Copy CMYK, RGB values in Color Picker as text
I would like to be able to copy RGB or CMYK values as text so I can paste them elsewhere. This would be helpful in my daily work where I make color palettes and then describe them with text in a brand guide. See the attached screenshot where I am currently updating CMYK and RGB values by hand from the color picker.

Export to a Word/.doc file
Would like to be able to export a project to Word. Which typically exporting to PDF is fine, there are some clients that require us to send them Word/.doc file. I've been exporting to PDF and from there exporting to Word, but that means much of the formatting is lost.

Embed IDML data into INDD files for permanent single-file offline backwards compatibility
Just embed IDML data into every INDD, at least optionally. A separate IDML file requires having foreseen the need for backwards compatibility, making sure it is up to date each time the INDD is changed, or resorting to server-side conversion, all of which are a nuisance and unnecessary.
An IDML’s file size is usually anemic when compared to its INDD counterpart, so that is a non-issue.
Even Photoshop asks you whether you want PSD files to be backwards compatible.

Allow importing of Framemaker files into InDesign
InDesign should allow importing of Framemaker files.

Allow patterned fills like in Microsoft Word
More advanced graphic design software like Microsoft Word enables a pattern (with colour options) to be applied to a solid form. InDesign lacks this feature.

Sorting alphabetically (A-Z) and all other languages
This is very important feature for any application deal with text and books.
i think i don't need to mention that other applications like Ms word have that option.it is really important that InDesign should have sorting option for paragraphs/text and tables.
it is disappointed that in that time still sorting options is not exist in InDesign.

PDF comments - Option to remove all resolved comments at once
Option to remove all resolved comments at once. An option to remove all resolved comments in the comment window would be very interesting, because indesign has a performance issue with too much comment.

Show grid in front of some layers but not all
Add a setting to somehow designate a point within the layer stack where the baseline grid would appear. The desire is to have the grid visible in front of a background layer but behind everything above that. Perhaps in Preferences->Grids where there is currently a "Grids in Back" checkbox, there could be an additional checkbox of "Except lowest layer" or "Except lowest __ layers" or something. Alternatively, the setting could be in Layer Options, something like "Show Grids in front of this layer". You get the idea.

variable images
It would be great if we could utilize the concepts of Data Merge and Conditional Text, maybe even along with Master Pages. For example, I have a long document 6 chapters that have four main sections each, but within each section there are 2 additional layouts that I need to apply. With all of the variations of the content if I were to make master pages for all of them I would end up with 80+ and that won't be functional

Combining Text Variable and custom Script (Calling a script to compute text variable instances)
Text variables sometimes require more complex processing of conditions, and the list of variables that we have now, with rare exceptions, is more like "text constants".
It would be nice to have a new type of text variable, the instances of which are calculated using a custom script, with each inserted instance having to be calculated separately, depending on where it was inserted.2 votes -
Worksharing across multiple users
Being able to have multiple people working in the same file at once similar to how Autodesk Revit is formatted - there is one "central" file and each user has a "local" file that they work on and every time they save it saves back to the "central" as one master file. There is also a safe guard against two people doing the same work where if two users were on the same page, the second person to try an edit the same object would see an error message telling them that someone else owns that item and in order…

Remove style attributes from Style Settings in General tab
The Style settings overview is helpful, but dang would it be amazing to remove some attributes right from that box.
Sometimes something odd will get added to a style if created from existing type (such as shading bottom right corner radius). If I don't want that as part of my style, there is no way to easily remove it. If the style attributes were in a list format, not a running paragraph, you could have a delete icon next to each attribute, that could be deleted. )Take it one step further, and an edit button would take you right to…

Text and Hyperlinks - Tag a Hyperlink visually
The ability to see if a word is hyperlinked on a page with several hyperlinks visually, like you can with an anchor item. There is no way to see if a word is hyperlinked unless you open the Hyperlink panel and go thru the list of all the hyperlinked items on that page. Is there a way to create a visual cue like if the word was misspelled or something like that to quickly know what words are hyperlinked on a page. More of a visual cue to know quickly and also if you hover over the hyperlink, like an…

Export Adobe PDF viewing size
A minor request, but hopefully not too difficult: Under the General > Viewing section in the Export Adobe PDF dialog box, it would be nice to be able to input a custom viewing size %, or to at least have more % options over 100% (perhaps to match Acrobat's options). It helps curate the experience I want my clients to have when viewing my files. Thanks!

Snap to Glyph option like the one that exists in Illustrator
Not much to elaborate on, but I'd love to see this option available in InDesign as I frequently find it useful in Illustrator. When trying to align objects to the center of the text, as opposed to the text box (because the text box is taller than the text), this would be amazing.
Alternatively - a way to double click on the top-most midpoint of the text box and have it autosnap to the glyph height. This is virtually identical to the feature that already exists within InDesign.

Auto Layout of text frames (ala Figma auto layout)
Currently InDesigns' text frame fitting options are really powerful... but it would be amazing to pinch some of Figma's functionality, to supercharge them for dynamic layouts.
For instance, we often like to set up text variables on a master page, and have a layout which dynamically adjusts. Currently, we can use workarounds like whitespace to set spacing between elements, so that as the content shrinks & expands nothing overflows, and the spacing between these elements remains consistent. It's a limited approach, but better than nothing. You could take this further by having items dynamically align to layout grids (like baseline-grid…
