Allow use of numerical font weights instead of labels
Please include an option to use font numerical weights in paragraph/character styles. Font weight labels are not standardized among fonts. A variant could be labelled Normal, Book, Regular, Roman, or any other label that the font foundry thought was a good idea at the time. That means in my character style menu, there are many different labels corresponding to the same weight.
If InDesign internally tracked its weights numerically, I wouldn't have to use a separate character style for different uses of Semibold just because one foundry calls it "Semi Bold" or "SemiBold" or "SemiBd". CSS has this feature even for static fonts, so I know more than just variable fonts support this sort of functionality: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/Reference/Properties/font-weight
This functionality doesn't even need to be directly exposed to the user; rather it could be a change to how InDesign (and Illustrator) treats font variants internally. If you use "SemiBd" for a character style, it would simply use the corresponding numerical weight if that character style is being used with a different font that doesn't call that weight "SemiBd".

Allow “Use for Tagging Order in Tagged PDF” to be enabled by default in the Articles panel.
The Articles panel already includes the option “Use for Tagging Order in Tagged PDF,” but there does not appear to be a way to make this setting enabled by default for new documents.
For accessible PDF workflows, this creates repetitive manual work because the setting has to be turned on for each new file. It also increases the risk that the setting may be missed before exporting a tagged PDF.
Please add a preference or document default that allows users to keep “Use for Tagging Order in Tagged PDF” enabled automatically for new files.

Ability to create a semicircle shape quickly and easily
One feature I would really like to see added to InDesign is the ability to create a semicircle shape quickly and easily. At the moment, I haven't been able to find a straightforward way to make a perfect semicircle without relying on workarounds, manual adjustments, or creating the shape in another application first.
Having a dedicated semicircle tool or shape option would make the design process much more efficient, especially for layouts, infographics, diagrams, logos, and other projects that frequently require partial circular shapes. While InDesign offers a variety of shape tools and path-editing features, creating a precise semicircle can still be unnecessarily time-consuming compared to drawing standard circles, rectangles, or polygons.

Remove or Disable Share Button
I need to have the option to Disable or Remove the Share Button. It is constantly running in the background and slows down InDesign significantly. I work in an office where I will never share a document in InDesign and I'm sure there are a lot of people who are in the same situation.
This has slowed down my work and the other managers are not happy. We are looking at switching to Affinity.

Added PDF export tag to character styles for accessibility
In InDesign, it would be helpful to have the option to export our style as an Artifact in the Character Styles tab, under "Markup Export". This would be very useful for accessibility, allowing for the automation of things like formatting bullets as Artifacts.

Redesign UserVoice forum
In this sad, poorly designed forum, if you click an attached image, then click back to the forum, the idea you viewed disappears and a different idea is presented.
When you attempt to post an idea, your email appears as the idea title.
Which makes it unclear where to place the title and where the content of the post. In the end, your feedback is posted with your email as the title, and thus has to be deleted and reposted.
Please redesign it.

Add icon for Adobe Fonts to Find/Replace and Preflight panels
It would be helpful if you showed the Adobe Font Cloud icon next to the font name in both the Find/Replace and the Preflight panels. There have been several times when someone has used a non-Adobe font, and I don't see that the font has dropped until a PDF has been exported and compressed. Our printer only supports Adobe Fonts; however, there is currently no system for people to verify at a glance, and checking every font in large documents is extremely time-consuming.

Export to pdf as print spreads with options for bleed, different binding, etc.
This option should have been baked in from the beginning because when print shops request print spreads we have no easy way to convert since distiller is no longer up to the tast.

Glyphs panel
Is there a way to fix the font selection drop down menu in InDesign so that it does not scroll out of the InDesign UI? I have limited room on my desk to set up my laptop with the second monitor so my laptop is setup in front of the second monitor instead of side-by-side. Unfortunately, this makes it difficult to use the glyphs panel. It scrolls off of the second monitor onto my laptop screen and keeps on going off of my laptop screen. I've attached a screenshot to show what I am referring to.

Option to turn off Export your document to Adobe Express using the option under File > Export to Adobe Express.
I would like to be able to turn off the Blue Popup Boxes that appear when I export pdf files. I have no use for Adobe Express, so telling me about it every time is distracting. Having a checkbox to disable these messages would be handy, or an option in preferences either.
Option to turn off Export your document to Adobe Express using the option under File > Export to Adobe Express.

Split “Hyphenate Across Columns” into Separate Options
Please split the current Hyphenate Across Columns option into separate settings:
- Hyphenate Across Columns
- Hyphenate Across Text Frames
- Hyphenate Across Pages
- Hyphenate Across SpreadsThese are different typographic cases. In many layouts, hyphenation only needs to be prevented across spreads, sometimes across pages, while it should remain allowed across columns and text frames.

Split Hyphenate Capitalized Words into Two Separate Options
Please split the current Hyphenate Capitalized Words option into two separate settings:
- Hyphenate ALL-CAPS words
- Hyphenate Words Beginning with a Capital LetterThese are different typographic cases. Acronyms and all-caps abbreviations often should not be hyphenated, while proper names or capitalized words in titles may need normal hyphenation.

Add Keep With Previous/Next Rows to Cell Styles
It is often necessary to keep a subtotal row together with one or two preceding rows, or to keep a subtitle/header row together with one or two following rows.
This is already possible manually via the Keep With option in Cell Options, but having it available as a Cell Style option would make table formatting much more efficient and consistent.2 votes -
How do I remove first-line indent for only the first paragraph?
Hi everyone,Escape Tsunami for Brainrots
I’m struggling with a formatting issue and can’t seem to fix it.
I want the first paragraph to have no indent, but all following paragraphs to keep the standard indentation (like in professional manuscripts or books).
I’ve tried:
Edit Format → Settings → Paragraph first line indents
Options like “Remove from first paragraph and after empty lines”
Different compile settingsBut nothing seems to work, even after changing styles.

Add draft # or suffix to Share for Review
Just as title says.
I'm always re-labelling the share for review file manually, but it'd be nice if there was a different option for version control.
Say the ability to add a suffix that was a drop down option of letter/number like we have when we go to export things and then the ability to also set it to increase automatically or set to change it manually. This field would just add the suffix to the Title name OR be used as a infographic somewhere in the reviewer to show the draft count...
Could be a little bit of a push for those of us who have clients who abuse the revisions counts haha.
Thanks!

Sync Font Favorites between InDesign and Illustrator
Sync Font Favorites between InDesign and Illustrator and keep them safe between updates. This is a very important feature for designers since it takes time to curate a list of favorite fonts and to repete that in other Adobe apps is cumbersome and time consuming and prone do diferences between them.

Indesign .RTF or .DOCX exporter
If Adobe are so keen to help with sharing and workflows why have they failed to add a decent way of exporting to Rich text Files or .DOCX from Indesign?
I propose an adobe RTF /DOCX exporter that ships with Indesign.
Currently we have to rely on a third party product or a script to do this. It seems ridiculous to have to pay for software that is keen for AI to fill in the gaps but miss out on something as basic as this.
If anyone who has to re-assemble a document format PDF export knows what a nightmare this can be.
Implementing a native RTF (or MS Word) exporter would significantly enhance user experience. It would enabling seamless editing within their preferred word processing applications. Integration like this would streamline workflows, especially for professionals who require quick, efficient document editing and collaboration.
Relying on third-party plugins or exporting solely to PDF can introduce inconsistencies and compatibility issues. Whereas an Adobe-native solution would ensure consistent and high quality output.

Preserve the Book panel position on reopening
When reopening a Book, the position and size of the corresponding panel is reset to default.
I would like it would reopen with the same position and size that it had when closing it.
Having to rearrange and reposition it each time is really stressful.

Does the font selection in the Paragraph Styles panel not support autocomplete suggestions?
When selecting a font.
The Paragraph Styles panel has no filter or autocomplete feature.Just like in the Control Panel, where font selection is filtered and suggested as you type.
This feature seems to be missing in the Paragraph Styles panel, the Find and Replace Fonts panel, and the Composite Font Settings.
It’s very inconvenient.I wonder if there will be improvements in version 2026.
Also, it’s very inconvenient that you can’t quickly jump to the current font’s position in the font list.
