I have had the same problem and it is creating HAVOC with my workflow; I have nearly deleted the wrong folder multiple times. PLEASE FIX!!! I am begging you.

Same problem. Win 10 PC let's me move the package folder, but then generates a new copy of the same folder structure, with only the Fonts/AdobeFnt.lst left behind. MASSIVELY aggravating and confusing, as I'll move a package folder into a "complete" folder, or delete a package folder, only to find there is still a partial copy of the folder structure left behind.

Similar issue here. I'm not sure when the extra folders are being created, but so far I have deleted three of them. I trash the folder when I see it, and later a new one has appeared.

We have the same issue too! But instead of having to duplicate the folder or, you can just rename the original folder!

So this means, you can open a document inside a folder that also has a Documents Folder. Close the document, but keep indesign open. Rename the original folder. Once you now open the same InDesign File again, it creates a new folder on the same place as the original one, with the name before you renamed it! Inside is as stated above just a Document Fonts folder and a AdobeFnt21.lst file! I have reproduced this on multiple machines running InDesign 15.0.2 and Mojave! Please fix!

Bug started happening after update to InDesign 15.0.2

Steps to reproduce the issues:
- Open an InDesign file that is contained in a folder that has been packaged. This folder includes the "Document Fonts Folder"
- Close the InDesign File.
- Open Another InDesign File that is in another packaged folder (that contains the "Document Fonts Folder" that is not related to the first file you opened.
- A NEW DUPLICATED FOLDER will be created from the PREVIOUS FILE that was opened, and placed where the file was last opened.
- THIS NEW DUPLICATED FOLDER will only contain the "Document Fonts" folder and inside that, will only contain the file "AdobeFnt21.Ist" file - NOTHING ELSE
- Throwing this "Ghost Folder" away does not have any effect, once any other InDesign file is opened, the Folder will re-appear.
- The more InDesign files that are opened the more DUPLICATE ghost folders appear from previous InDesign files that were opened.
- Quitting InDesign will reset the process.
- I can avoid these folders being created if I quite InDesign every time I open an InDesign File that is contained in a packaged folder with the "Document Fonts Folder.
- This can be a damaging bug, since the "Ghost Folder" has the same exact name as the original, it's very easy to replace the original job folder with all the working files with the "Ghost Folder", overwriting it, and losing all of your work, history, and files in the folder.

Here are the steps we use to recreate the issue on multiple systems. Package a document to a folder or the desktop. Close all open documents. Rename the packaged folder (we just remove 'folder' from the name). Re-open the original file you packaged from. The packaged folder (before you renamed it) will reappear on the desktop with only the Document fonts folder containing the fntlist file, nothing else - no IND file, no links.

After updating to Adobe InDesign 2020, packaging an InDesign document results in creating duplicate project folders with only the document fonts included in the duplicate folders.

These folders appear a few minutes after packaging the folder. Every time I package one document, It seems to duplicate all folders of projects packaged after the update to 2020.

This aggravates me even more than some viruses out there.

Same problem, after latest InDesign version install.
Quitting and re-opening InDesign each time does help, but is a pain.

Same here, was starting to go crazy trying to figure out what was happening. Glad to see I'm not the only one.... NOT glad to see Adobe broke something once again...

This has been happening to me for about a week now. Even after deleting the trash contents, the AdobeFnt21.lst file and the folders above it keep duplicating to the desktop anytime a file is opened or packaged.

When disconnected from a network, and working locally from the desktop, I found that the duplication stopped. Once the Ethernet cable was reconnected the folders started replicating instantaneously... even when the trash had been emptied.

InDesign CC 2020 15.0.2

When packaging a file in InDesign 2020 15.0.2, any previous documents that have been opened during this session will also have folders created with only a folder continuing a file called AdobeFnt21.lst.

For instance, I open file myfile123.indd and package it, everything is fine. I close that file but leave InDesign running. I then open myfile456.indd and package it. It will properly package the second file, but also create another folder with the name of the first file and the only thing in the folder is the AdobeFnt21.lst file. If I close Indesign completely after packaging the first file, the second file will package without the extra folder. Seems to be a bug in this version as this did not happen prior to 15.0.2.

Ive got the same issue... Ive tried restarting deleting files and all sorts.. Cant get rid of them!

Same issue (macOS Catalina 10.15.2 / InDesign 2020 15.0.2).

There is also another font issue, too - I am missing some font styles from a font family - “Bold” disappear from the family. But it’s installed (not font resolutions) and seen in other programs.

This happens on different fonts families on different documents.

Steps are:
1. Package a file including links and fonts to separate folder on the desktop (my 'today's work' folder).
2. Move the newly packaged folder back to the original location from which it was packaged, replacing the original folder completely. I would do this if, for example, I've changed some images in the layout so need to refresh the links folder. Running an entire package keeps links fully updated.
3. Open the InDesign file again by double-clicking on the desktop.

The result is a duplicate folder with the same folder name reappears in my 'today's work' folder. This new folder contains a duplicate Document fonts folder but does not duplicate the InDesign file, or the Links folder.

This new duplicate folder will always appear in the folder which the packaged files were saved to.

This will happen multiple times if you repeat the above steps. The only way to stop it happening is to quit and relaunch InDesign. After doing this, the duplicate folder stops appearing.

Same issue-- Have been able to successfully replicate the issue on three different computers. You package a file, then move it to the trash. Package a new file, and the old folder reappears with AdobeFont.lst inside. Sometimes more than one folder will appear.
