1. Inconsistent unit names in Czech version

   The "points" are called "body" in the Czech langauge., the short version is "b". Unfortunately Adobe CC apps are very inconsistent and you can find "b" (InDesign, Photoshop), "b." (InDesign) or even not translated "pt" (Illustrator).

   Please make it consistent. If you can't change it in all Adobe apps, at least make it "b" in InDesign. (Adobe CS 6 is correct, line thickness is represented as "b" while CC displays "b.".

2. FONT ISSUE IN ADOBE INDESIGN CC 2014

3. ID 13.1 – no longer accepts mp4 media format?

   InDesign 13.1

   EXISTING mp4s placed in ID file (for viewing in exported Interactive PDF) no longer work (link not found (yellow triangle), and then when manually re-linked, link shows error in palette (red circle question mark).

   Trying to place NEW mp4s, and although file(s) can be found, nothing is placed. Have googled and found nothing.

   Updates to CC appear to have happened overnight, and I didn't have any issues last week.

4. Unable to create text anchor from text with an apostrophe in it.

   Anytime I create a text anchor out of a piece of copy with an apostrophe in it (ex. What's New) and use it as the destination for a button or hyperlink, the interactive PDF does not redirect to the anchor. My workaround has been to select everything but the word with the apostrophe in it, but I would love to see this fixed in the next version.

5. Alt text transposition issue with book files

   I'm using a book file to organize a number of interactive forms.

   When I export out the forms as interactive PDFs, the alt text that was designated in the "button and forms" panel for that form field sometimes gets switched out for alt text that is used in another form if the fields share the same name. This happens on export whether I use the"Export book to PDF" option in the book panel or I use the "File" option export (ctrl+E keyboard shortcut).

   The alt text remains correct in the InDesign file and only gets switched out upon export.

   For interactive text fields, I use the "description" field in the "Buttons and Forms" panel rather than using "object export options" alt text panel (I leave that as the default: "from structure".

   This workflow had worked in the past: I had used a book file with the forms in a previous iteration about 1 year ago with no issues.

   I'm using Adobe CC 2018 on Windows 10 Enterprise 2016.

6. Mistake in Dutch Tool Hints

   In the Dutch version of Indesign, the Tool Hints say that Ctrl+drag copies the item while dragging. This should be Alt+drag.

7. Converting text cell to graphic cell

   If you convert a graphic cell to a text cell the vertical justification gets locked, cell appears to be anchored and is unable to be converted back to a graphic cell.

   1) Create table
   2) Select cell > context menu > convert cell to graphic cell
   3) Select cell/object > convert to text cell
   4) Unable to convert back to graphic cell or adjust vertical justification within cell (options greyed out) and anchor symbol on top right of frame

10. mergeRecords() breaks InDesign Server CC 2018

    Posting as bug for the following reasons:
    1) Nobody seems to know why it's happening
    2) The script executes successfully with InDesign Desktop, but Server crashes (not just an error, full on stops).
    4) It's the only method that crashes InDesign Server I've found. I'm able to perform frame creation, image placement, find / replace, export PDF, etc... which leads me to conclude it's not an issue with my installation.
    3) Tested on 3 different computers

    The following .jsx will crash InDesign Server (replace paths with any of your own merging document files):

    InDesign Server will crash with the following error from the Server:
    Tue Sep 18 09:48:21 2018 INFO [javascript] Executing Script
    ./InDesignServer: line 13: 30363 Segmentation fault: 11 "$installed_name" "$@"

    The error report from the Terminal window that launched sampleclient responds with:
    Error -1 fault: SOAP-ENV:Client [no subcode]
    "End of file or no input: Operation interrupted or timed out"
    Detail: [no detail]

    The jsx code is checking if all of the files do in fact exist, and it passes those checks. I've since been able to work around this using doc.dataMergeProperties.exportFile(). However I can see this being an issue if instead of a PDF, I needed .INDD files to be created from a merge.

11. change of page dimensions won't resize alternate layout

    We have released an update for InDesign CC2019 (v 14.0.1) which contains fixes for some key issues. If you are not already on 14.0.1 (build 209), then we recommend you to update to latest version.

    • Error snapshot or video recording of the issue.
    • Is the issue related to a specific document(s)/asset(s)? If yes, can you please share the document(s)/asset(s) with us? Please package the entire document(To package the document, Go to File → Package)

14. Placed illustrator .ai color dodge layers in Indesign don't display/print correctly

    Placing .ai stock files which have soft 'color dodge' layer highlights display and print as hard masks in Indesign. The solution I've found is re-saving the file as an EPS. Attached is a sample image (.ai on left, .eps on right).

    I am having text problems when regular text is near an image and the text which is within the boundary box of the image then text prints out bold. It does not appear bold on screen and the font is definetly regular but ive done some test and where the boudnary image box over hangs into text it then prints out bold mid word or wherever the image boudnary box is. This happens on psd images which have been deppetched and have no background.

17. Menus and dialog boxes are off

    Using Windows 10, menus are off by 1. For example when hovering "Edit" the menu for "File" displays, Layout displays Edit, and so on.

    Also when clicking create new document, the dialog is blown up and does not work other than the "X" to close out.

18. InDesign CS6 Hangs with customized plug-ins

    Hello,
    Our company develops InDesign plug-ins as our product. Now we have a hanging problem when dealing with one InDesign document. The problem happens on both Windows and macOS.
    According to the log collected on Mac, InDesign CS6 hangs at com.adobe.InDesign.Text. We cannot find a way to fix it so far. This problem stopped us to support our customers.

    Could you please have a check why the hanging happens?

    We made a simple document to reproduce the problem. The plug-ins inside "InDesign-CS6-Windows-Plugins" are used to make InDesign CS6 open the document without crash.
    The detail steps are:
    1. On Windows, place "InDesign-CS6-Windows-Plugins" under <Adobe InDesign CS6>/Plug-Ins/
    2. Launch Adobe InDesign CS6 and open document CS6.indd
    3. Click OK to continue if it prompts for missing plug-ins
    4. Navigate to page 1, which contains a large text frame
    5. Using Type tool to put cursor inside the begining of the frame
    6. Click Ctrl+A to select all contents
    7. Try to set the font size (or set font name) on menu bar.
    8. InDesign hangs.

    The attached zip file contains the plug-ins, indd file and log files.

20. Can not make a single change to the paragraph style options

    I can not make a single change to the paragraph style options or character style options. The only change it allows me to make is the font family only ONCE. This has been going on for about 2 months and can not fix it. PLEASE HELP. I can't set up a single style. It's Driving me NUTS.
