1. Cross-check links used on both ways

   Hi, the idea is to be able to check the links that a certain file (let's call file A) is being linked to.

   The file A can be used as a link on files 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.... so when I open file 1 and go to the links panels I can see my file A listed there. Right? But not the other way around, such as we can't see the files (1,2,3...) in which that one file (file A) is linked to unless we go one by one (1,2,3...). Would be great to have a link to and linked at panel, to see it both ways.

2. Grid Page View

   An option to view the pages within a single document in a grid layout, rather than just one continuous column of pages one below the other. It would be a valuable tool for designers that wish to view a lot of their pages at once, rather than having to continuously scroll up & down the many pages of an InDesign document.

3. Adjust Frame Edges From Anypoint ...Not Just Middle of The Edge

   I'd like to be able to adjust frame edges from any point on the edge. This would work much like the slice select tool in Photoshop.

   Specifically, this would be useful to edit frames where you're zoomed in and the middle of the edge isn't near the content you're trying to crop with the frame.

4. Keep saved video attributes when opening packaged file and relinking media

   I am working on documents that are published online, with video and sound features. If a file is packaged and sent to other members of a team, upon opening the Indesign file, you are required to relink all media in the Links folder. However, some features are then lost, like the Poster frame settings for Video files (set in the Media panel).
   It would also be useful to be able to have the option to have sound on or off when publishing online, without having to do this in another application.

5. dimensions lines, lines to show size between points

   It would be nice nice to have a line tool or a text box that you can link to a line that shows the height or width of a line so you can create easy dimensions lines for products as we oftun need to provide dimentions and sometime they change so you need to change the text box value each time as well.

6. Content to Frame with Live Typography

   If there is a fit to frame to content tool. We should get a fit content to frame tool that works with live typography.

   I am not sure if this is a feature or not. I am also about to get more into creative coding so I would really appreciate it if you could get back to me with an explanation as to how you automate a feature like that with code.

7. Integration of AI Text Generator in Adobe InDesign

   If InDesign had an integrated AI text generator, it would be wonderful. Having the ability to correct texts, check spelling and grammar, rewrite something that doesn't sound right, and so, would be a powerful tool for those of us working in editorial design. I think this feature is a no-brainer for a program like InDesign, but since Adobe doesn't have a text generator (that I know), we haven't seen it yet. Dreaming is free! I believe it's an incredible function, and it would be fantastic to have it in the future. Fingers crossed!

8. Create paragraph style from manual formatting and apply to all text with the same formatting

   A common task is converting manual text formatting to a paragraph style. It would be great if there were a way to do this automatically.

   For example, suppose I was given a LONG document in which Helvetica 12pt text is the body style, but no actual paragraph style exists for this—all the formatting is manual.

   The current best way to solve this problem is to perform a Find/Change operation for all text formatted as Helvetica 12pt and replace it with my paragraph style for "body text." This works but is tedious, especially when there are many styles in the document, and all the formatting options have to be manually selected.

   It would be much better if there were an option, presumably in the paragraph styles panel menu, to automatically:

   1. Create a new paragraph style based on the formatting of the selected text
   2. Search the document for all text formatted in the same way
   3. Apply the paragraph style to each of those paragraphs

   A real time-saver!

   Would be ideal if this feature could detect character style exceptions (variations in italics, color, weight) and extract/apply those as well.

9. Retained overwrites

   While doing heavy make-up of book texts I often need to get in a line or to space out a line. Doing this without having countless paragraph overrides (with the danger that by clicking "clear override" or applying a script everything would be lost) the only possibility so far is to make numerous paragraph copies, e.g., "body", "body+5", "body+10", "body-5" etc.
   A possible solution could be to have the paragraph style definition with some kind of "ranges", maybe "Tracking: 0 - +30" with a default value "0". And the actual value could be selected in a panel. Hopefully someone has a better idea how to implement this better.

10. Pdf with images folder paths links

    Sometimes we work on big catalogues with lots of images. And sometimes those images are located in various folders accross our servers and we cannot move them until the work is done.
    Lots of times my post production coworkers, to speed up the work, ask me the folder path of some images, and i need every time to open the catalogue, search the image and check the links panel to tell him the right folder path.

    I'm asking to put an option, when we create pdf's, to automatically insert the folder path over every image inside the pdf.

11. Allow for Custom location/settings of strokes on any shape.

    Like in tables or text boxes, I would like to see the Rectangle tool (or polygon, or multi-sided pen tool creation) to be able to choose which side has a Stroke (colour &, thickness, etc).

    I have a rectangle that I have cut one corner off of and want it to tuck into the corner of another rectangle. so I don't need the strokes to display for the bottom or side, but do for the top/ 45deg angle (right). Seems simple enough, but gets more when there are many sides to the shape... what's the limit you offer customization too? and what happens to the additional sides...?

12. Select multiple, discontinuous paragraphs

    When applying paragraph styles throughout a document, it is only possible to select multiple continuous paragraphs in one go. If I want to style all first level headings, for example, I have to click on each, apply the paragraph style and repeat and repeat and repeat... Often finding the appropriate style requires scrolling in the paragraph styles window. It would be very useful, and much quicker, to be able to select all headings and apply Head A (or whatever) in one click. This might be achieved by clicking in the paragraphs with a keyboard combination pressed or, as was done in Ventura, with a separate tool.

13. Cloning à la Illustrator Repeat or Symbol Tool for x-up Printing?

    I've quickly grown to love Illustrator's Repeat feature, especially the ability to edit any instance of the repeated object. A feature akin to this for InDesign, or a "Live Repeat"/"Clone" would be a massive improvement for x-up layout!

14. Traditional Book Focus

    I write long traditional books with hundreds of black and white text pages. Adobe's focus as a graphics company may be why it misses some important issues for people like me. Editing hundreds of pages of text and incorporating feedback is extremely difficult.

    To accomplish this I have to get the full layout correct with many chapters all in individual files and then create a PDF version of the book. of course, when viewed two up the pages don' align properly if I don't insert a blank page as the first page using DC. Simple fix, give me a proofing copy to eliminate this step.

    Second, when I get that edited pdf file back I have to put the two side by side and go through the entire book chapter file by chapter file and painstakingly match the feedback to the chapter. Of course, you only let me view my pages two up so I have to tediously use my mouse to move back and forth even on my 32 inch screen. Let me view my pages in editing mode, one at a time and scroll down just with the arrow keys.

    Better yet, build a proofing copy of the book where I see all elements of the book together at one time and allow me to make all edits there.

    Even better yet, interactively layer the PDF edits I receive in this proofing copy so I have everything I need right in one document view to make all the edits.

    You need to give me more power to work on the book as a book and stop limiting me to working file by file. I have lots of chapters, front matter, TOC, Glossary, appendix, marketing pages, etc. It is a massive pain to deal with each of these as an independent file with independent formatting, even if you have improved the syncing of styles and master pages. I need one book wide set of styles and master pages.

    Finally, to end my editing driven mad rant, built on the editing copy discussed above, give me a full index generating tool with the ability to build a master multi-book list of terms. The only thing worse than editing a 300 page book is building the index. Your concept of coding each instance of the word manually in a 300 page document isn't even doable at this scale.

15. Flatplan for magazines

    Adobe does not currently offer a tool for page imposition when creating a magazine.

    A magazine is produced from many documents, which are then compiled into a complete issue along with advertisements in PDF format.

    We urgently need a tool that allows us to view the entire magazine as a whole.

    Bridge could serve this purpose if it were able to display all pages from InDesign files and allow us to manipulate and move them as needed across the entire magazine.

    Adobe Bridge could then be able to send this magazine structure for export and instruct InDesign on the position of each page, so that it can adjust the page numbers accordingly.

16. Fix (shorten!) the display of keyboard shortcuts in paragraph, character, and object style panels

    In text style panels, there is a left column that shows keyboard shortcuts assigned to each style. See attached screenshot.

    This column is waaaay too wide. Keyboard shortcuts are written out as "Shift+Cmd+Num 0" when they should instead be written as "⇧⌘Num0"—using the STANDARD system notation for modifier keys.

    Having to use dropdown menu (and noting conspicuously absent quick key notation) is so tedious when you have to do this 100 times

19. Stroke cap and paragraph rule styles

    It would be incredibly useful to have the option for more control over the end cap in stroke styles/paragraph rules. For example, in Illustrator there is the option to use a softened end cap as opposed to a straight cut off, but InDesign only has a straight edge option, making it difficult to build an elegant line style without importing it as a graphic (this feature is sorely lacking in pursuits such as book design). The stock line styles feel garish or clunky and it would be oh-so-nice to be able to edit these or have more options to choose from. Please provide a more sophisticated panel for this.

20. Import images linked locally to creative cloud library from within any CC app

    Currently if I want to use a new asset that I've downloaded or saved to desktop the process looks like this:

    1. Navigate to CC desktop app
    2. Navigate to existing CC library or create a new one
    3. Drag and drop assets from desktop into library
    4. Go to InDesign (or whichever app)
    5. Navigate to appropriate library
    6. Drag asset from library to working document

    What I'd like is:

    1. Place item from desktop in document
    2. Select the asset in the Links panel
    3. Click "import to current library"
    4. Asset is imported directly to the library and the link is automatically updated to the library version of the asset

    Currently if I want to use a new asset that I've downloaded or saved to desktop the process looks like this:

    1. Navigate to CC desktop app
    2. Navigate to existing CC library or create a new one
