highlight text with customc olor
I want to highlight (or rather, underline because InDesign doesn't have a proper highlight feature...) my text a custom color. The standard 10 or so color options aren't enough. I want to use the color picker or a hex code to specify a different color to highlight my text. This is an important feature for me, because until it's implemented, I have to use Adobe Spark!

set order of buttons in interactive PDF
We want to create interactive PDFs in InDesign. But we don't have control of the order in which the tab button takes the user from field to field. Please add that option.

Custom Workspaces - Save to Cloud
It would be great if we could save custom workspaces in the cloud so we don't have to recreate them when we reinstall CC on a new computer, for eg... Thanx!

You really, really need to have indexing across documents/chapters in books!!!!
a necessity, not an idea. To quote another user:
Wow, Book Function has no index? Are you serious? Every serious non-fiction book must have a full index at the end. Why even use the Book Function, if the index doesn’t appear at the end of the whole book?6 votes -
Hyphenation (H&J): Don’t break compound words except at hyphens
Compound words should only be divided at existing hyphens when dividing words for line breaks.
Example: “award-winner” should break only after “award-“ not as “award-win-ner”
Other: “heart-stopping” can break after “heart-“ but never “heart-stop-ping”

Verwendete Absatzformate
... wie bei den Farbfeldern: „Alle nicht verwendeten [Absatzformate] auswählen“ als Option im Absatzformate-Fenster.
Außerdem im 'Suchen und Ersetzen‘-Fenster (oder woanders) die Möglichkeit, ein angewendetes Absatzformat suchen zu können.

voice to text
Help us avoid glitches with voice to text directly in InCopy. Yes, we can type into InCopy, but for long documents and articles, all the better with voice to text, to save time, and effort from all the typing. We could read citations right in; read documents in, not have to convert them to Word for Place. Let's get free from Apple/Word conversions and cut/&/pastes, thus the resulting glitches. Wouldn't this doable feature (Apple offers Dictation for free with its package) make Adobe's publishing output even easier and faster to use, and more glitch free from Word? And save us…

The Color Tab in the Find/Change dialog box
About the new feature in the Find/Change dialog box, under the Color Tab.
It gives us the choice of finding a color and changing it to another color.But I've got an instance today where I wanted to change the Text that was Red to Bold & Italics.
There is no option in that dialog box to change a color to a Character Style or a Paragraph Style. I had to find the Red text and then change it manually to a Character Style.
I sincerely think that there should be such option.

ADD Large Format sizing, as you do with Illustrator
My idea is as simple as just being able to produce layout sizes bigger than current 216 inch limit, for being able to layout billboards, wall graphics, etc.
The link feature and linked art boxes are able to move and crop graphics much more fluid, and also, typesetting in InDesign much more powerful than Illustrator. It's simply faster to produce a mock-up and final art in Indesign and it's easier to make corrections as well.

Please let apps remember dialog box size & position
Please make CC-apps aware of user display setups and changes, single or multiple screen resolutions. Hunting for them acress multiple screens, repositioning and resizing them each time is needlessly cumbersome and time consuming!
Default:
– in case of multiple screen setup: main screen (as specified in OS display preferences), centered.
– in case of single screen: centeredUser settings
– record and store user changes to dialog box sizes and positions with current screen setup. Store setups in prefs file.
– make CC app recognize changes in multiple screen real-estate and store and recall users dialog box positions from this…

Ability to skip certain spot colours while export in ink manager
I often use artificial spot colors to mark some special post processes like UV-lacquering, embossing, etc. But I definitely don't need these colors on preview/revision versions of a document. Now I must export pdf and then remove those channels in Acrobat.
I'd be very happy to see the option "IGNORE" or "SKIP" in the ink manager for each (at least spot) ink.3 votes -

Why are there no mobile application for indesign? I work in indesign every day and I think it would work out really good on ipad!

Add track changes also to foot notes
If you use track changes its a problem that texts in foot notes aren't tracked.
Some type of documents (like financial documents) need trail of changes. Its even a legal request in some cases. So if you depend on the track changes function its a big problem that foot notes aren't tracked. Used to be the same with tables long time ago but that one is now tracked since many versions back...Seems like other also asked about this.

Better UI scaling option
The only way to adjust the UI size in Indesign is to change the scaling for your whole system, and even then it only supports up to 200% scaling and there is no way to make it bigger beyond that.
I got a new laptop with a HD 4k screen and its already scaled to 250% (I'm using Windows 10) but the user interface is still too small and it really slows down my workflow. Even if increasing my OS scaling to 300%+ fixed it (which it doesn't), it would still be infuriating to have everything on my computer scaled…

stylistic alternates
Please make it so that OpenType stylistic alternates can be accessed through paragraph and/or character styles. For instance, my OT font has an alternate form of capital W which I prefer to the default form. It is listed in the Glyphs panel as Stylistic Alternates (salt). However, there is no way to activate this alternate W without manually replacing all default capital Ws with the alternate form I prefer. And even when I do that, reapplying a Paragraph Style to any paragraph where I've changed the W will revert the W to the default. I would like to at least…

Give a button to speed up the video playback when playing the tutorial video in learn panel
When playing tutorial video in learn panel, a speed adjusting button is necessary to comfort both the people with bad English who wants to play the video slowly, and the people who has certain experience and wants to get though the tutorial quicker.

Can you include a slug area for sign off on an interactive pdf. Ive seen this in searches so many time and would really help with workflow and approval processes
