1. [ID-4230173]Custom Workspace is not retained.

   InDesign 2025 workspace resets to basic/essentials every time i open the program or another document. I have a workspace saved and the program is not honoring that.

2. Font and color selection is not working

   Hello.
   I am using Indesign 2025 which was automatically updated on my computer on M1 Max MBP with Sequoia 15.1.1.

   When i try to change a swatch color on an object or a paragraph style on text, indesign will not allow me to make my selection. It will register the selection for a brief moment, and then the icon will deselect the option and my request was not taken into account. This bug is very frustrating as it is not allowing me to make any changes needed.
   This is a relatively new bug that was not there in indesign 2024 when i did this last a few weeks/months ago.

3. Paragraph style not applying when selecting the wanted style

   Indesign version 20.0.1

   When highlighting the desired text that I wish to apply the paragraph style to and clicking on the preferred paragraph style. The click animation attempts to very briefly 'grab' the style rather than select it. This works on any paragraph style I try.

   I have a similar issue when selecting a colour swatch to apply, the only option is to grab and drag the desired swatch to where it is needed.

   I also cannot change the font when selecting the text I wish to change and selecting a font from the drop down.

   This is only a recent issue for me that I have experienced over the past week or so.

   I have tried using older versions of Indesing such as 19.5 & 19.4. And am still having the same issues.

4. Persistent Cursor and Functionality Issues in Adobe InDesign After macOS Sequoia 15.1.1 Update

   Description of the Issue:

   I’m experiencing multiple issues with Adobe InDesign across different versions (including the latest and earlier releases) after updating to macOS Sequoia 15.1.1. These problems occur consistently across various files and significantly disrupt workflow.

   Issues encountered:

   Unable to apply colors from the swatch palette – clicking on a swatch does not work for either text or objects.
   Styles (both text and object) cannot be applied by clicking; I must use right-click and "Apply Style" instead.
   Frames on the page shift a few millimeters upon clicking, seemingly on their own.
   Stroke color for objects cannot be selected or modified.
   The selection tool lags and causes objects to move slightly to the left when selected.
   Fonts cannot be changed from the toolbar – clicking the dropdown does nothing.
   These issues are highly disruptive and make it impossible to work efficiently. No other changes have been made to my system aside from the macOS update, so I suspect it is the root cause of the problems.

   I would appreciate guidance on resolving these issues as soon as possible.

5. automatic page numbering broken

   Indesign 2025 update has broken automatic page numbering?

   When I open one of my indb's the chapters page panels have the folios correct BUT the actual page section start at 1.

   I am having to use "start page numbering". This is yet another task introduced by a feature broken on an InDesign update!

6. Cannot apply Paragraph/Character Styles

   Indesign 19.5 and 20.0.1

   Steps to resolve:
   Reinstalling latest Indesign (20.0.1), restarting my iMac, reverted to a previous version of ID (19.5), copied the file to my desktop to open from there, started a fresh document and tried to create new Styles (doesn't let me), opened another document which has styles that worked (they also don't work any more), deleted preferences, and finally I have updated my iMac and that hasn't fixed it either.

   Expected result:
   Font Styles panel should work as it should be (and as it did 3 days ago) in that you click on a Style and it applies it instantly. I should not have to Right Click/Apply Style.

   Actual Result:
   Cannot select or apply styles from the Style panel. Clicking on the style in the panel makes the selected item flicker, but nothing gets selected or applied and it stays the same default font. I can only change the style if I right click on the Style and 'Apply Style' which is clunky OR if it go to Type/Font/etc from the top menu, but that doesn't help with the Styles Menu. Sometimes trying to change the font from the dropdown panel produces no results and it's very laggy to change.

   The whole fonts system seems to be broken across both my iMac and laptop

   Indesign 19.5 and 20.0.1

7. Mouse click doesn't register properly

   On MacOS IdDesign 20.0.1 and 19.5.1 improperly register mouse clicks.

   As this misbehaviour started recently I suspect that some Apple patch broken something.
   But I do not experience any issues in other applications! Everything seems to work normally but InDesign.

   If you click a frame, InD registers a click-and-hold while I just clicked it with trackpad and lifted the finder up (see video).

   Second, if I put editing mark into the text and go to Paragraph style to apply it, the palette doesn’t register the click properly—it seems it registers a drag, not a click! I can only try to click multiple times in a row, very quickly, and then there’s a chance the click will be registered (as on the second video).

   Clicks with Wacom tablet seem to register properly in first case, while paragraph / text style are broken in both cases.

   I encountered that issue using macOS Sonoma, so I decided to upgrade to MacOS Sequoia, but with no effect. I’m working on MacBookPro18,3 with Apple M1 Pro.

   Work is almost impossible now…

8. anchored width and height gets loose

   The anchor between the element width and height in the top menu switches to un-anchored directly after unselecting an element or at selecting another element.

9. indesign reverting unit selection

   Each time I set up a new document in InDesign (and only in indesign this happens), it defaults to Pica measurement (my preference is set to mm) and when I change it and begin to fill out the measurements, it reverts back to pica 2-3 times before it'll stay on mm.

   I've tried:
   -re installing
   -changing/checking preferences
   -resettting preferences

   Unsure if a bug or something I've missed.

10. Publish Online Dashboard is Down

    I can't access any of the documents I've published online as an ePub. indd.adobe.com isn't working; the error code says it can't be accessed with HTTP error 503. Please can someone address this?

11. Project goes blank

    I've been using the new Indesign 20.0 and it will often go blank to a completely grey screen in the working area. I can see the toolbar, and even the image gizmo but none of the actual content. I tried switching preview modes and to presentation mode and nothing works besides just quitting out and opening it back up. It seems to happen when it's been in the background for a while and I switch back to it. It's extremely frustrating. I'm on a Macbook Pro M3 maxed out specs on Mac OS Sequia 15.0.1 (24A348).

    This may be related but even when the content is visible and I'm trying to re-position my images in their frames I can't see the box outline or handles. Whats odd is when the content goes blank I can see the image outline and handles. Not sure if the box/handle color is blending in with my background or what is going on, I just have to hover my mouse and guess where an edge is. That is a constant issue. I had tried to see if i could change the color of the box/handles but it doesn't seem so. Also very frustrating.

13. embeded Illustrator documents in InDesign looses page information, after being used in library

    We have following situation:
    InDesign library with an embeded Illustrator document. this document has pages (used for different icons). I have placed page 3 of the Illustrator file in as InDesign document. I place the element in an library in InDesign.
    I place the same object from the library in the document. The Element looses the pageinformation. the preview is still correct, but when i export an PDF it collects the information from the illustrator file again and it has an other icon in its place…

    So it is a massive problem of missmanaging elements and creates Errors in production! Please fix ASAP!

    MACOS 14.6.1
    INDD 19.5
    Illustrator 29.0 (created in an earlier version)

    Can not export as PDF, it simply keeps spinning for hours and nothing happens. Very slow performance compared to earlier versions, nearly unusable.

15. [ID-4256174]InDesign crashes while searching any font/word, etc., which is in overset text.

    We have simple scripts that operate on script labels to Find and Replace Text, adjust Text Size, things like that. We've been using them for three years with no problems prior to v2025. They crash and bring up the option to send an error report. We're rolling back to 2024 now, we can't operate efficiently without these scripts.

16. New document size issues

    When I create a new document in any Adobe program (mostly InDesign) and select what size I want to change it to (whether it be custom or a print size), the size reverts back to a previous size. I have to do this 3-5 times before I get the size I want. It has been like this on the last few updates. I'm currently on the latest InDesign version 20.0 2025. Others I work with don't have the same issue and are on the same IOS (macOS Monterey 12.7.6) and InDesign as I am. Mac IOS and Adobe programs are all on the latest version available.

17. After updating to InDesign v20.0 Apple Emoji characters are NO LONGER SUPPORTED in the names of "Adobe PDF presets"!

    THIS BUG IS PRESENT since the update to InDesign v20.0.
    Menu: InDesign > File > Adobe PDF Presets

    After updating to InDesign v20.0 Apple Emoji characters are NO LONGER SUPPORTED in the names of "Adobe PDF presets"!
    After many years of functioning perfectly, now with version 20.0 Adobe dropped support of Apple Emoji characters in"PDF presets", resulting, that "PDF presets" can no longer imported to the latest version of InDesign!
    Symptome 01: after updating to InDesign 20.0 the existing presets with names containing Apple Emoji symbols are deleted.
    Symptome 02: When trying to import previous "PDF-presets" ith names containing Apple Emoji symbols, these DO NOT IMPORT into InDesign 20.0!
    Symptome 03: In InDesign 20.0, when creating new "PDF-presets" Apple Emoji characters in the preset name after saving the preset it just disappears without trace!

18. Export to HTML5 - options cannot be accessed

    In the new Indesign there is this HTML5 export advertised. So I gave a try. But it is quite unfinished. I attached a screenshot - a dialog appears on the top of the export options panel, due to this the export options cannot be accessed. Closing the top dialog automatically starts the export process. Clicking "Cancel" cancels the main dialog as well.

19. V 20.0 Bugs

    Text box content disappearing. Only will reappear after box is moved or typed in. Some content may appear and some will not be visible until box is moved again. This happens often when typing or deleting text.
    Also, now I only have 2 undos. History only shows two items.
    Just updated to 20.0 and these issues occurred right after. Please fix!

    We will need more info on this, is this happening with all documents or with some specfic documents.

    Does this happen after creating or opening documents or both?

    What are the steps you have performed which are not there in History?

20. IDML file exported from InDesign CC 2025 moves objects randomly

    A file exported from InDesign CC 2025 and imported to CC 2024 is corrupted. Some objects (page numbers on parent pages) are randomly relocated. This is pathetic.

    We would require more information on this.

    Is this happening with all files or some specific files?

    Are only page numbers getting relocated or other elements as well?

    Is this happening with only parent page objects or with objects on normal pages as well?
