Indesign crashing issues
Version of Adobe InDesign: 18.2.1, 18.1
Yesterday and also today I am facing multiple crashes. I had 3 files open, when I opened 3rd file & wanting to copy & paste photos into the other file problem started. Indesign started to load something, it got stucked for a few minutes & then crashed. Pictures which I wanted to copy had about 150MB. Attached I am sending also details about my OS & report I got afterwards.1 vote -

Reproducable crash in InDesign when working in split layout view.
1) move to split layout view
2) copy text from right window
3) Ctrl V in left window
4) Ctrl Z to undo
5) Ctrl-Shift V to paste without formatting
6) crash (the expected result here obviously being InDesign not crashing but pasting the text without formatting).Filed multiple reports from these crashes.

Sudden Crash
Just had a first - highlighting text in a table to edit it and without any warning the app shut down - Automatic Recovery worked but it has happened three times now. First time I was in View Bleed mode (never been a problem before) and then twice in normal view mode

Color Picker causes InDesign to Crash
Every time I try to use the eyedrop Color Picker tool in InDesign it causes InDesign to crash and close. It will not allow me to drag the eyedropper to pick up a color, and if I try to drag the eyedropper it makes the color box freeze to where I cannot click "Ok" or "Cancel" and I need to press the "Esc" button on my keyboard to get out of the color box. Page Tool 'Use Spacing' does not affect pages, then crashes
As you can see from the screenshot, the use spacing option does not affect pages at all. I've got about 39mm of space between each page, tried typing 5mm and they don't move, even though it displays as 5mm.
No matter how many pages are selected with the Page Tool option, nothing changes.
Previously had a problem with the page align tool, but managed to fix it by resetting Indesign Preferences.
This didn't fix the 'Use Spacing' option though, and after a few times of typing various numbers into the box, it crashes.
Any patches to help with this?

template design can not be previewed
All of the template designs are coming up blank even when selecting preview. I am new to InDesign and this simple thing is disappointing

InDesign 18.1 x64 crashes depending on AppliedLanguage
InDesign 18.1 x64 will open the de.idml file from the archive attached below* but crashes when trying to open cs.idml. The only difference between these two files is a single AppliedLanguage attribute set in Styles.xml.
Please look into why this happens with only one of them (or if both files are considered incorrect, let us know why).
*What I have attached is a .zip archive renamed to .txt. Please rename it back and extract the two files I've mentioned. Your form did not allow me to upload neither .idml nor .zip files.

versions 18 and 17, when using the hyperlinks (adding new, editing old) the program crashes and closes. Makes Inde sign very hard to use.

[BUG] Export file to remote server cause Indesign & Finder crash
Indesign 18.1 on Ventura 13.0
If I export a file (PDF, JPG, ...) on remote location and then click on it in finder, InDesign and Finder crashes and I must restart computer.
But if I export to local location, everything works fine.So now I must export local and then copy exported file to our remote share server. :(

Indesign crashes when pressing the hot keys for copy

Macbook Pro (16 Inch, 2021)
Chip Apple M1 MaxBrand new Macbook Pro, brand new installation of Indesign. It crashes every time I press hotkeys for copy. When it re-opens it crashes again. Everything is delayed and slow when I reopen, so I save, close Indesign and re-open. I get a good 5-10 minute run and it crashes again. Crashed 10 times today.

Display Performance view high quality crashing
When viewing an indesign document when the Display performance is set to "High Quality"indesign often crashes. Even when it's just a single object.

InDesign crashes/freezes on Quit
When quitting from MacOS Dock (right-mouse click on the icon), Indesign crashes like most of the time.
5 votesThere are many internal as well as external factors that can cause the InDesign application to crash/freeze/hang.
We would recommend you to upgrade to latest version as it is more robust.

InDesign crashes when deleting pages from multiple files
This doesn't happen on every single file, but it happens probably once a week or so. I will need to delete anywhere from a couple pages to a couple hundred pages in an InDesign file, and when I try to delete those pages, InDesign will freeze and crash.
The option in Preferences to add pages to the end of the Story Editor is not checked on, so that isn't causing it.

InDesign 2023 crashes when opening older InDesign files
Can't open older version files in InDesign 2023. Using Microsoft Office 2016 64-Bit Edition (yes, I know we're really behind in our operating system). It looks like it's going to open the file, and then it crashes InDesign. Have tried restarting, re-installing InDesign and no go. Have even tried saving the old file as an IDML mark-up file and it still won't open.

InDesign 2023 crashing when using links panel
Though it rights itself occasionally, this happens only when I use the links panel. I am having to cmd-D to import, but that is adding lots of time I don't have.
Restarts of both InDesign and my latest model MacBook Pro are not fixing this.
What can I do?

delete text crash
Opened and made a copy (Save As) of an existing doc in ID 17.4, moved to ID 18 when it became available. Replaced about 2/3 of the existing material with new text or images. Found one specific text box that crashed when I tried to delete it. Tried deleting the text in the box, another crash. Tried deleting text in chunks, and got down to just one letter that was causing the crash.

Application crashes/closes without submitting error log when trying to re-link or replace a file via drag and drop
I am using the most recent version of indesign (17.4).
When I try to re link a file (a PSD in this instance) or to use drag and drop to change the file to something else, the application completely shuts.
It does not produce an error log and I have even tried regedit to get it to gather a crash dump but no joy.
I have tried to revert to a previous instance of InDesign but this does not fix the issue either.

InDesign 2022 crashing when pasting or importing MS Word text.
Running Windows 11, I can't import text from Microsoft Word. Even by copying the texto on Word and pasting onto InDesign, the app crashes over and over and over again. I just can't work.

InDesign crashes after making changes to the document after exporting to pdf
InDesign exports to PDF fine. But after looking the pdf over, I usually want to make changes. Making any more than about five changes to an InDesign document after exporting it to PDF will make InDesign crash, regardless of what those changes are. It's happening on every single document since the latest update.
