Author name of PDF annotation exported from InCopy notes must not contain date & time
When exporting from InCopy to PDF with “Include Notes As Annotations” checked, the author name of each PDF annotation should not have the note’s date and time appended as a suffix. Doing so effectively attributes each annotation to a different author and makes PDF comment filtering based on author name (or datetime, would that filter eventually exist) impossible. I consider this a bug.
The date and time of a note should instead be stored in the “modification date & time” metadata of the PDF annotation, which Acrobat populates and displays for annotations created with itself.

Add Javascript for creating interactive Documents
So I had the nice task of creating an interactive PDF document. It needed a bit more logic than Indesign had to offer, so I was forced to use Javascript.
Because Indesign can't add Javascript, the design file and the logic file were separated. I was forced to manually connect the two every time I needed to make a change in Indesign, adding nearly 40 hours to my workload and completely destroying my workflow.
Just being able to add the scripts to the elements would have saved so much time.

Floating sticky notes
Floating sticky notes that I can make myself, for example "Photos completed" "Text revised" "Needs consult" etc. that can be grabbed and stuck to pages, especially for long documents and that remain visible/accessible on every page.I want something I can just grab and stick, grab and stick, etc. rather than create/type a unique note for each page.

Add extra options to the "Add Bullets" panel, like search, resize, favourite, etc.
The "Add Bullets" panel is tiny and super limited. It should be possible to resize, search and even favourite your preferred glyphs to make the process much more efficient.

Make PNG/JPG Exports Background Tasks
As the topic says... having the export of PNG/JPG files as a background task would be extremely helpful for those of us working in comics and doing high volumes of rendering work.
Likewise, making this a multithreaded/parallel process for speed and efficiency would also be highly appreciated.

Page Layout Management in Bridge for InDesign Files
It would be extremely beneficial to have a feature in Bridge that can interact with InDesign files, allowing for the visualization of individual pages directly within the Bridge interface. Furthermore, the ability to compose an overall layout for a magazine or book from separate pages in Bridge, or another similar software, would significantly improve the workflow for many users.
This feature could save us countless hours, improve collaboration between teams, and potentially revolutionize the way we create composite pieces.
I look forward to hearing from you on this suggestion.

Download HTML master from Publish Online
It would be nice to have the possibility to give sort of a HTML "master" with all the animations, buttons, interativities, etc. as can be seen in the uploaded document. That way, this master could be storaged where the client wants: own server, own PC, historical arquive in their web or wherever they would like.
Also, it makes it easier in case the designer/agency using Publish Online breaks parts with the client, breaks parts with Adobe, ends activity for good or any similar situation. And I'm pretty sure it would also be cool for Adobe to not have all that…2 votes -
Package convert images to specific format
For architects, urban designers, and artists, InDesign has become an essential tool. However, our needs differ from those of graphic designers, introducing unique challenges. We often maintain specific folder structures for original files, repurposing them for various mediums - be it print, websites, or emails. For instance, when delivering a poster, it's inefficient to include large PSD images in both the 'links' folder and another location. Notably, for academic submissions, recipients often don't require layered files; they need images suitable for websites, emails, etc. Considering that most competition or submission layouts remain static after submission, a "convert images to a…

It would be great if we can get control over layer visibility by page in addition to by document. Add a visibility-by-page icon next to the visibility-by-document icon that controls visibility by page.

Add OpenType attributes into Find/Change search criteria
InDesign lets users search for type attributes found in Paragraph and Character style criteria, but it does not let users search for applied OpenType attributes like fractionals, etc. in the Find/Change dialog box. It would be useful to find and fix issues when OpenType attributes don't perform as expected.
Since Adobe is making such a big push to abolish Type 1 fonts in its applications, I think that it would be a useful gesture to include OpenType attributes to its search criteria options through the Edit>Find/Change... menu command.

disable launch image
Disable Launch Image
I do not think the launch images in photoshop, indesign and illustrator are culturally sensitive. They should not include any people especially not raunchy females. They should be totally neutral - landscapes, nature, no people please!!13 votes -
Consider built-in compression of .indd files
Since .indd files could be compressed (e.g. zip) with saving between 50% to 70% of disc space: Please consider to implement a compression algorithm natively into InDesign.
Thanks

Integrate Adobe Express/Canva-like features into Indesign
So Adobe Indesign has some BASIC animations and I feel this is a completely missed opportunity on Adobe's behalf. Apps like Canva have been spreading like wildfire for years and while Adobe has released Express it is a poor cousin. The idea behind Express/Canva is to have an easy-to-create, templated video/animated solution for social media (which let's face it, is mostly video now), yet as a very heavy InDesign user I should be able to animate and export these animations while also taking advantage of the powerful mail merge (text, images, and it really needs to also have swatches), bulk…

Would like to be able to apply formatting to text variables
You should be able to somehow apply formatting to text variables. (See screenshot: TextVariable.png). The running header on the right hand page is based on the "chapter title" on the left hand page, but the italics can't be applied. It would be nice if you could apply a GREP style, or even a nested style, to the paragraph style that is applied to running header.

Share for review – the necessity of an output preview
For a long time in the printing industry, we did our copies to print with low-resolution PDFs that we send directly to our customers by e-mail. The advantage of this method is that for other participants in the graphic industry, we can show how the documents we received will be processed, thanks to the output preview.
Since most printers don't necessarily print complex layouts and we are concerned with ensuring the quality of the files we receive, I was a little disappointed to see that this aspect of print control was not available in the current version of "Share for…
