1. Fast save is taking 37 seconds

   I imported a Word file that has a lot of linked footnotes into InDesign 2018. Spread by spread, I touch each paragraph to fix overrides. There is no reflow of text when I do this step. Yet when I do a plain "save" before going to the next spread, InDesign is taking 37 seconds to save. 37 seconds of watching the rainbow spin. InDesign is acting like it is reflowing every page in the background as it quick saves. That should not be necessary. The last time I experienced this type of slowness was back in the PageMaker days. The book is over 300 pages. 37 seconds a spread really adds up.

2. page not displayed

   I am editing a long document (over 300 pages). Several non-consecutive spreads are displaying blank. When I change screen mode from normal to preview, it displays the content correctly. The same happens if I change Display Performance prom Typical to either Fast display or High Quality Display.
   Also selecting all the text (ctrl+A) takes more than 5 seconds. The same operation in MS Word is instant.

4. LAYERS

   Hi, dragging objects to another layer with the small rectangle in the layerpanel is not secure... it seems that the hotspot or trigger is out of range..
   When i click-drag at the left-side of the filled rectangle it works sometimes but is not easy way to order objects like before.

5. Button area changes size when adding object that only appears on rollover

   Hello!
   I am having issues with buttons, rendering my project entirely unusable.

   When creating buttons on a map:
   - Each button is a building on the map.
   - When you rollover the building with your mouse, a box appears that gives more information about the building.

   To accomplish this, I create the button, set it to change on rollover, and drag my additional graphic into the rollover state for that button on the layers panel.

   The issue I'm having is that instead of the overall button size staying the same, once I add that additional graphic in the rollover, the size of the button increases to include the graphic that only displays on rollover.

   As there are many buttons on my map, this creates unwanted overlap between the buttons, making it entirely unusable.

   How do I get the size of the button to stay the same, yet still display an additional graphic on rollover? I used to be able to do this, but CC2018 won't allow this functionality.

   I am using CC2018, 13.0.1 x64
   Running on Microsoft Surface Pro 4

   In the attached screenshots, every yellow building is a button.
   I have it set to change to blue on rollover, and display the information about the building.

6. high sierra and Creative Suite

   I discovered an interesting bug concerning the Adobe CC suite and the HighSierra OS. Let me explain :
   I'm using a LaCie Firewire 800 external hard drive on which I'm recording completed jobs.
   Regularly, but not always, when using the InDesign or PhotoShop drop-down menu, the cursor takes the form of the multi-color wheel and blocks any action until I force the external hard drive to eject.

7. XML tagging with GREP

   GREP is a great tool, but when we use GREP to highlight more than one character style in a paragraph there is an issue with the XML tagging tool.

   Only the first GREP expression applies a character style that can be automatically tagged by character style. All further GREP expressions apply the character style but don't then go on to automatically tag by character style.

   Currently we have to work around it with scripting, but it is a very strange bug to have.

8. InDesign performance issue: New document window gives blank screen

   Latest version of InDesign supplied by Creative Cloud installer on 64-bit Windows 10 PC.

   Steps to reproduce:

10. paragraph styles panel

    InDesign CC
    Expected: Paragraph Styles Panel opens to a list of my styles
    Actual: Panel opens and the list cannot be seen until the panel is widened to 3x its normal size.

    The panel appears to be split into two columns with the styles in the left column. When the panel is narrowered (ie normal size), the styles column collapses and the styles list cannot be seen. The only way to access the styles list is to enlarge the width of the panel to about 3x its normal size. Please see the attached image showing the action of the styles column as the panel is stretched from a normal size to a larger width.

    I've been an InDesign user for 10+ years and I've never experienced the styles panel having more than one column. I suspect this may be a bug in the latest upgrade.

11. Recent files panel

    the link to the files in the Home panel is broken or inoperative.
    If I close a job under Ind (cc2018- 13.0.1), it is not possible to return to it, even immediately afterwards. I didn't move the file from his folder, but Ind can't find it.

    I tried to put "0" in the number of files in the preferences, then to quit Ind, then to reopen Ind, to put "1" file in preference and to reopen this same file by the browser, without success.

13. Shortcuts and keyboard keys stop working.

    CC2018, Windows 10, latest update as of 01/18/18, x64 system with 12GB RAM. I often have to close and reopen documents or InDesign itself for shortcuts and some keys to work. There does not seem to be a common cause or specific file(s) that sets it off and it may or may not happen to all open documents if more than one is open. Generally closing the document and reopening it helps, but there have been times where I have to restart the program for anything to work. The issue includes any shortcuts and sometimes keys such as the arrow keys when trying to edge a graphic or text box over. Generally, I am able to type in the file name if I am trying to save my work before I close the program, but there have been times that my keyboard is disabled there as well and I have to save over what I have open, rely on the auto-backup file, or duplicate the file in Explorer and rename it so I don't lose the original file. This has not been an issue in any other programs except InDesign and has only been in the past few weeks. The crashing since the last update has subsided, but this issue has not. I would love to know how to fix this.

14. [Indesign CS6-CC 2018][BUG] Wrong objects in array after moving page item to layer using Javascript

    When running a script to process page items stored in a custom array and after moving a page item to another layer, the array contents changes. Objects are removed and other objects which where not put in the array are suddenly located inside the array.

17. images pixelated when rotated

    When I place an image into InDesign it imports high res, but when the image is rotated, it becomes severely pixelated. Even when the image rotation is a small degree - just a few degrees even. The image preview becomes distorted severly and changes distortion with every degree of rotation. I should mention that I am a professional graphic designer with over 20 years of experience so I have tried all of the obvious fixes - switched view to "overprint preview", set display performance to "High Quality", deleted preferences.. I have done everything imaginable. Running a machine with 3 GB of RAM so should be fine there... contacted Adobe Customer Support and he could not resolve the issue. Says that he tried it on his end (also with high res images) and he is experiencing the same issue. Said that it is to be expected from the software. We aren't talking about a mild amount of pixelation or distortion here. As soon as you rotate, it gets REAL ugly REAL quick lol. I just refuse to believe that InDesign is that poor at image previewing. There has to be another solution to this. Example shown here is a scanned image, 720ppi - look at the lines under the logo at the top. And this is a flattened JPEG. HELP!!!! I can't be the only one experiencing this.

18. Cursor vanishes when over frames

    My cursor is vanishing in InDesign when I move it over a frame (or object inside a frame). It is almost like it is underneath or behind the frame/object.

19. Problems saving Indesign CC 2018 files directly onto a server

    I have an issue saving Indesign CC 2018 files onto our server.

    I have attached two examples of the error messages we get.

    The only way we can work is to save the Indesign file, on to the Desktop and then moving over manually.

    We have installed the latest version of Indesign CC 2018 and MacOS High Sierra (Version 10.13.2).

    Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

20. Slow lag time typing and generating raster image

    I have not had this problem before but there is about a 2 second lag on everything from typing to panning around. I have aerial images via PDFs linked into the file (5 of them) and I'm placing leaders and text on top. The document is only 5 pages and it's very frustrating-please help!
