Big Sur "Half Fold - Print Outside" Bug
Printing from a Mac with OS Big Sur, Version 16.1 Indesign. Ricoh MP C3504ex with PostScript card.
The printing option "Half Fold - Print Outside" will result in only 1 print no matter how many copies you choose.
Example I want 15 copies of a church bulletin I apply the necessary settings and hit print. Instead of getting 15 I only get 1.
Tested on High Sierra with Indesign V 13.1 and it works perfectly.

double spaces
I write a lot in InDesign because i layout in the same time. When writing an rewriting there is often a problem with double spaces since you change and move text. The software tells you when words are used twice but not spaces. That would be of great help because they are difficult to recognice!

Can't select gradients from swatches
Since installing the new InDesign 2021, I'm not able to apply my colour swatches to the gradient bar. When I click on a colour swatch, it changes the main fill rather than the gradient colour.
This was working before the update.
3 votesTo apply a swatch to one of the gradient stops, you have to hold down the Alt key and then click on a Swatch in the Swatches panel. Clicking directly on any of the swatches changes the fill color of the object to the Swatch color instead of changing the color of the gradient stop.
Please confirm the above in the previous release as well as InDesign 2021.—

Hide Frame Edges Keyboard Shortcut is Not Working
Mac OS Catalina 10.15.6
Adobe InDesign 15.1.2
Expected result: The keyboard shortcut (Control + Command + H) is supposed to show and hide frame edges.
Actual result: The keyboard shortcut does not work. I've tried quitting InDesign and restarting. I've tried shutting down my Macbook and restarting. The keyboard shortcut still does not work.2 votes -
Since I am using Mac PC with M1 chip I can not get any PDF done even my InDD version is 16.1
Does anyone has any idea WHY?

Print InDesign
Develop some way for the printer settings to be put in order. I work with 18 HP 9050 printers, both with the same drive and configuration, but in InDesign they get jammed. Example:
Printer 1 (Standard)
Printer 5
Printer 16
Printer 3
Printer 8
Printer 2

Overprint Preview switches off when viewing Story Editor
I view the InDesign file in Overprint Preview.
I then need to check some text that isn't quite visible on the page.
Select the text frame and view it in Story Editor so I can ensure it matches what was supplied.

Changing language setting of paragraph text causes turnovers to change
Indesign Version 16.1 Windows 10 Home 64-bit
Given some random body text, the default language setting was English: USA, if I want to change this to any other language like English: UK (for spell checking reasons) it causes the turnovers of certain paragraphs to change.
Different fonts do the same thing, I primarily tested on a non-type 1 version of Melior and Helvetica but also tried some Adobe Fonts. However, different language settings cause different bits of text to change their turnover, ergo English: USA has different turnovers to English: USA Legal.

Dialog Boxes Missing
Common dialog boxes are not appearing normally on macOS. The dialog boxes include: missing/updated links as a document is open, Export PDF flows, Open, Save As. The boxes seem to activate in the incorrect space, or don't appear unless focus is given to another app by switching and then switching back to InDesign.

Drag-Duplicating using Alt/Opt key does not work if key is pressed after dragging
InDesign 2020 OPTION Duplicate is now broken, just like Photoshop has always been.
Don't make me commit to the duplicate before moving an item.
Sometimes I'll move a box, then realize I intended to duplicate it, so then I'll press OPTION... now I have to commit to it FIRST.
Fix this and stop breaking things!

Please update to this latest version of InDesign using Creative Cloud Desktop Application to get the fix.

Using ID 15.0.3
Using embed code on my protfolio page.
Videos cause rescaling of the page, videos are 1280x720 mp4s and have not been scaled on their pages
Videos also do not play on page load, you must click play on them.
None of these issues are present when using chrome.

"Shin Dot" and "sin Dot" does not work
On Mac, InDesign version 15.1.1 - typing the Unicode character "Shin Dot" and "sin Dot" does not work with the keyboard, only with the glyphs panel

Underline disappears when paragraph shading is used
I have a paragraph style for text that needs shading and a character style for text with a hyperlink. The underline disappeares when shading is used. This happens when the height of the shading of the next used paragraph style is touching the underline in the previous paragraph.
The text remains on top so I would expect that the underline (which is part of the text, in my opinion) should also stay on top.
Strikethrough is not being affected in this way so I use this as a workaround.Latest version of InDesign…

cannot select footnote with mouse
Sometimes, when entering multiple footnotes, I can't select the bottom or next-to-bottom ones with the mouse, as shown in the jpg I just uploaded. File shown in the screenshot also uploaded to my FTP site at http://www.conovers.org/ftp/AppSAR-1-Survival.indd, page 80 is where the problem is. Thank you.

Suddenly my document reverts to an earlier version
Ever since I updated Adobe InDesign to version 15.0.1, my current document suddenly reverts to a state from several minutes prior. All of my recent changes are gone, up to ten minutes, and they are not even available under Edit > Redo.
I've started saving more often now. Recently, this problem happened again. It suddenly went back to an earlier state than I had last saved, so I closed without saving, reopened, and the file was exactly in the state I expected, which was a LATER state than my document had reverted itself to (thank goodness), but not where I…

Catastrophic loss of index data
Yesterday I laboriously created an index of a 60-page document. Today, half of the index entries are gone. And the IDML backup I made of the file shows all index entries as "PN," which, of course, is totally incorrect.
It appears that the file lost all index entries after page 40, yet I know they were there yesterday, since I entered them laboriously for hours on end.

Spell Checker from time to time switches from checking a story to checking the entire document. This is a pain when I'm working in a large document with hundreds of stories. Is there a way to make Spell Checker default to checking story?

Emailing a document video won't go away
Opening a saved document and a 'helpful tip' video clip about emailing a document is stuck in the middle of the screen and won't close or go away, can't click on it and nothing works to get rid of it.
