Live captions with artboard names
We create a lot of print files for clients in illustrator and proof them in InDesign. It would be great if we could import live captions for the artboard names of Illustrator files to save us having to type these out every time.

Gradient Angle should be saved in Swatches
Colour gradients can only be saved linearly without angles.
It would be nice if the angle could also be saved in the colour gradient, especially for texts and lines.38 votes -
RTL in all versions of InDesign, not just the Middle Eastern version.
It is ridiculous that I have to install a completely different regional version of InDesign to get access to RTL. Apart from the addition of an RTL/LTR button and a drop down specially from Arabic, what is the difference other than the default language?

Tracking: highlight tight and loose lines with two colours
I typeset books and it is often useful to see at a glance where text can be tweaked in order to make or lose a line. Having two colours would make it much quicker and easier to identify affected lines. Being able to modify the colours would be a bonus.

bookmark zoom level
It would be a lifesaver to be able to set the bookmark zoom level in InDesign (whatever it defaults to now, "Fit Page", I think, isn't great for everyone), so that when it exports to PDF you can already have it set to "Inherit Zoom" (or whatever you need) rather than having to manually figure out a way to do it in Acrobat. When you edit the bookmark zoom level in Acrobat, there's not even a way to do it from the InDesign action that's there--you have to basically create a whole new bookmark, redirect it and then set the…

Content Placer Tool Thumbnail to Size
Would it be possible to have an option to have the content placer tool thumbnail be proportional to the page it is being placed on? I use this tool to make large multiple image proofs from images placed into a client-supplied file and need to show them at the placed size. When I place them on the page, using the content placer tool, I cannot gauge the size until it is placed. Paragraph Rules in Find/Change and a new Panel?
Please add Paragraph Rules to the Find Change dialog box. I often need to change rule thickness or color to paragraph rules that are not in a paragraph or character style. Manually changing each selection takes quite a bit of time and should be automated.
A floating/dockable paragraph rules panel would be helpful when having to change a file with multiple paragraph rules applied manually and not in a style. As it is now I have to select each instance and open the dialog box and change the rule settings.

PLEASE PLEASE!
The Buttons and forms window is really difficult to work with.
Can you please enhance its usability?
Being able to group buttons, reorder buttons in the window would be a massive help.
Other users have expressed the need to expand the window - this is an absolute must so we can get an overview of the interactivity for each element, right now this is impossible and it takes so much time refining and debugging. Please create InDesign version (or mode) for UX design prototyping. I know Adobe has Adobe XD product, but it's missing better typography, paragraph/object/table styles, tables, master pages, etc. Adobe XD is attempt to copy Sketch. Instead you, guys, should have build Adobe XD based on InDesign

Please make it possible that whenever you create a QR code it automatically makes it into a hyperlink as well.
This could be done by maybe ticking off a box when creating a QR code to optionally create a hyperlink. I know QR codes are prodominently made to scan with a phone but if you wish to publish the same publication online it would be nice if you could also click on the qr code, making it easier for the reader. It would make it easier because now I have to make a QR code while also applying the same hyperlink on it thus taking me more time and increasing the possibility of an error.

keyboard shortcuts for custom PDF preset
I can't be the only one who uses the same PDF presets over and over when exporting. It would be really helpful if I could set a keyboard shortcut to those custom presets so I could export them on the fly.

Arc or Warp feature for conical label designs
Please include warp features in Indesign so that labels for conical and tapered shapes can be created easily on an arc. The ability to create a curved template via inputting the top and bottom circumference of a cone should also be included so that curves can be customised. If this is not possible then possibly a PDF warp feature of exported flat designs from indesign would be useful. At present 3rd party software or plugins that offer this functionality (similar to Studio by Esko) are very expensive.

Option to hide fonts
One thing that I would love to see is a hide button that allows you to hide rarely used and/or system fonts from the main list. Having to scroll through a large list of often useless or irrelevant fonts, to find the ones that might work for your project tends to be frustrating and inefficient, especially in an application meant for text and document layout. Application Menu Search (Windows)
I know this is an operating system thing, but after switching to Windows from Mac, I'm missing the search bar under the Help menu. I made a suggestion on the Windows Feedback Hub, but it doesn't seem to be getting much traction there. Unless I'm missing something, there's got to be others of you missing this functionality. Enable link transfer of Publish Online projects
It would be useful to be able to transfer a project with Publish Online link to another user, so that they can update and publish revised versions of the asset without having to create new links.
