inverted color option with objects
When I select a text I really like how something looks when it's inverted by having it selected. having a feature that allows you to draw a shape so it inverts colours underneath would be cool. I can't seem to figure out how to do this in any other way.

Home Screen preference switch needed
Preference to disable "Home Screen". Very annoying when no internet connectivity - PS and AI both have this option, why not Indesign?

Стало плохо работать
Добрый день, после обновления Adobe InDesign CC 2019 - стало все очень медленно работать, нету возможности работать, сообщите пожалуйста что сделать что бы все опять заработало, в программе после каждого действия начинает крутится курсор обработки информации, я думал что проблема в файле, после перезагрузки я попробовал создать но новый документ, программа тормозила даже в момент создания нового документа, банально перемещения по окошкам каждое действие выполняется по 10 секунд и более

Paragraph Overrides
You used to be able to hover your mouse over a paragraph style in the paragraph style panel that had an override (plus sign). When you hovered over this style it would display a tool tip showing you what was overriding that style. This no longer works.

The only way to fix this problem is to resize the panel. Every time you need to see what is overriding a style you have to resize the panel meaning you may have to resize the panel dozens of times for a document.

After data merge, export to split PDF
I do lots of work that involves creating personalized documents for event attendees (schedules, welcome letters, etc.). I merge attendee data from the registration site. Upon rendering a merged document, I should be able to export each page as an separate PDF using data fields as filenames. "Smith, John Itinerary.pdf" for each person, for example. The workaround for this involves generating and exporting bookmarks to Acrobat, which is convoluted and doesn't always work.

A great feature would be if InDesign could highlight automatic hyphenations.

Add Kerning Manager Palette
Many fonts have badly kerning values, to correct these faults, we should have the precise control through the font in a document or to be permanent for the font used in ID, until the user rechange the kerning pairs values again. In some cases, the font kerning values are good, but the user likes to modify these values in a document, such as many swashes fonts.

Font tool and Character panel lockup
When selecting a font from the character panel or selecting text from a document after opening the file InDesign locks up. It happens without fail since the update and the lockup time range from a minute to going on 5 minutes plus (finally just restart the app).

visibility of the Colorsetting in menu bar
I often work in different color settings for newspaper printing or offset printing. It seems convenient to me if I can see the current color setting as a notification in the menu bar. Also usefull for other applications as well like Illustrator and Photoshop.

Edit Styles/Access Style Options dialog from Properties panel
It is easy to create a new style via the Properties panel, but cumbersome to edit styles.

Preserve filename on PDF export
This is a common issue having looked around the internet for a solution...
PDF export uses the name of the file up until the point where a user changes the name of the PDF before export, then saves the file after the export is done. That changed name is then written into the file and used as this is the expected behaviour.
However, this becomes an issue if you are repurposing the same artwork at different sizes (for example) where you have to manually override the filename on each export.
It would be great if a future InDesign build had…

Remove Adjust Content from InDesign (or disable it)
When changing margins there is a new box that says "Adjust Content". This totally screws up your files if you don't uncheck it. I cannot find a way to disable the" adjust content" permanently. It should probably be either a preference or just removed from InDesign completely as it doesn't perform any useful function.

Underlined spaces at the ends of lines in running text
- It would be nice if, when an underlined space falls at the end of a line in running text, the space "disappears" so that it's underline isn't hanging out in space like a ghost..
- It's valuable because it looks weird when an underlined space sticks out beyond the last nonwhite-space character in the line. It's particularly noticeable in justified type, but I think the same principal applies regardless of the justification.

Empty index feature
Since 2016 people are trying to find a good way to reset/whipe/delete/empty the INDEX when things go wrong. This issue is not solved. It takes massive amount of time to delete an index manually.
I had "assistance" from Adobe online chat. They even think it is possible. But when checking in Indesign. They too find it impossible to empty an index.

Remove hyperlink:
Remove hyperlink: There is no simple convenient way to remove a hyperlink. When you check, you find, "Edit Hyperlink" or "Go to destination". So, you go to "Edit" and find the hyperlink field, with the only option to delete the hyperlink being the word/letter info of the link that's in the entire field. But then it won't let you do that, saying: "! Invalid Entry". So, you have to reenter the text you had hyperlinked, then delete the text with the hyperlink. Please add a menu line, in both "Text-Hyperlink" and right-mouse-button "Hyperlink" that says and does "Remove Hyperlink", along…
20 votesIf you have InDesign CC 2019, when you select a Hyperlink and look in the Properties panel, you will see 3 buttons – ‘Remove Hyperlink’, ‘Edit Hyperlink’ and ‘Manage Hyperlink’.
Remove Hyperlink does what it says – it removes the hyperlink. However, it retains the applied Character Style which can be manually changed by clicking the [None] style in the panel.
Manage Hyperlink opens the Hyperlinks panel (if it’s closed) and Edit Hyperlink lets you edit it.Hope this helps.

Enhanced 'Arrange Documents' features
It would be very helpful if one could apply keyboard shortcuts to 'Arrange Documents' options (Consolidate All, Tile All in Grid, Tile All Vertically, etc.) It would also be awesome if we could save our own frequently used layouts.
