Jumping to wrong tabs
Hi, when I try to click on the File menu, it keeps jumping to Window instead. That goes for any menu item I try to open. I'm using the 2018 version of InDesign on Windows.

takes time changing from type tool to select and vice vers
is there any issues with newest updated indd? im having trouble with using it and takes time changing from type tool to select and vice vers

Click, click-drag combinations no longer work as they did previously.
Upon upgrading to 15.1.1, on Mac OS 10.14.16 Mojave
-Triple-clicking won't select a whole line, and, yes, I selected "triple-click to select whole line" in preferences.
Double-clicking does won't switch from the object tool to the text tool.
Double-click and drag won't extend the selection.
I didn't find anything in the Mac OS, Wacom, or InDesign prefs that referenced click or click-drag options. Adjusting double-click speed doesn't change this bug.
If these features were disabled to take advantage of the swipe features of Apple mouse and tablet gestures, please add a preference option to use a standard mouse.

Master Items misssing when used based on page
Using Windows 7 or Mac OS no matter even it's in preview Indesign CC.
I found this and very annoying to fix it manually in master page items.
Steps Created Master Page A for body text pages
Created master Page B: As a chapter opener. It's based on Master A. Only removed top running header.Now applied in pages:
Left side page : Master Page A.
Right side page chapter opener and applied Master Page BResult: Part of Running Header is disappear in Left Side Page, right side page ok as is.
Am I missing something. Getting this kind of result from previous version of Indesign CC
PS: When I removed based on features. Everything is ok. Even If item is within page, then also it's ok. If the items is touching the page edge or bleeding then it disappears.
After further investigating, came to this conclusion: it only happens if used based on features in master pages and after removing editing header part. Effects on the item that bleeds. in this case Master page A.

Deleting Preference files
I crashed when I boot up and the message says I need to delete the Preferences files but Alt-Ctl-Shift doesn't show the expected Preferences file message upon startup. Is there another way to delete Preference files?

Character Style is cleared from copied Hyperlink

InDesign 15.1 x64When copying text, the Character Style of Hyperlink text is not copied.
Attached is a video showing the problem:
ITC Officina OTF [book, bold] are used.
A Paragraph Style is applied to all text.
A Character Style is applied to the "portfolio" and "imdb.com"
"imdb.com" is an active Hyperlink, as per the Hyperlinks panel
Once copied, the Character Style is removed from "imdb.com".Bug happens if the Text Frame is copied, and/or if text is copied and pasted into new text box.
Bug happens in multiple INDD files.
Bug happens with different fonts.I successfully copied Hyperlinks with Character Styles about a month ago, as such, I believe the bug is related to InDesign 15.0 or 15.1

Ungespeicherte Dokumente verloren
Weil Adobe der Ansicht war, es müsse mal kurz Indesign neustarten und die Zugangsdaten überprüfen, habe ich gerade zwei ungespeicherte Dokumente verloren! Die Arbeit von acht Stunden!
Es wurde zwar abgefragt, ob ich speichern will oder nicht, aber diese Frage kam so überraschend, dass ich gar nicht so schnell realisieren konnte, was da eigentlich los ist. Ich habe versucht, den Vorgang mit Esc abzubrechen. Daraufhin wurde Indesign ohne Speichern der geöffneten Dokumente trotzdem geschlossen.
Hören Sie gefälligst auf, Ihre dämlichen Spielchen auf fremden Computern zu spielen! Sie können nicht einfach ohne Vorwarnung und Begründung ein Programm schließen, mit dem gerade gearbeitet wird! To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received an email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.
We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding: Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.
We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2021(v16.0.0.77) as it is more robust and contains a lot of bug fixes.

Darstellungsfehler in der neuen Review-Funktion
Problem: Platzierung einer (sehr einfachen) nativen Illustrator-Grafik mit einigen Deckkraftmasken funktioniert in InDesign prima, aber in der Review-Darstellung sind plötzlich Elemente halbtransparent zu sehen, die ganz bzw. gar nicht dort sein dürften. Offenbar ist diese Voransicht deutlich weniger präzise als ein erzeugtes PDF ... ?!?

Random Crashing of InDesign after sitting idle for long periods of time
InDesign 2020 .1 and following has crashed on my computer a number of times after sitting idle fora long time. I've sent in the crash reports on most of the occurrences of this.
The second thing that isn't working right is that hide application isn't working right on my mac which is operating using Catalina with a late 2012 iMac 27" with 24 gb of ram. The window just goes inactive but hides the desktop and is in full opaque view.
and 3. When I open a file that has been made using a customized workspace, the app uses the default essentials work space. I select my customized work space but it always says Essentials in the work space list even when my customized workspace is being utilized.

InDesign 15.11 - Share for review: LINKS panel does not appear, even when Window shows it is active.
Share for Review only works in Advanced platform, but controls disappear at top. Link window does not appear even when selected. Switched to Book platform and got controls back, but Share for Review comments disappeared.

InDesign Comment Area for Edits and Notes
Is there a note feature in InDesign to add notes for edits? I have always added a text box from a copied email but wonder if their is a sidebar utility so I don't loose the notes as I page scroll. Normally I have 2 screens but I think this feature would be cool as I continue my career in InDesign.

Find/Change queries are changing font (INDD 15.0.3)
When I save a named find/change query, the font family Clickbits is replaced with Myriad. Individual find/changes work fine, but the queries just won't retain the correct font name.

Document Title
- InDesign 15.1.1 on Mac. Just updated on 6-24-20.
- Open file. Choose File Info. Attempt to type in the Document Title field.
- Should see the text I am typing.
- Text is not visible on screen. If you type something and then save the file, the text will be there the next time but you can't see all of it.
- See attached files.

Fan still running high in latest version of Indesign CC 15.1.1
Many people have commented in the user forums about this.
Have just installed the latest update and it's still happening. CPU processes listed for Indesign between an average of 94.1 to 104.6, sometimes dropping for a brief second to around 90.
MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, 64GB RAM
Hopefully this can get fixed as it was not an issue in the pre-June release.

Share for Review access settings - Public Link not available
I am trying to use the new Share for Review option. As outlined here, I should be able to switch the access options from invitation only to public which should give me the option to have people without an Adobe account review the content by simply inputting a password for access. However, I cannot switch from invitation only to public as I simply have the invitation only option as a fixed option and no dropdown to choose from. Is there an option somewhere that I need to enable first so I can publicly share these files for review? As of right now, as helpful as the review function is, I cannot use it if my reviewers first have to sign up for an Adobe account. That kind of defeats the purpose.

I've called a few times about this and this is the fastest way I've been shown to do Place MultiplePDF, resize pdf and fit proportionally:
• Script
• PlaceMultiplePDF
• New document
• Document Settings – deselect facing pages
• Move master page to this document and apply to all pages
• First page re-size PDF to margins
• Fit Page Proportionally
• CTRL ALT 4 to each page (document 898 pages)Can you come up with a script where you can re-size the pdf to the margins and fit the page proportionally? The CTRL ALT 4 is helpful but when you have to do it to 898 pages, it becomes a hassle.
