Text with multiple tabs set to glyph scaling 95% is warped
Version: InDesign 17.3
Steps to reproduce: create a text frame 101*15 mm
copy/paste the following text "ABCDEFG AT 00:00 | ABCEFG abcdefg of the ABCDEFGH" (note that there are multiple tabs and spaces)
set the paragraph style as shown in screen-shot "style"

European characters recognized as Kanjis in composite fonts
I'm editing a Chinese document containing certain European characters such as ē and í.
I've created a composite font that uses Roboto for numbers and latin alphabets, and Noto Sans CJK for the Chinese characters.Recently I noticed some of the European characters are incorrectly recognized as Kanjis, and are set to Noto Sans CJK instead of Roboto.
By testing my composite font settings, I confirmed that these misbehaving characters are being recognized as Kanjis (the top row in the composite font window).
- InDesign version: 17.3
- Create a composite font as shown in Screen Shot 1
- I expect all European characters to also be recognized as Latin alphabets
- Some of the European characters are recognized as Kanjis, as can be seen in Screen Shot 2. The difference is subtle, to compare, I placed two ē side by side, and manually set the left one to Roboto and the right one to the composite font, see Screen Shot 3.

Paragraph Borders appearing incorrectly between paragraphs at top/bottom of page
InDesign 17.3 (2022) running on an Apple M1 chip
When several adjacent paragraphs have the same border settings, the treatment of borders at the top/bottom of the page vary depending on whether the pages break BETWEEN paragraphs, or WITHIN paragraphs. They should function the same.
In the attached screenshot, query-bordersappearing.png is incorrect (ACTUAL RESULT).
The rules should disappear as seen in query-bordersnotappearing.png (EXPECTED RESULT, even if the page break falls between paragraphs).
The only difference between the two screenshots is I pulled up the bottom of the box on the left-hand page to force the text to break within a paragraph, rather than between paragraphs.
The file query-bordersettings.png shows the border setting for all the paragraphs involved.

Having issues updating files which are published online.
Hi there, I am having problems trying to amend (override) an already 'published online' indesign file. I really liked the capability of this function as it means that other sites where my file is embedded, do not need to be updated and I can go directly to the source without the html link changing. Version 17.3

keyboard shortcut
Hello. keyboard shortcut do not work. I think it is due to the fact that the default set is devoted to windows and not to OS.
Can you produce a Default ME.txt devoted to OS 12.1 ?
Have you an other explaination ?1 vote -
All adobe apps temporarily freeze when another adobe app is saving.
I've noticed this since the last update. When InDesign is saving, all other Adobe apps temporarily freeze until InDesign completes saving. Not a problem most of the time for quick saving documents, but for larger projects like catalogs, I can be stuck for 5-10 minutes until INDD completes saving.

idml letter spacing
Hi Team ID,
We love the IDML export because we can send that to our translation office and get close to final-artwork-files back. But we realized paragraph and character styles which include letter spacing values do not have letter spacing any more after export. Can you fix this please?Thank you

In tagged PDF, selecting a tag highlights multiple paragraphs - Indesign/Acrobat Bug
In an Indesign document, suppose a hyperlink exists in a line with shift-enter at the end of that line. In tagged PDF, the <p> tag of a paragraph that has hyperlink with shift-enter, highlights including the content of the next paragraph and leaving the tag of that next para empty.
The same issue will not occur when we remove the shift-enter in that line and export the Tagged PDF.
The hyperlink may be in single or multi-line.
Attached sample PDF file and screenshots.

InDesign overset text copies entire document
InDesign is creating a problem wherein I finish an entire document and it still says there is overset text. When I create a new frame to put it into to see what it is, I find that InDesign has duplicated the text of the entire document. When I try to delete the extra, it just copies the text over and over and puts it right back, including if I try to delete the frame that the extra text is inside of. How do I make this stop?

Ctrl-0 then paste no longer quite centres
It appears the latest version doesn't quite centre when doing the normal 'cut object > ctrl/cmd-0 to centre and fill the page on the viewport > paste'. On a 210mm x 280mm layout it's giving a centre co-ordinate of 105.112mm x 140.112mm rather than 105mm x 140mm.

Bug: Indesign randomly doesn't save
System: Windows 19, Indesign 17.1
Steps to reproduce (though the trigger of this problem isn't known):
1. Open a file, change something. The asterisk next to the file name marks there are unsaved changes.
2. Hit Ctrl+s, then Ctrl+w to close. It will ask you to save again.
3. Cancel that requester and hit Ctrl+s again, plus Ctrl+w. The same.
4. Cancel again, then use the menu entry "Save", then hit Ctrl+w. Same story. The asterisk remains and ID also doesn't lock as it usually does when saving (I'm not network, saving files take a few seconds). In this situation it would only save the file when you click Yes in the "Save the file?" requester after Ctrl+w.

CC library issues - errors importing and no browser sync
I am using Adobe Cloud v17.3 and have 2 related issues:
When I try to import a CC library, it doesn't fully import. Only a few items appear.
This library has been successfully imported on other occasions, so I am confused.I have built another CC library within my InDesign environment. When I try to view it online, it says that I don't have any libraries?!

Strange blanks – personalization
I have a table that I use for data merge. There are empty cells in it: an academic title that not everyone has
Example
Salutation: Dear
Academic title: Dr.
Last name: MillerI I only have one text field, which makes things difficult for personalization for people who don't have an academic title:
" <<Salutation>> <<Academic Title>> <<Surname>> " --> " Dear Dr. Miller"
In the place where the academic title should be, these blanks appear, which can only be removed manually. With a list of 1,000 invitations, this is an enormous amount of time.
Via Search/Replace I cannot find the characters ... Support has not been able to help me either. Is there possibly an elegant solution for this problem? Now I have to split the tables in 2 for people with academic title & without, so the blanks are normal.

InDesign display shift problems
- Version: InD 17.3 x64, in Windows 10 Enterprise, Intel(R) Xeon(R) W-10885M CPU @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz, 128GB RAM. I'm halfway wondering if having the system's display scaling set to 125% is disagreeing with the InD app....
- Steps causing issue: Make edits on a page with text frames and placed graphics.
- Expectation: Layout items render normally.
- Result: Sections of layout display shift by several pixels, creating broken display of layout. Uploading mild examples (part of top edge of graphic has shifted; section of edges of frames has shifted). Often lines of text are half cut off by the effect. Can happen when doing something as simple as clicking into a text frame.

2. From the menu select to arrange them as "4-up vertical"
3. Press Ctrl-0 on all to fit the documents into the window
