  4. Table header is missing after copy/paste

When I copy/paste a table, the header line is missing. My workaround is to change the height of the next line, then the header line appears. Then I change the height back to the actual height.

  5. Repeatable InDesign Crash with Open Office Data in the Clipboard

I am running InDesign CC, the current version as of March 2018, however I have seen this same bug in older versions of the program. It is not unique to this version.

We use Apache OpenOffice 4.1.0. If there is ANYTHING in the clipboard copied from ANY part of Open Office, it will cause a repeatable InDesign crash. The clipboard data could be text from the OpenOffice Writer program or cell data from the OpenOffice Calc program...it doesn't matter.

With Open Office data in the clipboard, if I attempt to use any of the right-click menus, or choose an item…

  6. Publish Online Dashboard Analytics disappearing...

Apparently, the analytics for Publish Online are disappearing. Possibly anything before the most recent 25 are gone. Will those be returning? Can we recover that data? My clients need the info and sometimes request it months later, and we publish a ton of stuff using the system.

  7. Alternate text added to graphic missing in exported PDF when using Articles panel.

1.) Apply alternate text to graphic using Object > Object Export Options.

    2.) Anchor graphic into frame

3.) Add containing text frame to Articles panel.

4.) Export to PDF including tags

The result is that the exported PDF file doesn't have the alternate text applied

Indesign 2018 is a disaster, full of bugs and crashes at any time.
This was a good program, but now it's just a misery. Costs both time and money.
I will work with older versions in the future and hope that any new player will find a better software.

It would not be wrong with a phone number on the website, but you're probably ashamed.

  12. Endnotes not accessible in InCopy

I finally figured out where the endnotes disappeared to when I imported a document from Word, only to find out that they will not link to the story text boxes and are inaccessible from InCopy. This adds all sorts of problems to our workflow.

  13. Beveled and Embossed image should not flatten during pdf export

    A bug that needs fixing:
InDesign Version CC, I embedded an image, applied a shear, applied the bevel and emboss effect, when exporting to pdf, it flattens the sheared image and adds a weird bevel in the middle of the image. Screenshot 1 from InDesign, Screenshot 2 from resulting pdf. This needs to be corrected.

  14. Non-Printing Layers in Italics

InDesign no longer italicizes the name of non-printing layers in the layers panel. This made a scan of which layers were printing or non-printing quick and easy.

With the 2018 update, it seems like non-printing layer names just display as a SLIGHTLY lighter weight of the standard layer name type, making it hard to tell which layers are doing what at a glance.

An update that clearly demarcates non-printing layers would be appreciated.

  15. Opening file in Adobe InDesign CC 2018 prevents same file from opening in InCopy CC 2018

InCopy CC 2018 users get kicked out of file if file is opened in InDesign CC 2018. InCopy CC 2018 cannot open files create in InDesign CC 2018. See attachment.

  16. Can not start InDesign CC 2018

I can not start the InDesign CC 2018 after the update from CC 2017. The program did not start. Nothing happened. Need I some special rights, now? What could be the reason?

  17. file name variable shows extension when placed in another document

This is specific use that may not apply to most users, but it did work in previous versions. In Indesign 13.0.1, create a file that uses the file name text variable and then place this document into another document. The text variable should show the name of the file minus the file extension, and it shows correctly in the first file. But when you place the ID file into another file, the extension shows. This worked in previous versions of ID and caught me by surprise when it didn't work in the latest version, forcing me to use the additional…

  18. form field tag export

Current version - InDesign CC 2018

Form field tags are not created when exporting an interactive .pdf with tags.

    To recreate:
    1. Create a form with form fields.
    2. Add everything to Articles pane in order from top to bottom per page.
    3. Export to interactive .pdf, make sure to elect to create tags and set tabbing order by structure.

Expected result - when the file runs through the Accessibility checker in Acrobat Pro - it passes.

Actual result - all form fields are missing tags and does not pass the accessibility checker.

Everything worked great before I updated InDesign…

  20. Object style size property crashes InDesign when used with Libraries

I have recreated this bug on both Mac and PC InDesign 13.0

    1. Create a text box

    2. Insert a table with any number of table cells

    3. Draw a rectangle anywhere

    4. Create a new Object Style and set Size and Position Options -> Size -> Adjust: to Height Only

    5. Apply the Object Style to the rectangle

    6. Cut and past the rectangle into one of the cells of the table

    7. Create a new Library file

    8. Drag the text box into the Library

    9. Try drag the Library item back out onto the page... It should crash.

This has become very problematic for us because…
