The options 'Story' and 'End of Story' is shown only when the cursor is inside a text frame. Otherwise, only Document and All Documents options are shown.

Adobe disappoints – again – they seem more focused on adding new functions than fixing long-present problems like this one. It's a shame they don't see that improving stability and fixing bugs is what professionals want the most.Affinity Publisher is looking more and more like an option – for a fraction of the cost.

Thanks for making this request. In order to understand the use-case more better I have a few questions:
1. Whats the role of the different people working collaboratively on the same file. Are they always only designers or are other personas also involved.
2. What is the use-case here, some parts of this request suggest an Editorial collaboration whereas others suggest collaboration amongst different designers. I am trying to separate these 2 requests out.
3. What are the different kind of files (brochures, books, magazines etc) for which this is required.
4. Does it need to be a web based service, or having the user be able to collaborate on one shared file using InDesign or InCopy on the Desktop will work? What is the advantage you feel over a web-service over the desktop app?
5. How do you workaround this need today? What are the most important problems with…Halvor supported this idea · -

Adobe InDesign TeamAn error occurred while saving the comment Halvor commentedIt has been TWO whole years since the last reply from Adobe, what on earth are you doing? This is a huge problem and should be addressed first of all bug reports!
As I've mentioned before, there's also other bug reports that seems to be the same problem. The suggested workaround is far from good enough, the bug is very unpredictable and it's often not obvious that it's present.
Please prioritise your professional users!I can't share any documents (contains sensitive info), it's not related to any specific docs, it's not caused by lack of hardware power – currently running ID 17.4 on OS X 12.5.1 on Mac Studio M1 Max. I can't update anything yet (for collaboration reasons)
An error occurred while saving the comment Halvor commented@Sanyam – Have you checked out the other bug reports on the same problem I provided links for? There's plenty of documentation there…
The bug is not limited to certain documents, it occurs in both simple and complex files. The first report on this bug was submitted three years ago – it took two whole years before anyone responded!
Please, please, please prioritise it now!An error occurred while saving the comment Halvor commentedYes, Adobe, what are you doing?!
… it seems to be the same problem as in these bug reports:

I thought the edits always were displayed correctly in Normal view, but discovered just now that an old version of the text was displayed in both Normal and Preview mode, and I sent a pdf to my client full of orphans and widows!. Had to restart InDesign to get everything displayed correctly.
Please Adobe, prioritize this bug!
An error occurred while saving the comment Halvor commentedThis serious bug is present on both 2019 and 2020 versions, it's shocking that Adobe haven't solved it yet. I concurr with previous posters, some bugs are merely inconvenient, but this one is really dangerous. I had a very long and stressful night when I first encountered it, making me unsure of every correction I had made the last couple of days. Luckily, nothing is really lost, it seems the bug is just screen view problem.
I've found that if you type a character and delete it again in preview mode, the correct view pops back again.Halvor supported this idea · -

Still happening in ID 2023 (18.0) – please, please, please Adobe, address this very irritating bug!
It's depressing to see that so many of the bug reports I've voted for either are unanswered or that the last response from Adobe was years ago.
