Underlining out of position when text in a table cell uses a World-Ready composer
When the text in a table cell uses a World-Ready composer and is underlined, the underlining in the last line is out of position. The invisible end-of-cell mark is underlined, but the first character in the line is only partially underlined. The workaround I've been using is to add a nonjoiner character at the beginning of the line. Doing so shifts the underlining into the correct position.

Changing the transparency blend space between CMYK and RGB is not changing the Black swatch to RGB, and vice versa

BUG: nothing shows when first opening a file until you click on the page
Newer small bug but updates have not fixed this. When opening a file, especially a placed indd file inside a indd file, the page is blank until you click on the page. Not a huge issue but very strange as some may just sit there and wait without clicking.

Menu bar gets stuck - Indesign on M1 Pro mac
On a regular basis the pull down menus in Indesign will stop reacting properly: Clicking menu item will select the topic (screenshot 1), but not pull down the menu. A second click AND hold will pull down the menu, but all the sub-menus remain unavailable, they will not pull out. The issue is persisent: Restarting Indesign does not fix it once it starts occuring, but restarting the computer will fix it. The issue may be OS related, but it only occurs in Indesign, and only on my M1 Pro computer, not my older Intel mac.

Spinning Beach Ball appears every time I try to highlight text
- InDesign 18.0
- Seems just clicking with the Text Tool gets a spinning ball. Even worse if I try to highlight after clicking. 30-60 second wait. 3, Expect to highlight text as in the past.
- Once the ball stops spinning, maybe one character has been highlighted.
Troubleshooting steps:
Tried resetting preferences. No change.
Checked for corrupted fonts and removed. No change. (I'm using fonts from TypeKit, which don't appear to be installed in FontBook.)
Uninstalled InDesign. Shut down computer. Reinstalled InDesign.
Checked for corrupted file. (Saved copy. No change. Saved to imdl. No change.)

Cannot place .xlsx spreasheet
InDesign 18.2.1
MacOS Ventura 13.2.1Attempting to place an .xlsx spreadsheet goes no where - freezes about 3/4 of the way through process.
(left for longer than 10 minutes, nothing changed, still stuck at same point).If I export the .xlsx from Numbers it won't place at all (get the error 'Cannot place this file') (original file was made with Microsoft and supplied to me).
I have 'Create Links When Placing Text and Spreadsheet Files' enabled, as well as 'Show import options'.

Variable type not working correctly in EPUB Interactivity Preview
Using Source Sans Pro, my type renders correctly in the EPUB Interactivity Preview panel. But using Source Sans Variable it does not render correctly (weight and spacing off).

Fit spread in window view only works 10% of the time. Please fix issue. I just updated InDesign to 17.4 and no fix.

Paragraph panel very slow to open
InDesign v. 18.0 / working on Macbook Pro, macOS Ventura 13.0.1
Help! When I click on the Paragraph tools panel, it takes about 3 seconds for it to open. Other panels (characters, styles, swatches, etc.) open immediately.
This is a new issue with this version of InDesign. Is there something I can do to fix this?

matchPreviewBackgroundToThemeColor resets pasteboardMargins to [0,0]
In a script, app.activeDocument.pasteboardPreferences.matchPreviewBackgroundToThemeColor to 1 causes app.activeDocument.pasteboardPreferences.pasteboardMargins to reset to [0,0].
Furthermore, setting the pasteboardMargins doesn't work after setting app.activeDocument.pasteboardPreferences.matchPreviewBackgroundToThemeColor to 1.
(While matchPreviewBackgroundToThemeColor is set to 0 everything works fine.)

Numeric pad Key "3" not working when specific char style is present
I have the same issue with Num pad Key "3" and I have narrowed it down to one specific character style. When this style is present in a document, then Num pad 3 is not working. I have an indesign file with nothing else inside other than this character style but it is not accepted for upload.

Opening documents as tabs cannot be deactivated
Always open documents as tabs even if you have not selected this in the settings under User interface -> Open documents as tabs. I need different window sizes and find tabs impractical.

Text mode always open in a tab
Text mode CMD-Y always opens in a tab and thus reduces the size of all other open windows. Text mode becomes almost unusable.

Al exportar un documento de Indesign con la tipografía Chaparral Pro Light, se produce un fallo que hace que la letra "f" seguida de la "i", genere un carácter comilla " ´ ".

Menu et fonctions invisibles
Lorsque je clique sur les fonctions d'InDesign dans le menu, les panneaux sont invisibles. Je ne les vois pas mais quand je clique plus bas, ça clique sur les options du panneaux.
Même problème pour le click droit, rien ne s'affiche mais quand je descend et clique là où devrait apparaitre le menu, ça clique sur les fonctions.C'est très handicapant, je ne peux pas travailler.

EPUB Export with JPG images causes a validation error for the cover image due to an **already identified** InDesign bug
When you Export an EPUB with JPG images, it always causes a file type validation error for the cover image.
I have already identified the bug in InDesign. Instead of turning the cover art into an actual .jpg format, InDesign instead just rasterizes the first page of the book as a .png and changes the extension name of a .png file to .jpg without actually being the correct file format.
Please fix this.

Table of Contents Entry Character Styles
Table of contents entries (subheading styles in chapters) has a character style applied to it. When I generate TOC, the character styles and anchor markers if any also shows up in generated Table Of Contents. There should be an option to bypass the anchor markers and Character styles. Instead there should be an option given to add a new char style to the TOC entries, like there is for page no and between entry and page no.
In attached file the underline is getting generated everytime I update the TOC. I have to manually remove the underline. Neither GREP style…5 votes -
No ligature in Adode Devanagari font
We wright sanskrit text in Adobe Devanagari font, but no ligatures appears in Indesign (last version at 21/03/2023 : 18.2.1).
