  1. Error when trying to read an accessible PDF generated by Indesign with a screen reader.

    I'm using CC 2023, InDesign. I made a PDF accessible through InDesign, however, when opening it in Acrobat and trying to read it with assistive technology (NVDA) the PDF gives an error and closes.

  2. In view of indexed terms in Index Panel the character "&" disappears

    not an idea, a bug: In view of indexed terms in Index Panel the character "&" disappears. It still is set but not seen..

  3. Share for review not updating

    Clicking "update link " in indesign acts normally, but when i follow the link, and old version of the file displays in the proof. This happens even when restarting indesign and creating a new review.

  4. objects in a page disappear when reapplying master page to that page

    INDD v18.2.1
    this is a new bug in CC

    On a page, when re-applying the same master page (e.g parent A) to it, all text frame box will disappear. Why do I wanna reapply the same master page to it? Because sometimes the text box is moved by accident, so I re-apply the master page so that it will go back to the original position. It used to work in order versions of INDD. Not anymore.

    Is this a bug or a feature that no longer exist? Please fix. thank you.

  5. When deleting or adding one single page in the middle of a facing page document, the images in the pages that follow will shift of misalign

    INDD V.18.2.1 (it applies to V17 too)
    Hi developers, this is a long-lasting problem n it really affects work flow.

    In a multiple facing page document, if you delete or add one single left or right hand page (in my example it's p.36), all the images in the pages that follow will shift in their positions. And if you add one page, then delete that page, the images will not go back to their original position. Allow document or spread to shuffle is checked. This is a MAJOR issue when you are working on document over 100 pages.

  6. RGB Gray are not exported in PDF with the same values.

    InDesign Version: 18.2.1 x64

    When setting a gray scale in InDesign with different patches of equal R=G=B and inspecting the resulting PDF the % values are correct but when inspecting the color values in Acrobat Pro Object Inspector there are some slight differences in the R G and B components.
    When doing the same in Illustrator with the same profiles and exporting settings the components are equals.

  7. Screen Draws Bizarre Patterns

    This has been happening for the past several versions. Im using ID 2023 on a 27" 2019 31. Mhz iMac with 64GB. It runs a Raedon Pro 575X 4GB.

    While I am moving the document, sometimes these bizarre dark patterns form. Sometimes it happens when just an item is moved on the document. But it appears to be random. Scrolling off the page and back onto it seems to solve it.

    This only happens in InDesign. None of the other Adobe apps or other graphic apps have this issue. So it leads me to believe it is not the video…

  8. Unrecognizable when Color Setting is set to Japanese name

    OS : Windows 10/11
    InDesign : 18.1/ 17.4/16.4.3 (probably all versions)

    If I save a color setting with a Japanese name, the next time I open the color setting, an error occurs and it is not recognized.
    When I check the list, it is garbled and cannot be loaded.
    The same problem does not occur when the same color settings are used in Illustrator.

    Since this problem occurs in a Japanese environment, the contents of the screenshots and attached file names are in Japanese.

    カラー設定を日本語名で保存した場合、次にカラー設定を開いたときにエラーが発生して認識できません。
    リストを確認すると文字化けしているため、読み込めない状態となっています。
    同じカラー設定をIllustratorで利用した場合は同じ問題は発生しません。

    日本語環境で起きる問題であるため、スクリーンショットの内容や添付ファイル名は日本語です。

  9. Random display issue

    ID on a Apple M1 Max (OS 12.6) occasionally and randomly makes crazy displays. It is resolved when I quit and reopen the file, but still…

    First image is what the document should look like. Second image is what it becomes. Kinda cool, but not my intent.

  10. The shortcut for Bridge opens Bridge every day, repeatedly by mistake. Can it be altered?

    It's kind of a bug since it opens when I don't want it to, so I placed my question here. As I type, every day I open Bridge by mistake. Can I change the shortcut, or disable it, and how do I even find it?

    As far as a bug alert, could Adobe change the default shortcut to Bridge, so it doesn't open 10 or more times a day as book editors like me edit text for 8 hours. I don't even know what I am typing incorrectly to open Bridge.

  11. PDF/X-1a運用において、危険度が高い「画像の配置方法」を発見しましたので報告させていただきます。

    Indesign （15.1.3）（16.4）（17.3）などで以下の現象を確認できます。
    表を作成し、「セルをグラフィックセルに変換」という機能を使用せずに、空のままのセル内に画像を配置します。
    配置方法は、何も選択していない状態で「ファイル」、「配置」、画像を選択して「開く」、配置先のセルをクリックといったものです。
    この配置方法でドキュメントを作成し、「プリント」より出力して確認したところ何の問題もありません。
    印刷会社へ渡すためのPDF/X-1aを「書き出し」より出力します。
    期待する結果としては、「プリント」からの出力結果と同等のPDFが作成されることです。
    実結果は、Illustratorのドロップシャドウが黒ベタに、同ぼかし効果が無効に、Photoshopのレイヤマスクが黒ベタになったPDFが作成されてしまいます。
    以上です。

  12. Path to images in linked InDesign documents not adjusted when packaged

    I have packaged an InDesign document with linked InDesign documents for the printer. The images inside the packaged InDesign files have the wrong path, it has not been adjusted to the packaged images.

    Our printer has printed the product therefor without the linked images which is a desaster. Please fix linked image paths within linked InDesign documents.

    InDesign 18.3 x64 Windows

    When exporting PNG images, INDD errs on the side of light exports at edges vs. rounding to a surrounding black level as demonstrated in the attached PDF.

  14. Why can't InDesign import and edit pdfs or images without plug in

    When I try to import pdf or jpeg into Adobe InDesign 2023 desktop it says required plug in is missing. Since I am paying monthly for the full 2023 version why do I need a plug in? I am on older computer that uses Windows 10. Will I have this problem if I upgrade my computer?

  15. Converted linked InDesign document saved in last used folder, not folder where it lives

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Have an InDesign document with a linked InDesign document. That linked document is saved by an older version.
    2. Open linked document by Alt-double clicking.
    3. Save file. You are now presented with the last used folder, not the folder that the linked document lives in.

    This USED to work fine.

  16. Persistent place in Creative Cloud folders

    I would love it if my location within a cloud folder was persistent. In other words, if I wasn't always put back to the root directory of my Creative Cloud files. As it is, I have to navigate back into my folders each time I want to save or place or do almost anything. This wastes a lot of time.

  17. Adjust Layout Options - retain object adjustment but lock ruler guides in place

    When ruler guides are locked and the option to adjust locked content is deselected, the guides still move proportional to the margins. There needs to be an option to treat ruler guides as objects are treated, where it's possible to actually lock the ruler guides in place while still utilizing Adjust Layout.

  19. eyedropper still not picking up font type style weight -- adds a stroke to outside or color to the text box.

    eyedropper not picking up font or style; it picks up color sometimes & stroke sometimes. it is glitchy to the max. unstable, unreliable. USED TO WORK. a long time ago...in a land far, far away.

    It generally succeeds picking up object styles. otherwise BIG FAIL regarding fonts, font colors, font weight. it misses completely.

  20. Multiple copy paste functions

    I have been using the Indesign program for a long time. He has made very good progress. This is what I expect from you. We can only paste one copy with the copy paste command. It would be great if it could copy multiple texts separately. For example, when copy-pasting 3 or 5 different texts, you need to do each one by one. It would be much more practical if we could copy them all and name them like copy 1 copy 2 copy 3 and paste 1 paste 2 paste 3 options while pasting. I wish you good luck…
