  2. Index sorting in Book-document in Danish/Norwegian

    I'm using InDesign version 16.0. There is a problem with sorting alphabetically when using Danish/Norwegian with Book-function. This only happens from the second letter and on.

    The first letters in words sort correctly.

    Here's an example for the letter Ø, which should sort after Z and Æ:

    ‘Tørres’ is sorted before ‘Torstein’ (which means ø is here sorted under o). This only happens when sorting an index from two or more documents linked with the Book-function.

  3. Location of link,indd & export files

    INDD CC on PC win10
    Working with local files and 2 LAN locations.
    1) Sick of Indd updating every week and forgetting file locations.
    2) the two options "Original Link folder" and "most recent Relink Folder" are meaningless.
    I would like to be able to drag a job folder from the network and work on it with Indesign first looking in that local folder for its links, link folder and fonts instead of the original job folder on the LAN.

    Why? - lets say I had an idea and want to test it without ruining the Main job. I make…

  8. New Share tutorial animation loops continuously when opening ID, with no affordance to terminate.

    When opening the application, ID can dramatically improve the user experience and the opportunity to show new features (in this case, the new Share feature) by giving the user a choice to opt-into learning about a said new feature by presenting the user with a [yes | no | maybe later | never show again] dialog message.

    Currently, on a MacBook Pro running Catalina (10.15.7), ID 2021 immediately starts looping a tutorial animation within a fairly large overlay which appears to be intended to promote the new Share functionality. This all happens immediately when the rest of the UI is…

  9. Can't access free templates

    If you create software, and have templates that are labeled free. There should be no reason why I need a adobe stock account to access FREE TEMPLATES!!

    If it requires said license, it should say, REQUIRES ADOBE STOCK LICENCE

    If you are going to offer a product and put a paywall subscription behind it, that you can't access. What is the point of paying for a product that you can't access FREE content or basic options to try out.

    Who ever designed that, needs to re-word it.

    As you can tell, not a happy client.

  10. ID print postscript to network drive failed to create file.

    When using InDesign CC 2021 to print postscript file to a network drive. There is always no file created as the filesize is 0 byte. What's wrong with InDesign CC ? I don't have this problem with InDesign CS6.

  12. InDesign _ images in viewport changes scale, even if loacked

    I have an seem to be running into this issue on multiple occasions. I lock the viewport, save file/close the InDesign file.
    When I go to open the file again, the scale of the image in the locked viewport is changed, and goes outside the viewport. I am forced to rescale the images again. Is this a bug? How can I prevent this from happening?

  13. share for review isn't working for client

    My client gets: File preview error. File preview not available, please reload to try again.
    They can see the document icon to click on in the "Shared with me" but when they click on it, it gives the the: File preview not available, please reload to try again. They are on Windows if that helps. It appears to be working for everybody else that it was shared with.
    Update Resaved file with new name, reshared, all is working!

  15. paragraph format

    Can't create a new paragraph format. To be more presice, I can't change the font settings itself (fontstyle, size etc.)

    It should look like the others underlined in green.

  16. When will Indesign (and the whole adobe package) work with properly with Catalina?

    Indesign keeps crashing, version 2021, and earlier versions - tried this. Illustrator and photoshop, acrobat too. Very frustrating, luckily been able to work on my laptop instead. But as a good customer I am paying for software that isn't compatible with the platform that it is used with constantly? The update panel forces one to upgrade the OS and then it crashes. Pleaaaase fix this. 2020 is sad enough already

  17. idml rechtecke verschoben

    Beim speichern in der 2020 Version als IDML und dann dem Öffnen bei einer anderen Person, die die 2018 Version hat, wurden Breiten/Höhen geändert und das Rechteck ist verrutscht statt X/Y 0/0 auf 0,88/0,88.

    Das ist für exakte Arbeit bedenklich und man kann dem System dadurch weniger vertrauen, es sollte also eine Lösung gefunden werden, sodass es in jeder Version gleich ist

    Beim erneuten öffnen der idml in der 2020 Version, in der es gespeichert wurde, sitzt alles wieder normal wie vorher.

  18. Place dialogue blank

    The place dialogue is often a nearly blank/greyed-out box. Sometime ID crashes, sometimes it allows me to a place the file through the dialogue, sometimes the dialogue disappears when I click the pasteboard. It happens seemingly randomly.

  19. Layout drop down does not work

    When I click on the layout menu dropdown and select any of the options like move pages, delete, duplicate, etc. Nothing happens. I have the most recent version of InDesign. I also get a default option when I click on the File drop down options and requires me to restart so I can save, export to pdf etc.. This is incredibly frustrating.
