  1. can't type in text box

    I create a text box, but when I type in it, no text appears. My keyboard works, and the rest of InDesign's functions work. And I'm updated to the most recent version of INDD--v16.1.

  2. Page/Spread Duplicate and Place doesn't work after last update update

    When duplicating pages (or spreads) using Option (on Mac) and dragging inside "Pages" window, it no longer allows you to drag this duplicate anywhere in the page order list, but all the way at the end. This is extremely inefficient now and a lot more work to re-organize pages again after the duplicate is made. This is frustrating since this was a feature before and now it's gone. Please, bring it back.

  3. Coruppt HTML Export in Indesign v16

    I have a document, which is created in an older Indesign-Version. It contains many HTML-Export Tags - no Problem in Indesign v14 (CC 2019) and v15 (2020). When I export a HTML-File from Indesign v16 (2021), all n-characters in the span-class-Attribute are replaced with blanks!

    there is a problem about exporting arabic text. it seems normal in text edit but in ms word it seems mistaken. is it about word or indd?when copying arabic text to ms word the same issue goes on

  7. Can not open an IDML file

    I lost the .indd file and unable to open the file in .idml. He tells me that InDesign does not support this type of file or an extension is missing. ??? Yet everything works normally for other .idml files

  8. After most recent auto update to InDesign the cursor is disappearing and the app freezes for 5-10 sec

  9. Public Share for Review requires Login

    Previously, I have been able to generate a public, password protected link to send to my reviewers, and they have been able to see the document without logging in. This is certainly my preferred workflow.

    When they tried to view a document today, it now requires a login. Even with the password disabled, it requires a login.

    Allowing public comments is turned on, but the login prompt appears even before the document is displayed.

    Was this intentional with the latest release?

  10. Restore apps bar on the top

    The current ID version is much worse then CS 5.5. You took the options from the apps bar on the top. And now I have to click and click and click to set the option (textframe optionpns, frame options and so on) and I am very angry about that. Please, let them come back. I want to set what I want with one click, like before.

  12. Placing MS Word documents

    Hi,

    I am designing a Journal in InDesign with over 50 articles. All the articles are done with MS Word with footnotes etc. After placing about 45 articles I found that in some placed articles the fonts have changed in certain pragraphs. Since I noticed this at the tail end, I did some experiments and placed the next article with the option "Redefine InDesign style" selected and the exact fonts were placed. But to my surprise there are 90 errors in the already placed 45 articles.

  13. Cross reference page number not appearing

    While attempting to populate page numbers as cross references the leading text shows up, but the area where the number itself should be appears as a narrow blue box with a pound sterling icon beside it. An attempt to create a new document to test and only importing a couple of elements has cross references crash the program as soon as they are created and applied.

  14. Image not populating in Data Merge

    I have a file in which I merge in a PDF of a page, along with some variable text. I was seeing an ongoing issue where, when turning on Preview, the PDF image wouldn't appear, but there would also be no error.

    After trying a few things, I realized that placing the pdf I wanted (on the pasteboard) while choosing an appropriate "crop to" setting, then turning Preview off and then on solved the problem.

    I often place images with bleed, and the pdf file in question didn't have a bleed box, so I believe it was failing to import…

  15. inDesign - Banner warning first time using and preferences may have changed

    WHEN NEW VERSION IS OPENED FIRST TIME
    Can you put up a banner the first time that tells me all my preferences may have blown out because this is a new version to remind me to check?
    Would not help me with this blowing out all the time...

    Yes - I should check color settings prior to printing...

  16. Emptiing a text frame when making corrections

    Very often, when making corrections of the text, a text frame (not the one I am working on) is emptied and the text moves one page forward creating overflowed text. In most cases it happens on the next page, but sometimes it can be some other text frame -- forward or backward. I can't tell what is the reason of this behavior because it is different every time.

  17. Suddenly you can not save your document in any way.

    You get no warning but suddenly tools etc does not work as supposed and you can not save your work in any way.
    If you use force quit it does not say "not responding" though.

    It happens in this new version and with system BIG SUR on iMac

  18. idml crashes InDesign 16.1 Big sur - MacMini M1

    I'm running InDesign 2021 16.1 and Big Sur, and a Mac Mini M1 chip. Every time I save an IDML file, then try to open the .idml InDesign will crash upon opening the IDML.
    I can open the original INDD file, but not the IDML.

  19. InDesign Partage pour révision ne s'affiche pas en ligne si on est connecté é ADOBE CC

    Le lien URL Partage pour révision ne s'affiche pas dans le navigateur si on est connecté à Adobe CC .
    Il faut ainsi se déconnecter de ADOBE pour pouvoir voir le lien URL de partage de révision et ainsi faire les commentaires.
    C'est très ennuyeux !
    Il serait bien qu'avant de lancer des fonctionnalités, qu'elles soient testées en amont.

  20. Überschreiben von PDF-Dateien öffnet anstatt neue die alte Datei aus dem Cache

    Das ist sehr sehr böse und passiert nur wenn man zwischendurch Akrobat nicht schliesst. Gott-sei-dank fiel mir das auf, denn ich wollte daraus eine PDFx3 schreiben und hätte dann die falsche Datei mit Fehlern, die eigentlich korrigiert waren, rausgeschickt.
