1. Adobe Fonts: Licensed with Creative Cloud but marked as "not allowed, protected" in Preflight, InDesign

   Please help me: I'm using two fonts for a book soon to be published. I have activated the fonts in Creative Cloud. I work in InDesign. Now a Preflight check tells me that my fonts are "Not Allowed: Protected" (that's the only way to translate that message from Swedish). How do I solve this??? (The fonts I'm using are Minion Pro and Myriad Pro). I thought my InDesign recognised licenses from Creative Cloud. Have I misunderstood this completely? Desperate, please give me clue.. 2. can't maKE a new document

   I just updated from 2020 to 2021 version.
   Now, when trying to create a new document, the dialogue works as expected but when clicking (create) nothing happens.
   Even after restarting the whole system, we are running on a PC

3. Text frame indented

   When I move a text frame to the top left corner of a page, the first line of the text is automatically indented. How can I solve this problem? Thanks

5. Export

   When exporting (CC2021, Big Sur) JPG from page to OSX Serve (OSX10.10.5), file size is 0 KB, but when export to desktop file is ok. No matter what JPG settings are. No error message. Other exports (pdf, epub) goes well.

6. The Book panel does not remember its size and location

   The Book panel is the only panel in InDesign that doesn't remember its size and position when you close and re-open it.

   Steps to reproduce:

   1. Create a new book (File > New > Book). The book panel is shown at the centre of the screen. No need to add documents to it.
   2. Move the panel to another location on the screen, and change its size in the usual way (click-drag on a corner of the panel).
   3. Save the book and close it.
   4. Re-open the book.

   Expected behaviour: the book panel is opened at the same location and at the same size as when you closed it.

   Actual behaviour: the book panel is opened at the centre of the screen at the size it was when you created it.

   The Book panel is the only panel in InDesign that doesn't remember its size and position when you close and re-open it.

   Book panel is a special type of panel that is always associated with the .INDB file – unlike other panels where there is no actual association with a file on disk. The panel also shows the name of the Book file. If that INDB file is deleted, then the panel does not have any meaning.
   Only when the Book file is opened is the Book panel available. So it can’t be part of a workspace & thus its size and location also can’t be fixed as there could be multiple Book files that can be opened simultaneously.

7. Indd-generated QR code disappears in Print-PDF

   When exporting a print pdf, a qr code that has been generated within inDesign does not appear in the pdf. There is not even an empty box. It seems the pdf export is somehow inaccurate when it comes to qr codes that have been generated in Indd.

9. Index entry crash 2021

   Adding index entries is crashing the program. I've also had issue copying and pasting and dragging copies on certain pages that I have had to rebuild instead. Really disappointing and driving me crazy with a deadline looming

11. Recents on Home screen Ability to pin indesign projects on the home landing screen

    A frustration with indesign and an opportunity to improve. As a user of indesign I want to be able to pin certain projects I am working on and see them on the landing home screen. (Currently I have to rely on win folders to store projects).

    So that I can easily locate projects that are of value and referenced not so regularly

12. Data Merge not populating correctly when placeholder curse overflow

    When using Data-Merge with an .txt/.csv and using export as pdf, indesign (still) merge the fields wrong (only use the first data-entry), if the placeholder and not the data curse an frame-overflow.

    Detailed description:
    You have a textframe with enough space to place the string "888", but not enough space to place "8888".
    You have a .csv table with a colum named "number" and values from "1" to "999".
    You select the file with data-merge and get a placeholder "<<number>>" and replace the "888" with it. Now you got a frame overflow.
    You select preview, and all values (1 - 999) shows up fine without any overflow.
    You try to export as pdf.

    You aspect: a pdf-file containing 999 pages with numbers from 1 to 999.
    You get: a pdf-file containing 999 pages all with the value 1. :-(

    Work arounds:
    1.) making the text-frame bigger, until the placeholder fits.
    2.) let data-merge generate a merged indd-file.

    Both work-arounds are no solutions! I often work with layouts where u can't choose option 1, small tickets for example. Solution 2 is a real nightmare if u work with graphics and many data-entrys.

14. When deleting a page in page tab numbers remain as before

    When deleting a page in page tab, the numbers are wrong, as if the deleted pages are still there. It doesn't update.
    As you can see in the file loaded, it starts with page 3, not 1.

16. Pdfs come in upside down and inverted when viewed in 'high quality display' in InDesign, 16.0.. Mac OS, Big Sur 11.01.

    The problem is only in 'high-quality display' It shows normal in 'typical display.' When exporting from InDesign to a PDF there is no issue. This is a display rendering bug. Note: pdf I'm linking to was from Adobe XD.

    My friend on Windows had no problems exporting the same document in the same settings.

18. Endnote references are not importing when placing word documents

    I am placing a word 365 document into InDesign 2020 with endnotes ticked to be included and the endnote references are not importing. In the past the endnote references will display in-text and a full endnote reference list will display on the last page in one text box. I have tried using 2018/2019 with the same result. This appears to be a new bug. I have attached screenshots of the Word document with endnotes displayed and the InDesign document after placing the same word document which shows the endnotes have not been imported. Also an anchored text box is also displayed in place of the first endnote reference. The text displayed in the box is not the endnote reference text.

    This latest update for late August/September is really really really slow. It lags crazy. It's not efficient to work in. Even with small documents.
    It's the most unpleasant InDesign experience ever!

20. Crash Adobe InDesign CC v15.02-v15.1

    It freezes when openning the program (Starting up Service Registry...) Adobe InDesign CC v15.02-15.1 (Installed Language: English International)

    (But Adobe Creative Cloud for Teams: Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge and Acrobat DC are fine.)
