Thank you everyone for your continued patience! Apple just released the macOS High Sierra 10.13 Supplemental Update. This will fix the cursor issue with InDesign on macOS High Sierra. Please go to the App Store to update.

Thanks for making this request. In order to understand the use-case more better I have a few questions:

    1. Whats the role of the different people working collaboratively on the same file. Are they always only designers or are other personas also involved.
    2. What is the use-case here, some parts of this request suggest an Editorial collaboration whereas others suggest collaboration amongst different designers. I am trying to separate these 2 requests out.
    3. What are the different kind of files (brochures, books, magazines etc) for which this is required.
    4. Does it need to be a web based service, or having the user be able to collaborate on one shared file using InDesign or InCopy on the Desktop will work? What is the advantage you feel over a web-service over the desktop app?
    5. How do you workaround this need today? What are the most important problems with…

We try to implement this right now in our publishing house. We are trying very hard to make an Indesign/Incopy workflow work with a team spread out over the country. It's hard right now.

Thank you for the suggestion Anne-Marie. I have added an InCopy category to this page.

This is very good news for me too. I'm testing it right now and it solves the most common case (all the endnotes at the end of the book) for me pretty good. Works as expected.

Yes, I completely agree. This ruins the use for paragraph shading for Textboxes in books.

The ability to strip Forced Line Breaks would be a huge help!
But going further, the (optional) ability to strip out even Character Styles would be helpful.

Hi All, thanks for this feature suggestion.

If I understand this correctly the idea here is that you need a faster way to be able to apply Master Pages to the various pages in the document. One use case is that you want to apply a particular master page to Even and Odd pages.

Are there other such scenarios too, where you need more support. It would be helpful if you can mention other such scenarios.

    Thanks

While typesetting a book I apply Master Pages based on used paragraph styles: Every time "heading 1" is used apply "Master Page A". Sometimes the positions of the headings inside the text flow will change due to additions or deletions. It would help me, if I could just click a button and the Master Pages would adjust according to the new positions of the headings.

I'd love to see InDesign paragraph styles learn a thing or two from CSS.
This would be useful for so many things.

    I.e.:

    - Two Headlines appear directly after one another. Both have "Space after" and/or "Space before". These two gaps add up right now. This is not desired in typesetting. Only the bigger space should be used.
    - Making a box with a paragraph style with shaded background. This needs 3 Styles now if the box has more than 2 paragraphs.
    - Lists, same issue
