, or hang, it literally shows me the desktop, no save, nothing. Thankfully auto recover sorts it out, but this is something Adobe needs to look at. I can't tell if there is anything special about the text other than it was a web link and had a paragraph style.

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

    If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)

    when trying to export from the recent indesign the options that i normally use are greyed out. see attached sceenshot, i have tried this on another computer and all seems fine, both are running mojave and indesign 2019

  12. Import dialog box drag and drop

    We used to be able to bring up the import dialog (or open, or save as too) and then drag and drop a file or folder from the Finder to be able to either go to that folder or import that file. Since upgrading to Mojave and InDesign 14.0.1 that functionality no longer works. Sometimes it does but mostly it doesn't.. It now copies whatever you've dragged into the currently open folder in InDesign. This was a real time saver before and is now a pain. It may be an Apple thing but I thought I'd post it here to…

  13. Curves from Illustrator are straight lines in InDesign but fine when exported to PDF

    I have a graphic that I've created in Illustrator that one of the curves displays as straight lines when viewed in InDesign. Export it to PDF and it displays as it should. The grey circle that this element sits on renders correctly in both. We have had this on files in the past. Any ideas?

  14. The pdf file I export is not the same with the file I saw in my screen!

    The pdf file I export is not the same with the file I saw in my screen. The preview when I working in indesign is wrong. So when I put my cursor in a line to make a corrections this correction is done about 3 or 4 lines below my selection.

  15. doesn't recognize new files copied to my hard drive

    latest InDesign CC doesn't show new files copied to my hard drive - If I re-name files it shows the old name - no phone no chat no thing!

    I can confirm files are there with explorer but when I go FILE OPEN they aren't there - tried copying to other directories - still not there - tried re-booting, closing opening program again all that

    We have released an update for InDesign CC2019 (v 14.0.1) which contains fixes for some key issues. If you are not already on 14.0.1 (build 209), then we recommend you to update to latest version.

    If you still face this issue even after updating, please send the following information to santalwa@adobe.com :

    • Error snapshot or video recording of the issue.

  16. Index Sorting is not matching with Microsoft Word Sorting feature

    We received an escalation from our client that sorting on the index entries generated from InDesign is not matching with MS-Word sorting.   18. Digits after spaces appear out of order

    1. InDesign CC 2017.1
      I had previously used Arabic support, and this may be contributing to the problem, even after changing Preferences back to "English (North America)" the problem persists.

    2. Create text box. Type any digit, then a space, then any digit.

    3. Digits should appear left to right.

    4. The digit after the space jumps to the left of the first digit and includes a space after. Cursoring with arrow keys through the type makes the cursor position jump around, so the misplaced digit is still reading as after sequentially, but is now to the left of the previous digits (really screwy!).
