GPU usage is a feature that many indesign users need today.
Please enable the graphics card function in indesign for windows. I have high performance equipment. But this is of no use in indesign for windows. GPU use is a feature that many InDesign users need today. Differentiating between MAC and windows users is very upset.

screen mode button is gone
Screen mode button has been removed from tool bar and there's no way to add it back in MUST HAVE SCREEN MODE BUTTON IN TOP TOOLBAR where it has always been in the past.

Split Columns doesn't work correctly yet
If I use the option "Split column" all the paragraphs at the bottom of the page aren't splitted, the option doesn't work correctly (1.png), except when the text boxes are closed manually (2.png), as you can see from the attached files.
I don't understand the utility of not splitting two columns at the bottom of the page when this property is selected in the options.7 votes -
Enable column rules to ignore text wrap and anchored objects.
As it is now, column rules adhere to text wrap and will no longer "extend" if near an image with text wrap applied. Furthermore, placing an anchored object, an inline image for example, causes the rule to exhibit the same behavior in that it stops once it reaches the anchored object. Would like an option for column rules to simply ignore text wrap/anchored object so that the rules continue to extend.
This would help me (and others) to keep a consistent appearance as needed. In the attached example, there's a 3 column product listing where you can see how awkward…

Implement smooth(er) scrolling on Windows
This may well go hand-in-hand with the GPU acceleration request. Currently, mouse-wheel scrolling is stepped I fairly large increments, even when using a high-end pointing device such as the Logitech MX Master 3. This makes for significant fatigue when navigating a large document.
The behavior in MacOS, even without GPU acceleration enabled is a LOT better. Please add some kind of control over the incriment size at least, or idially a truely 'smooth' experience. Illurtrator and Photoshop are much much better, but I spend my life in InDesign. Affinity Publisher on Windows has managed it.

External Styles / Style Libraries to push Style updates dynamically and automatically to all documents.
Please develop some kind of External Style file format, that can be applied locally, and hopefully, via the cloud. But at least locally, PLEASE.
It is a crime that InDesign currently has NO WAY whatsoever to keep multiple documents styles synced. I run into this deeply frustrating problem all the time.
Currently, If I create a template file with some styles, and use that to create documents, and then If I update or refine paragraph styles, character styles, table styles, etc — there is no way for me to easily carry over those same styles to all other documents that…

apply swatch to monotone/greyscale with transparency (psd,png,tiff,ai).
Apply swatch to linked object only currently works with flattened greyscale psd, jpg or tiff. Often I need to change greyscale images WITH TRANSPARENCY (vector and raster) to match colors from other photos in indd. Currently I have to open psd and created several hue adjustment layers, or layers in ai with the color changes, and going back to each as I modify color in the pallette.

Export Book: Option to export documents in book as individual PDFs
When using the book export, it would be wonderful to have the option to export the documents that make up the book as separate PDFs.
This option would be useful whether exporting the entire book to PDF or exporting selected documents to PDF. Metadata embedded in each document of the book would be included in the export to pdf.
For example, I currently create a journal using the book function to pull together and organize the separate INDD files for the cover, TOC, and articles. Once the journal is completed, I need to generate the following PDFs:

Creation of Table of Contents — Adjustable interface window (width and height)
When working in huge and very complex documents — with dozens and dozens of paragraph styles and very complex table of contents —, the limitations of the interface window are rather annoying. The window cannot namely be expanded to have a better view of the selected styles.
The number of visible styles is namely limited to four (see screenshot). And the width cannot be adjusted either.
It would thus be a considerable improvement if the window size could be customized in order to have a much better view…

Footnote in XML flow
Hi Team,
InDesign not supporting footnote future in XML workflow. In Word workflow it is working fine. But in XML workflow XML structure is remove when insert footnotes. We want to move all footnotes into separate frame and align it in page end. Kindly check the feasibility and add this feature.

Compare Indesign Documents

I often have to deal with INDD documents which seem to be identicaln but ofte there is a small veraiation. It would be super cool if there´s a function directly in InDesign like in Acrobat to compare 2-3 documents side by side.cheers Aleks

Transform multiple objects at once with their own reference point
If you select multiple objects they are now treated as one big object and transformed using a reference point from that one big object.
I really need a checkbox where you can choose for every individual object to keep their own reference points when transforming multiple objects. This will save a lot of time. I know their is a workaround (transform again), but that's more steps and it seems like such a logical feature to have.7 votes -
InDesign to support Multiple User Editing
I am not talking about InCopy or any of its features. At the company I work for, we have to create all of our print documents in PowerPoint because our graphic design team collaborates so heavily with the Sales staff. Because of this, we use PowerPoint's live editing feature to collaborate with filling in content, formatting, and designing. It would be significantly easier and better if there was a multi-user function.

Adopt the latest PDF 2.0 specification
Flash-based PDF interactive output from InDesign is, to be kind, rather problematic. Flash-based interactivity is problematic with mobile-based PDF readers, including Adobe Reader on the iOS and Android platforms.
Please do what you can to adopt the PDF 2.0 standard promptly. Like a lot of other users working with interactive features within PDFs, I'm hopeful that by creating conforming documents, rather than hoping for conforming PDF writer and reader applications with widely varying degrees of success, would help InDesign take advantage of intrinsic security and interactive capabilities of the PDF 2.0 specification.

Option to apply object styles on document import.
We should have an option to apply object styles on import. There used to be a script that would do this but it isn't updated anymore. The ability to load a place brush and choose an object style for each page as i place them would be a tremendous time saving workflow for importing long documents. If we could somehow build that into "multi-page Importer" that would add pages to my document on import, too, it would be perfect.

Exporting ePub options - more needed and open direct to selected readers...
When exporting an ePUB, give the option to export as "iBooks friendly" or "ADE friendly" or "Google Play friendly" and automatically preview the epub in the chosen app. The reason this is needed is because, currently the enhanced epubs that you can export from InDesign work through iBooks but literally NOWHERE else. Google Play throws back errors that don't make sense and do not support some of the features that InDesign exports, such as javascript. And ADE does not have consistency across the android version and the Windows version and is riddled with bugs. The windows version doesn't read fonts,…

Crops Marks should automatically offset the same distance as the bleed
I does not make any sense that the default offset for crop marks is less than .125" There isn't a finishing trim method that can use crop marks closer than that. The default 0.0833 in setting is useless for production. It only causes problems and renders the bleed virtually useless.
I work in grand format print and the problem is far worse. We require .5" or 2" bleed consistently for gallery wraps, museum exhibits etc. We constantly get pdfs from clients where the bleed is 2" but the crop marks are only 0.0833" away from the page size. This renders…

Downloading Workspaces
I have a personal account with custom workspaces. I would like to be able to I go to work for someone else in their office, using their account, and easily download my workspaces from the Cloud. This feature request is for all Adobe apps, not just InDesign.

Export HTML keep set names for text anchors
When exporting to HTML, the process removes all text anchor naming from InDesign and renames them chronologically (e,g. _idTextAnchor002). This is very frustrating when you want to keep nice, logical names for user navigation, or set an anchor to be referenced externally. Currently, make new anchors links in the document changes other anchors links (i.e. if you place an anchor link between the 1st and 2nd link, that link takes on the id and name for the 2nd link, and all other links get pushed so 2nd becomes 3rd, 3rd becomes 4th).
