Give us the option to ignore certain instances of spelling & grammar errors, just like Adobe Illustrator.
Just like Adobe Illustrator, please add optional checkboxes to either include/exclude things like "repeated words" or "uncapitalized start of sentence" instances. Also... Illustrator has a section of the dialog box where you can optionally ignore (1) uppercase words, (2) roman numerals, and (3) words with numbers. This would be a great feature to implement within InDesign as well, especially since InDesign is the go-to program for layouts.

Please fix the tab export issue in EPUB format! We're paying for a program that promises print AND flowable epubs but getting only half.
I'm incredibly unhappy about paying so much money out of pocket for a program that does only half of what it promises. It promises print and ebook exports. Print works fine. Epub does not export tabs, indents, or line spacing. I've had your techs work on the program with a program file of mine after I showed them my work flow, and they took two weeks and couldn't do it. Show Character Style applied by GREP
When a Character Style is applied automatically via GREP, selecting text does not reveal which Character Style was applied.

Can we get text to go along with the video tutorials?
Videos can be useful, but we can read text MUCH faster than listening to a video. And we can easily refer to text where we can't in a video.
Please just supply the same learning in text form as well.

make insert next page number/previous page number work properly
at the time of writing, this feature only gives the CURRENT page number instead of the previous or next as intended

Uneven columns
Being able to adjust where the column gutters is placed. Or adjust the individual widths of each colum within a text box.

Font PREVIEW
Please put back the option to change Font PREVIEW in preferences: small, medium and large.

Allow for an export with restrictions to have multiple changes allowed
When you export a pdf from InDesign, and you select the option to restrict editing with a password, it would be super helpful to have more than one option available under the 'changes allowed' .... for instance, if I want the pdf to be filled out AND allow for deleting of pages, I cannot do that. It would be great it you could chose as many of those options as possible upon exporting with a password.

Pdf with images folder paths links
Sometimes we work on big catalogues with lots of images. And sometimes those images are located in various folders accross our servers and we cannot move them until the work is done.
Lots of times my post production coworkers, to speed up the work, ask me the folder path of some images, and i need every time to open the catalogue, search the image and check the links panel to tell him the right folder path.I'm asking to put an option, when we create pdf's, to automatically insert the folder path over every image inside the pdf.

With a specific paragraph style character style page, automatically apply a specific home page?
For example, in the start page, we only need to display "Chapter 1" and "Chapter 2". We chose to apply the "None" home page. Now it's manual. It's a lot of trouble.
These pages are not the same as the home pages of the front and back page applications.
I think it's more convenient to apply a specific home page to pages with certain paragraph style or character style.

Caption setting: Why paragraph style, not object style?
Its "displacement" is not very easy to use, I generally still need object style to control the caption.
If you can use object styles directly, it's easy? Because object styles can call paragraph styles, there are more settings.
I hope Adobe will pay attention to this problem.

Improve handling of long footnotes
Handling of long footnotes could be improved in at least three ways:
- Sometimes a footnote absolutely cannot start on the same page as its reference either because the given footnote follows so closely behind a very long footnote (or a dense cluster of shorter footnotes). Presently, InDesign simply stops setting text at that point, as it would when a hits a word it cannot fit into any subsequent frame in the story. Ideally such footnotes would be not only be permitted but be custom-labelable—e.g. “(from p. 17)”—but for now simply permitting such footnotes, elegantly or not, would be a far…

Define increased/decreased italicisation/***** and weight relatively (independent of font) on Character Styles
If I'm defining a Character Style called "Emphasis", essentially I want to be able to apply this to any text in the document and for that text to be italicised.
However, this doesn't work because:
- I might apply it to a font where the italic style is called "Oblique" not "Italic"
- I might apply it to a font set in Medium. Now it returns to a regular weight with Italics, rather than Medium Italic.
There needs to be a way to define "Increased/Decreased Italicisation/*****" or "Increased/Decreased Weight" on a Character Style. InDesign would then:

InDesign for iPad/Mac cross-compatibility
The iPad Pro has the M1 chip now. Why not have InDesign for iPad? Now that iPads have the same hardware as Macs there's no reason not to have one app that works on both.

Allow login from multiple adobe accounts on the same machine at the same time.
My job pays for InDesign and I pay for Photoshop/Lightroom. The fact that I cannot just have both logins running at the same time is insane. I have started paying for InDesign personally because it was just easier.

Open other file formats in InDesign
I love how I can create my publications amazingly with InDesign, but I really need to edit other files on devices.
I have PUB files that I created when I was using Publisher 2019 back then, but I can't seem to open them with InDesign. Being the industry standard in desktop publishing, I can't believe that I cannot edit other files.
I hope this gets added.

PLEASE TURN OFF the 'Type 3 fonts no longer supported after 2023" message, it is very annoying for the many legacy documents I must work on. YES I know! That is two years away and there seems to be no way to make the blue bar go away.

Customisable colours for composition highlights
I’d like to change the colours used to highlight custom tracking, H&J violations, substituted fonts etc. Some of the default colours are not very accessible, or stand out more than needed.
