text color not showed in track change
In the Story Editor, when Track Changes is activated, there are 3 types of visual indicators for change: text color, background color, and marking. In practice only the marking and the background color work, while the text color is always displayed in black. Attached is a screenshot.

Hyperlinks to text anchors in separate interactive pdfs not working Indesign 19.5 & 19.4.
Bug in Indesign 19.4 & 19.5
System: Mac Studio, M2 Ultra, Sonoma 14.6.1Hyperlinks to text anchors in separate interactive pdfs not working Indesign 19.5 & 19.4.
1. create two pages with text anchors at the top. each page has two buttons, one leading the the other pdf (see files attached) each doc exported as Interactive PDF. In abode Acrobat (or any pdf reader) when you click the button it will not open the linked document.
This feature does work in Indesign 19.3. But I would like to be able to update to the latest versions....1 vote -
Recent files pulling in recently placed files instead of recent INDDs
When right-clicking the Indesign icon in the taskbar, the recent files shown are all files I recently placed in docs, instead of indesign files I was actually working on. I definitely did not open these in indesign.
See screenshot.

icon
.indd files are not showing up with icons in File Explorer. We have tried verifying default program for file extension, icon file path in the properties, updating graphics drivers, verifying the registry values, Revo uninstalling and then reinstalling, clearing Windows shortcut cache, but nothing is making the .indd files appear with the correct icon. We are using InDesign 2024 installed through Creative Cloud on Windows 11.

GDI Handles
Indesign 19.5 x64 does not cleanup GDI Handles on Windows 10 build 19045.4529, version 22H2.
This only occurs when the feature 'Turn on Overprint Preview' is enabled, and you start scrolling. When you disable that feature, you can scroll again without the GDI Handles being hogged by Indesign. The handles rae, after the feature is disabled, not released.
A 28 page project, and a scroll up and down trough the project, costed me almost 600 GDI handles, and when I'm at 10.000, Windows just stops serving new ones and Indesign will crash.
Expected outcome: GDI Handles do either not increase…

Hide Frame Edges
I'm working on Windows 11. I'm not sure what the InDesign version is but I just bought it two days ago.
Everything has been smooth so far but when I needed to hide the Frame Edges I met this issue. From what I found out there are two options: View > Extras > Hide Frame Edges or simply Ctrl + H
Neither case worked.

style from word not recognised
When I, in a word document linked to Indesign add a style which begins with the name of anther style, followed by a comma (no space) and more text, InDesign does not recognise that this is a new style but instead treats it (and calls it) by the other (shorter) style name. Workaround is to e.g. use an underscore instead, but it took me quite a while that is was this issue that caused the strange indesign behaviour.

Files won't open
Trying to open some files from File Explorer or within InDesign: Adobe Creative Cloud message states: "InDesign could not open "[file name]" because it has been created in a newer version - Adobe InDesign 19.4. You can convert and open this file but you may lose out on content created using the features specifgic to the latest versions. For the best experience, we recommend updating InDesign to the latest version." I am always updated since I use the auto-update feature for all products. If I attempt to use the "Update" link provided I get this message: "You're up to date!".…

Indesign 2024 not working with window-snapping apps
I recently upgraded to InDesign 2024. I use BetterSnapTool to arrange my app-windows in order to have a efficient and practical workflow. But InDesign 2024 does not work with BetterSnapTool (BST) or any other window-snapping apps due to this reason I received from the BST support:
"Unfortunately all window manager apps on macOS are affected by this, Adobe has broken their window resizing behavior in their recent updates. Their products do not respond correctly to window resizing requests using the macOS Accessibility API anymore. As of now I don't think there is anything I can do to fix this. If…1 vote -
misaligned InCopy Galley/Story cursor when World-Ready composer and inline notes are used
The cursor in InCopy's Galley/Story view is misaligned when the underlying paragraph style specifies a "World Ready" paragraph composer AND inline notes precede the cursor in the same paragraph as the cursor.
Steps to reproduce:
- Launch InCopy 2023
- Make a new document.
- Enter text for two paragraphs.
- Make a paragraph style for the first paragraph and specify the "Adobe World-Ready Paragraph Composer." Apply that style to the 1st paragraph.
- Make a 2nd paragraph style based on the first, but specify the "Adobe Paragraph Composer" (i.e., NOT World-Ready). Apply that to the 2nd paragraph.
- Insert…1 vote -

InDesign Windows all over the shop
I am currently using three screens for my work. Whenever I select a window from the menu, the flyouts appear in a hidden or hard-to-see location on any of my screens, usually in the bottom left corner. As a result, I can only see the header of the flyout, which becomes problematic when it is hidden behind other flyouts.
In my opinion, when a window/flyout is selected from the menu, it should appear in the centre of the active screen and on top for easy visibility.

Never break a word with Thai hyphenation dictionary
In English it is possible to add a hyphenation word to the user dictionary and if you want the word never to be hyphenated, type a tilde before its first letter. This will force the word to never break.
However with Thai you can add the word with the tilde but InDesign will not respect that word. The word will still be broken.

Stop stealing focus
Please find a way to make InDesign stop stealing focus every time it does something. It does it 3 separate times on launch, every PDF export, and every time a file finished opening. Some files are 100MB+ and can take time to load, so sitting around waiting for it is not something people with work to do can afford to do all the time, and getting focus stolen in the middle of an email is not a good way to maintain workflow. It's unnecessary behavior, please fix it. This bug is present on 6 of 6 machines we use, spanning…

Links panel content overflow
Since upgrading to InDesign 2024, we've encountered a persistent issue where the Links Panel becomes overwhelmed with linked assets. This overflow makes the panel difficult, if not impossible, to use effectively.
Problem Description:
The issue manifests when working with documents that contain a large number of unique linked assets. Upon selecting an asset (e.g., an image) within a page, the Links Panel attempts to highlight the corresponding link. However, instead of functioning as expected, the panel becomes cluttered and overflows with the document's other links, severely hindering our ability to work efficiently.Steps to Reproduce:
Ensure your document contains a…

InDesign HTML export writes user CSS file in wrong order, ahead of base CSS
Since at least v18, InDesign export to HTML writes any user-designated CSS files ahead of the base, idGenerated CSS file. This means user statements are wholly or partially overwritten by the base statements.
This has been discussed and noted in the forum since at least v18, and I thought a bug notice had been entered here but I cannot locate it.
This fault is critical for any users trying to export to HTML and use CSS style overrrides. Problems are likely elusive and frustrating since the "wrong interaction" of the CSS order may not be apparent unless and until the…
