[InCopy] Open selected recent documents (open more than just one document)
Hello,
A new feature that allows the user to choose to open more than one InCopy document at once in the option 'File > Open Recent' would be very useful.I've posted this request last year (https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601021-adobe-indesign-feature-requests/suggestions/45136654-open-more-than-one-document-per-session-in-open), but nobody reached me.
It would be very useful to have this option in InCopy as I always work with chapters (usually 8) that are stored in different subfolders; that is, it is not possible to go to a single folder/directory, select the eight chapters that I will edit and open them whenever I need to edit these chapters (and I always need to have the 8 chapters open because I need to standardize terms, acronyms, etc. in all of them, saving time). Needless to mention, obviously I can't move the files I'm going to edit into the same/single folder as those files contain links to images and other details that prevent me from considering such a solution.
I'm an exclusive InCopy user (I'm a copyeditor, not a designer), so any alternatives (including opening/editing such files in InDesign or similar possible solutions) are out of the question. It is also worth mentioning that, as a professional copyeditor, I receive many books per month to be edited over the course of weeks (so that, over the course of days, when turning the computer off and on, I have to open each of the chapters one by one each time); so it's not a one-time problem.
I recognize that opening more than one file at once already demands a high computer/RAM processing, and opening 8 files/tabs may require a longer 'initialization', but an option that allows selecting, in 'Recent files', more than a file for them to be opened sequentially would be of great help.
Regards,

PDF Password Print (BUG and New Feature)
As suggested by @Abhishek Rao on Adobe community
I report here the problem and the new functionality...PDF Password (BUG and New Feature)
When I export a document to PDF from Indesign (or illustrator), I would need to password protect the Copy/Modification of the elements in my PDF, at the same time allow READING and PRINTING of that PDF document.
All this is currently ALLOWED BY "INDESIGN"! in PDF export.
When I create a PDF with these limitations, I open it in ACROBAT and I can SEE and PRINT IT.
When I try to MODIFY IT, Acrobat asks me for a PASSWORD.
ALL RIGHT.THE PROBLEM: Since most designers use PDFs to create not only digital products to download, view and print at home, but very often use PDFs to send their PDFs to external printing services (Digital printing or Typography).
The problem is that these Services often use INDESIGN/ILLUSTRATOR to layout and imposition documents (with a few pages), or more sophisticated Imposition Software.
This problem occurs when the PDF is imported into INDESIGN/ILLUSTRATOR for layout, the PDF is not imported if the password is not entered.
Given that the PDF has been inserted with the possibility of Viewing and Printing only, why is a simple import (from a linked PDF) not allowed???The password function at this point becomes useless for this purpose. I would like to protect the documents from being able to prevent the printers from "reusing" my contents (it often happens, bypassing the author of the creative content), but at the same time allow them to Print my document, since that is their job.
How to solve it? Is it possible to change this procedure? Or put a password only for printing and importing ??
It seems stupid, but in practice believe me this is the real useful function for that password.
Then if in other ways, software or things of various kinds it would be possible to bypass the password by decrypting it, (I don't know how it's done, but they tell me it would be possible), well that's another matter that doesn't apply to this request, but it's certainly something not for the common user, but for programmers who are experts in decryption.

Illustrator's color blindness proof setups available also in InDesign
t would be a big help for those of us who have to create accessible documents to have Illustrator's color blindness proof setups available also in InDesign.
Pushing a PDF to Illustrator to check this is an awkward workaround.

In Indesign interactive PDF buttons set link destination options for opening the url
In Indesign interactive PDF buttons set link destination options for opening the url
like blank page, self etc...just like in html is possible.
So when you view a interactive PDF online and you click on a link the destination opens in a new window or tab, just like you selected in Indesign. And not only in the window you are viewing.

CC library items - update placed instances after editing library item
This applies to elements created within InDesign and then added to CC Libary.
If I place instances of the library item into an InDesign document, those instances are not updated if I edit the library item.
In other words it would be helpful if placed library items would update as they do with the old version of InDesign Library.18 votes -

Edit multiple paragraph styles at the same time
When we have changes in layouts or designs it is a pain to edit all the paragraph styles individually. Please make it possible to edit them all at once.
Example: 10 paragraph styles in one doc all with the same font. Customer wants to change the font.

InCopy should have a mobile app
Microsoft word has an app for android which can be used to write ideas while away from the computer and then open up the same file on the desktop for editing. InCopy should have the same functionality with a mobile app that can open or create an icml file to type a story. It wouldn't require any editing, only the bare bones so ideas don't get forgotten.

Conditional colours for chapters
When we work with chapters and styles, sometimes we have a different thematic colour by chapter. It would be very interesting to define one or several conditional chapter colours for a section. We define the "Conditional chapter colour" in styles and depending on the page, these colours change. So, there is no need to create multiple styles with same parameters but different colours within the document or there is no need to split the document to play with these different parameters. Everything is in the same document and it is easier if we need to change the colour palette.
Many thanks.

Customizing Export Options for Images
If an epub is exported with the “Use Existing Image for Graphic Object” option selected, crop information is not maintained on any of the exported images. If you select "Preserve Appearance from Layout", the crop is maintained, but the images are downsampled quite extensively.
There should be a way to export the images in their original resolution while also preserving the crop information, or at least having more customizable image export settings.

No repeat option wanted for headers and footers in table options
When you've got headers and footers in tables, there is no way to prevent them from repeating at all.
There are currently three options in InDesign Table Options:
1. Every Text Column
2. Once per Frame
3. Once per PageI'd like to see an option for "NONE" or "NO REPEAT".
I can also think of "Once per Spread" as a valid setting, but NONE is the most important, since the current solution is to convert the headers to body rows, and that destroys the information about the header rows actually being headers.

Have user Templates available on the splash screen/new document page
Creating templates greatly enhances document workflow creation. 2 things would make that even better:
Make the templates available on the splash screen/new document dialog - possibly under the saved tab.
Create a workflow that would allow for documents created from a template to update if the template is changed.18 votes -
List of all buttons in a file
We regularly have to create quite complex interactive PDFs with many buttons. It would be great to have a view like the Links panel that displays all of the buttons in a document, with where they go and which page they are on with a link to jump to that button (again like the Links panel).

Please add a way within a book file to update all document's tables-of-contents.
Please add a way within a book file to update all document's tables-of-contents.
Right now, when I make a change to one document that changes page numbering, I must manually go update the TOC of every document in the book individually. This feature could easily be added to the same "Update Numbering" command within a book document.

Table borders when a table runs over more than one page
When a table runs over more than one page, the border at the bottom of the table is missing on every page except the last.
You have to make a cellformat to correct this.
It causes errors and doble work if you forget to remove the cellformat when the pageflow with the table changes.

Image frame option 'fit to bleed'
I'd like to have option 'fit to bleed' next to 'fit to frame' etc. options. So I wouldn't need to move graphic frame corners manually to bleed area.
Not a major issue, but a little improvement :)

InDesign needs language support for Burmese (Myanmar).
InDesign needs language support for Burmese (Myanmar). The corporation I am with is doing a lot of translation currently from English to Burmese and InDesign cannot render the characters correctly. We would also be happy to help fund getting this done as well as provide access to our Burmese translation team. No one wants to type set books and manuals in Microsoft Word...
18 votesInDesign 2020 includes a new text engine to support five new South East Asian languages: Thai, Burmese, Lao, Khmer, and Sinhala.
Your documents can now include text composed in these languages.
Hope you find this new feature useful in your work. We’re marking this “Feature Request” as Completed.

Have InDesign remember the size of its application window from last time used
Have InDesign remember the size of its application window from when it was last used and have it open in that same size the next time used. Illustrator and Photoshop already do this...
