Control Bar not usable in an undocked window when using Application Frame
Most of us here are professionals. Professionals use multi-monitor setups. Some (myself included) may even use the Application Frame feature anyway.
When I do, and have multiple documents open, I happen to need to undock one of the documents that is open in Tabs and move it to my second monitor so that I can view them both at the same time.
So I have one document open in the application frame, and on the second monitor I have a floating window of another document.
If I now have the floating window active and I want to resize an object using the control bar in the application frame, I cannot do so. The dimensions and settings update as I select different objects, but they are all greyed out and unchangeable. I can even select the width or height values and type things in, but they can't be changed by pressing Enter. This is unbelievable since I cannot have a second Control Bar.
If Adobe spent the money they are putting into AI development, stealing people's creative work and making money out of it, on fixing bugs, they would actually make more money since more people would buy and enjoy their software.
Please fix your software

Adding a word starting with the Danish letter æ makes InDesign crash
Add a word starting with the Danish letter æ to an index invariably crashes InDesign, both the small æ and the capital Æ, no matter which method we use. Words where this letter is not placed at the beginning, like “bæverfælde", are no problem, nor are the two other Danish characters ø and å.
We also tried to add the words from a list, using a script which places index markers on every instance in the document; this did not make InDesign crash, but no entries were added either :-(
Perhaps connected to the fact that it is no longer possible to get such words sorted under the proper index sections headings Æ, Ø and Å?
InDesign 19.5.
Crash report submitted on July 25.
Attached screenshots of test file with problematic words marked in red, and wrong sorting marked in Sulphur, please see the Conditional text window for further explanation.
Uploading an InDesign file does seem possible here, but you may try for yourself to index the words "ærkebiskop" and "Æsop" in this text:
Læs denne herlige, gamle beskrivelse skrevet af etnolog, historiker, kartograf og ikke mindst ærkebiskop i Sverige i en årrække, Olaus Magnus. Den gamle græker Æsop er kendt for sine mange legendariske dyrefabler, som han skrev ned i 1400-tallet, og også her findes bæveren i en fabel.Add a word starting with the Danish letter æ to an index invariably crashes InDesign, both the small æ and the capital Æ, no matter which method we use. missing print presets after upgrading to v 19.5
I am running InDesign on Windows. All of my print presets have disappeared. Is there a way to restore them? If I can't, how can I prevent this from happening again? I have been working on InDesign for 6 years, and this is the first time it's happened to me.

If a user selects 'allow viewers to Search and Copy text in the published document' when publishing online, all the hyperlinks stop working
When publishing online, if a user checks the box, 'allow viewers to Search and Copy text in the published document', all the hyperlinks stop working properly. If you're lucky, a link may work the first time you click it, but then it won't work if you click it again (Latest version of INDD on a Mac).

Small arrows to adjust the coordinates
I love the new "Properties" window that adjusts automatically. But I really miss the little arrows next to the x/y coordinates and width/height to be able to adjust the values. Please add them back! :-)

Scripting Windows: Add page item after add swatch will delete added swatch
In ExtendScript on Windows only, adding any InDesign page item after adding a color will delete the color:
var doc = app.documents.add();
// adds black CMYK color
sw = doc.colors.add();
// this line will delete the color that was just added on Windows only
var rect = doc.rectangles.add();
alert(sw.isValid);
This actually manifested for me as a crash bug. This script crashes InDesign 2024 Windows:
var doc = app.documents.add(); var sw = doc.colors.add(); doc.rectangles.add({fillColor: sw});
This crashes because the last line deletes the swatch when it adds the rectangle, then tries to use the swatch.

align panel
My Align panel is just blank. Some of the Align options are showing up in my top dock area, but I need the Distribute options and those are nowhere to be found. All of my software is up to date (I'm on an iMac), I've tried restarting... still nothing. This was working find just last week and a couple days ago I noticed the panel was blank.

Modifier l'original
Merci d'avance.1 vote -
Align to decimal tab stop behavior changes to left justified if ligatures present
Indesign 19.5
Create something like a manual numbered list with the first tab set as a decimal tab stop and any word in the first line that contains a ligature.. It can be as simple as "[tab]2. fi".
Expected result is the period would align where the decimal tab stop is set. This will happen up until a ligature is introduced.
Once a ligature is present on the first line, the decimal tab stop behaves like a left-justified tab stop instead.

GDI Handles
Indesign 19.5 x64 does not cleanup GDI Handles on Windows 10 build 19045.4529, version 22H2.
This only occurs when the feature 'Turn on Overprint Preview' is enabled, and you start scrolling. When you disable that feature, you can scroll again without the GDI Handles being hogged by Indesign. The handles rae, after the feature is disabled, not released.
A 28 page project, and a scroll up and down trough the project, costed me almost 600 GDI handles, and when I'm at 10.000, Windows just stops serving new ones and Indesign will crash.
Expected outcome: GDI Handles do either not increase upon scrolling within the 'Overprint preview' function, or they are released once I disable the feature.
Currect outcome: GDI handles are held by the Indesign.exe process, up and until the 10.000 counter, with as a result that InDesign becomes unresponsive to the Operating System, debuggers cannot be attached anymore and the only option is to just kill it.
I've recorded my steps and included screenshots of the GDI Handles counter being aggressively moving up when I'm scrolling. However, it is in a ZIP file as how Windows serves them. This is the public link to the file in my Google Drive. It will be there for a few months, then I'll remove it, so please get it before then.

responsive
InDesign is not responsive, when I open it on my Macbook pro, it gets "stuck" and does not adapt to the screen size. Plus when I click on the full screen enlargement icon it doesn't work.

Acrobat extension for Chrome renders sheared rectangles incorrectly in PDF exported from InDesign CC 2022 / 24
Filled sheared rectangles in PDF documents exported from InDesign are rendered incorrectly in the Adobe Acrobat extension for Chrome, but displays as expected in other PDF readers [ Preview, Safari, Quickview, etc. ]. The sheared rectangles are displayed as a box of the fill colour with the outer bounds of the sheared shape. Adding a stroke suggests the sheared rectangle is preserved, but is not honoured by the fill.
Work around: Adding an additional anchor point, or rounding the corners, appears to correct this issue.

Hide Frame Edges
I'm working on Windows 11. I'm not sure what the InDesign version is but I just bought it two days ago.
Everything has been smooth so far but when I needed to hide the Frame Edges I met this issue. From what I found out there are two options: View > Extras > Hide Frame Edges or simply Ctrl + H
Neither case worked.

Adobe Fonts messes with installed/added fonts
Indesign 2022 and 2024, Windows 10.
Steps to reproduce:
1. With "Adobe Fonts" not activated in the Cloud client, add fonts to Indesign's \Fonts folder and start. Good example font: Roboto. The is a truetype font from Google.
2. Use any of the added fonts in a document and save. Close the document
3. Activate Adobe Fonts in the cloud client and restart Indesign. In case any of the added fonts is also available on Adobe Fonts, they're overridden by the cloud font, as the symbol in the font list (Type menu), next to the font, changes once you open Indesign the next time. In my case it was Roboto which then had a cloud symbol next to it.
4. Open the document again to find text now marked in red because of a missing font. I had to find out that the added Roboto font from Google and the Roboto font from Adobe are not the same. ID would now marked the added font as missing, because it changes its name to "Roboto (TT)".The only solution would then be to deactivate Adobe Fonts again.

style from word not recognised
When I, in a word document linked to Indesign add a style which begins with the name of anther style, followed by a comma (no space) and more text, InDesign does not recognise that this is a new style but instead treats it (and calls it) by the other (shorter) style name. Workaround is to e.g. use an underscore instead, but it took me quite a while that is was this issue that caused the strange indesign behaviour.

Bug texto oculto

Page navigation information built incorrectly in epubs exported from books (.indb files)
In InDesign 19.4 x64, when an epub export is created for a book (.indb file), page navigation links restart at page 1 for every document (.indd file). The toc.xhtml file looks okay despite this, but in the document xhtml files, the software is treating duplicates as non-unique and appending a sequence number to them. As a result, many of the links in the toc.xhtml file are broken. I've attached a text file showing portions of the relevant xhtml files illustrating this problem.
This is a major issue, because some epub distributors catch the error in validation and prevent the book from being uploaded. Amazon KDP doesn't care (for now), but IngramSpark does. I have to unzip the epub, manually remove the page navigation from the toc.xhtml file, and repackage it in order to distribute the epub through them.
Notes:
There is another request mentioning that the page numbers should reflect the page numbers in the book. If that were implemented, this problem would probably go away. However, that request indicates that the links work. Clearly, in my case, they do not work.
There is another request reporting that the Page Navigation checkbox does nothing. I've verified this. I tried to resolve the issue by unchecking Page Navigation, but the page navigation code was inserted into the files anyway.
