   this is a bug, not a suggestion of new feature. On a page with Master Page A applied, the feature in Master Page A is detectable , pickable, and get union with object added to the page (e.g. a picture become embedded in the master page black rectangle )

2. SWF export showing blank page

   I have tried to export a 673 pages Indesign file into a SWF file, unfortunately after exporting its showing a blank page. nothing working like the interactivity, page curl etc. Also I need to export it into a Interactive PDF how to do that.. Please help.

3. InDesign files from CC to CS6 - hypenation won't work anymore

   In advance:
   - Our external writers send us InDesign CC files (idml and indd)
   - We open and save them in InDesign CS6
   - Our customers use InDesign CS6

   1. Version:
      InDesign CS6 8.0
      InDesign CC from 12.0 to 14.0.2 (others not tested)

   2. Steps:
      Since when: between 10 and 17. April 2019 (last time it worked on 10. April 2019)

   2.a Open InDesign CC (any version, i tested 12.0, 13.1, 14.0.1 and 14.0.2)
   2.b Save a file with activated hypenation (either indd or idml, both tested)
   2.c Open either one of 2.b. in CS6

   1. Expected result:
      Hypenation works as usual in CS6. Text fits frames.

   2. Actual result:

   3. Hypenation doesn't work in CS6 which resluts in text frames having overflow

   4. Test files and information:
      Already tested:

   5. de- and reactivating hypenation in CS6

   6. checking for "no break" option

   7. checking every used paragraph- and character-format

   8. checking user dictionary options

   9. checking language options

   10. checking autocorrection options

   11. saved the file as idml and indd in CC 12.0, 13.1, 14.0.1, 14.0.2 and then opened it in CS6

   12. contacted support

   In advance:

4. Mp4 not work at "Place from URL" Option

   I have place mp4 files from "Place from URL" option in the document and its place nicely when I have prepared epub and publish online then doc display empty page after discussion with adobe they told me that mp4 not compatible, so i have to convert video in FLV extension then it will work, which is impossible for me. MP4 is most useful extension and Adobe need to solve this and make mp4 compatible for it.

   Keep in Mind when we place from "Place from URL" Not direct placing of MP4 file, "Place form URL" Option.

5. PDF-export: Small images (icons) seem corrupt on right side when compression is on

   Indesign: 14.0.2. x64
   Acrobat: 2019.010.20100

   Win 10 pro x64, 1809 up to date

   So small images look strange and you can see they appear corrupt on the right side. In the last 15 years I have never experienced an issue like this so I would like to know if this is an ordinary behaviour which I ran into by chance or bad luck.

   The used image is a scaled down image of a rather small photoshop-file.

   At first I thought my guides might cut the images, but they don´t. I worked on the .PSD file, I increased the size of the image containers/frames, which took me over an hour of wasted time and thus: money - before I realized the PDF-export might be the problem.
   A regular day of work with Adobe apps I guess. grml.

   But: it might be a regular behaviour caused by the combination of file and the way the recompression works.

   Image bug1 shows what it looks like in the indesign doc, as u can see with enlarged outer frame box.
   Image bug2 shows what it looks like after PDF export. You can see it is not right when printed too, so it is not a bug of representation.
   Image bug3 shows the PDF settings I use since I can think of for print files.

   Sorry I can´t show larger images as I am not allowed to show content by contract.

   Unfortunately I have no time to try multiple scenarios or (compression) settings so in this case we just deal with a bigger file size.

6. boxes in all control panels can not be activaded

   In every control panel (no matter where) text or values in the boxes can not be activated. To enter new values or text, I have to delete each letter individually, forwards or backwards. This is very annoying.
   When will this bug finally be fixed?

7. Cross reference formats

   Indesign 13.1, Windows
   When editing a cross reference format there is a button to insert special characters such as "opening simple quotation mark" and "closing simple quotation mark" which should look like ,this'. Instead, the resulting opening character is an asterisk (*) and the closing character is a plus (+) -> *this+

9. Slow performance with DFS Namespace

   I'm having problem with Indesign and file and folder on a DFS Namespace, Export takes lot of time while locally no problem. I've tried disabling background export, same problem.

10. storing files on desktop

    Not an idea, but a problem...InDesign support is telling me that I need to store my customer's book (a catalog) on my desktop AND all the associated images...that's impossible...there are over 1300 images in this 180 page book.
    ID crashed three consecutive times today trying to open the book to change the dates which appear on the master pages...I'm using the most updated version of creative cloud in a windows 10 environment...
    Any ideas of how to fix this? InDesign seems like a very unstable software to have come from a premier (and premium) software company like Adobe.

11. Idml export issues

    I have a file that won't export a fully formed .idml file. Here's my setup.

    MacOS Mojave 10.14.4
    InDesign 14.0.2.324

    Steps to reproduce: export or save one particular file as .idml format; open resulting .idml file.

    Expected result: file should open as a new document.

    Actual result: an error dialog pops up saying the file cannot be opened, with the error 'not well formed.'

    This only occurs with one particular file, but it occurs on any Mac used to export the file, and with InDesign version 14.0.3

    I have also tried to open the CC 2019 file in CC 2018, and export an .idml from cc 2018, but I get the same error opening the file.

12. CC 2019 crashes on macOS when running SDK plug-in

    Specifically, the crashes at code "actionManager->PerformAction(activeContext, kOpenStructureWinActionID)".
    Our code uses that action to show/hide the structure view.
    And the crash also be reproducable in the sample plugin from InDesign SDK.

    Only occurs on macOS, Windows do not have the issue.

    The steps are:
    1. Compile the plugin "SnippetRunner.sdk.InDesignPlugin" which is in InDesign CC 2019 SDK.
    2. Load it in InDesign.
    3. Create a new blank document
    4. On SnippetRunner[US] panel, select ManipulateStructureView from dropdown list.
    5. Click Go icon, and choose ChangeStructureViewState(toogle)
    6. Click OK button
    7. Crash.

13. Hyperlinks copy/pasted between files *appear* to break after source document is removed.

    Using CC2019 on a Mac running High Sierra

    Steps to reproduce:
    1) Create a document with a few hyperlinks in it.
    2) Whilst this document is open, open a 2nd document, and copy/paste the links from one document to the other.
    3) Save both and close.
    4) Trash source document

    Expected result: hyper links should work in Target document as expected.

    Actual result: hyperlinks all appear broken in document. Whilst an exported PDF appears to still work, ID reports all those links as broken.

    Other details:
    If you retrieve the source document from the trash, it the links in the target document suddenly start working again, meaning your not actually pasting the hyperlink, but theres some sort of link that exists between the source and target document.

    Saving target file as a new file, saving as idml, has no effect – those links are still tied to the source document.

    This in an absolute tragedy if you are working on large documents with lots of links, and needs fixing ASAP

14. Fonts menu selection doesn't work well (it skips some fonts randomly)

    On a 2011 27" iMac 3,1 Ghz with SSD drive, with the last High Sierra and InDesign CC 2019 (14.0.2) versions, the fonts selection menu doesn't work well. Please see attached video. This is really annoying because it seems to happen randomly. Thanks for your help. Regards.

15. 3 types of consistent crashes during past 3 months

    Using version 14.0.2 x64 under Windows 10.

    Working on a 356-page book. Three types of crashes occur consistently:

    1 - When I export to PDF.
    2 - When I add pages, usually in increments of 10.
    3 - When I switch between single-page layout and 2-page spread layout.

    After every crash, when I go to open the file, inDesign offers to auto recover the file. When I say yes, InDesign warns me that the file might be corrupt. I always open anyway. After 3 months working on this book, I can't afford to start over, so I hope for the best.

    Three of the crashes have caused significant problems.

    1 - The first 38 pages had been deleted. I had to completely redo them.
    2 - The even-page master had been applied to all pages. I had to highlight all the odd pages and re-apply the odd-page master.
    3 - Tonight's crash resulted in master pages designations and therefore page numbers on all 356 pages being deleted. I have to highlight all the odd pages, re-apply the odd-page master, highlight all the even pages, and re-apply the even-page master.

    I have been using InDesign since the PageMaker days but my experience over these past three months is going to cause me to look elsewhere.... Word, Blurb, etc.

    Using version 14.0.2 x64 under Windows 10.

17. Macintosh InDesign V14.0.2. Freezes everytime I open it. Mojave operating system.

    I can't use InDesign as it freezes everytime I open it. I have a brand new Mac Mini with Mojave. I have removed 14.0.2 and am loading an older version that actually worked - 13.1. Please let me know when 14.0.2 is working.

18. Italics not showing in InDesign CC2019 - but does in all other versions

    I have a .docx file that when brought into InDesign CC2019 (14.0.2) the italics do not show. The italics show in all other versions of InDesign. This is worrying for when we work on long documents. The error still occurs if the file is changed to a .doc file.

    Can you please tell me what part of text in the word file is not imported as italics in Indesign?
    The italics portion in the word file are:
    Australian Book Review
    H-France Review
    je ne sais quoi

    all of which are imported as italics in InDesign

19. Pasted text acquires overprint attribute

    Copying a number of items from one document to another, all of the text that did not have an outline had its overprint attribute turned on, despite being off in the source file. It was particularly annoying to fix because most of the text was white (Paper swatch), for which the overprint setting is uneditable: I had to turn all the white text to a different colour, uncheck the overprint, then make it white again. (Using InDesign v14.0.2 on Mac OS v10.12.6.)

    IMO there should never be a reason to overprint items using the Paper swatch anyway, so this attribute should get turned off rather than just being disabled, which has the effect of ‘locking in’ the current state no matter how inappropriate.

20. Errors in grep-processing in 2019

    Some days ago was message about error in usage grep-queries and patch to fix it.
