escape key works intermittently
On macOS, escape key works intermittently to close any dialog box, such as placed image, export, or save as. For decades, I have been flying along using the escape key to dismiss dialog boxes—until these latest versions. SO frustrating. Please fix!

Indesign 15.1.2
Depuis hier, mes raccourcis clavier "dupliquer/déplacer" (fleche+option+cliquer glisser) ne fonctionne plus.
De même, déplacer un objet ou le faire tourner avec la touche majuscule pour qu'ils se déplace selon un axe horizontal/vertical ou qu'il tourne selon 45° ne fonctionne plus :-(
Je ne trouve pas pourquoi...
J'ai la dernière version OS et Adobe..

Backup
I recently lost an important job that I developed in InDesign, due to failure in the external hard drive. I use other programs that make automatic backups and that create a backup copy of the file, thus making it possible to recover lost work through an automatic copy made by the program. Would it be possible to have this mechanism in InDesign?

Inline Text Frame beside another inline Text Frame when Auto-Size
- Make Text Frame and write word "Second".
- Cut the Text Frame.
- Make larger Text Frame and paste the "Second" Text Frame inside.
- Select the character represented the Text Frame copy and paste before without any space between.
- Select the second one change Auto-Size to Height Only.
- Select the first one and change Auto-Size to Height Only.
- Crash!

Please update to this new version of InDesign to get the fix.—

1) 日本語版でルビのショートカット「Ctrl+Alt+R」が動作しません。2) ダイアログのいくつかの項目が日本語用にローカライズできていません。「preview」など。2017版では動作していました。

Change of indesign behaviour regarding form elements - problems of non printing elements
Indesign Version 15.12x64 Windows
I opened an old document (paper registration/order form) and suddenly became aware that something has happened.
A lot of input fields was visible - in the old version i did never see tham in this view.
But this was not the problem.
The problem was, that if I converted the cocument to PDF with the STANDARD PRINT preset , all boxes were gone.
After some investigation i found out, that those have been converted to intaractive elements also without my knowledge.
Only after i changed the option "INTERACTIVE ELEMENTS" the very last option on the PDF…

Using non-breaking spaces and exporting PDF using interactive PDF setting creates small boxes in PDF. Using Adobe InDesign 15.1.2 and macOS Catalina. I have tried multiple fonts in case it was a font issue. This just started happening last week when I did an update.

'Reveal in CC Libraries' Doesn't Work
Selecting a link and clicking 'Reveal in CC Libraries' opens the Libraries panel but doesn't actually find or reveal the asset, which is the functionality I would expect from such a button.

Cursor disappears – ID 15.1.2 and Mojave
Using the Rectangle Frame Tool, the cursor disappears seemingly randomly. Other tools seem to work fine.

discrepancy with the unit of measurement v15.1.2 on macOS Mojave v10.14.6
There is a discrepancy with the unit of measurement. Even tho it is set up to inches, the "new document" dialog box keeps the bleed, margins, and gutter in millimeters.

Even though the book contains three chapters, bookmarks only appear for two chapters
InDesign 2020 - I have create a multi-chapter book. When I use the function "Esporta libro su PDF…" the file PDF obtained has the summary correct (all the chapters are dysplayed) but bookmarks only appear for two chapthers.
I've tried changing the order of the chapters to see if it's a file problem, but the result doesn't change. The last chapter does not appear in bookmarks list.I remain at disposal for any clarification

Crash when placing DOCX with character styles
Steps:
1. Attempt to place place Word.docx in an InDesign 2020 document.
2. InDesign spends a long time parsing character styles.
3. Resaved Word file as .doc file and was able to import it. I don't know what information (if any) in the Word file was lost. This is not an ideal solution.Link above "How to Submit Crash Report" is dead. I have previously submitted several crash reports through the InDD/system interface.
1 voteWe have released InDesign 2021(v16.0.0.77) with a lot of stability fixes. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version (if you’re not already on it) as it is more robust.

Page number underline
Page numbering with underline aligned left and centre has a horizontal offset underline. Only aligned right seems to be working correctly.

layout moves when dragging pictures from windows explorer
When I have a grid of empty frames that I wish to populate with images that I am dragging from windows explorer, as I fill them the view of the layout shifts meaning I have to keep adjusting my view as items move outside the view. Everything is visible at the start so this auto view shift is really unhelpful and considering the volume of work this affects it would be a real time saver if it didn't happen.

Based on paragraph style doesn't show group the style is in
In Indesign 2020 when paragraph styles are based on other paragraph styles that are within a group, the based on area does not indicate which group the style is in, it only shows the name of the style. Which makes it difficult to know which actual style it's based on if you have multiple styles with the same name that are in various groups. Screen shots of Indesign 2020 attached and Indesign CS6 where it did show the group name in the based on area.
