1. Allow users to create a shortcut for a paragraph style including "apply next style"

   You can add a shortcut to each paragraph style. If you apply it to several paragraphs they will all be in this style although you may have insert a "next style" to apply.
   So it would be great to have the opportunity for 2 shortcuts:
   – the way it's used to be
   – for applying the style plus next style

3. Export all data from the Links folder to Excel/.csv format

   Please, please, please make the entire Links panel exportable to an Excel (or .csv) file. I just spent five hours capturing all information for hundreds of placed images ONE AT A TIME. How nice it would be to be able to export the entire contents of the Links panel with one click. I know that it is do-able.

4. Please include "Convert Shape" in the Object Style Options

   I'd like to quickly convert my rectangular photos into circular photos. On top of that, I want the circular photos to have a circular text wrap that works.

   Currently the work-around is to change the Corner Options to create rounded corners big enough to become a circle shape, but then the text wrap (Wrap around Object Shape mode) is still wrapping around the 90 degree bounding box.

5. PDF progress

   Hi When exporting to PDF, would it be possible in the next available version to put a percentage figure in the top left of the toolbar (next the the pdf bars). This would save having to open the background panel to see the progress of the PDF creation. Thanks from an inpatient designer. H

6. Recent document list remembers templates

   The recent documents feature (File > Open Recent > [list of recent files]) seems to be based on files saved, not files opened. If I open a template if does not get added to the recent files. I might open the same template five times a day, but it never appears in the Open Recent list. This should be corrected or an option to include recent templates added in Preferences > File Handling. See example.

7. Make it possible to use ParaNumOnly in InDesign cross-reference

   When cross-referencing I would like to be able to use ParaNumOnly, like in FrameMaker. In Danish, and probably other languages, the reference to e.g. "Figure 1" mid sentence should be lower case - "see figure 1" even though I am cross referencing Figure 1. ParaNumOnly would make it possible for me to only cross reference the number and control whether the case in "figure" should be upper or lower.

8. Please add an interactive box for images + option to set font color for interactive text boxes

   I recently started to make interactive PDF forms in InDesign (which is a great tool!), but I was surprised to find out that:

   1. you cannot add an interactive box for images
   2. you cannot set color to the assigned font in interactive text boxes...

   Seems like some basic functions like this are still missing in InDesign, so it would be greatly appreciated if you could add it to your to-do list.

10. Default text box to "Formatting Affects Text" rather than "Formatting Affects Container".

    If a Text box uses all the same color of text within, upon direct selecting the box it should default to an active "Formatting Affects Text" rather than "Formatting Affects Container". Or give me the option to make this the default in Preferences. Pressing (J) before each and every swatch click to trigger this formatting is tedious and unnecessary.

11. Color-code GREP styles

    Hello, InDesign team.

    Please consider allowing users to assign a color to each GREP style, which would be applied as a highlight to text affected by the style. The highlight would, of course, be on-screen only, like the existing highlights for composition problems etc. This would be a quick way to ensure that the style is matching the correct text, without doing what I do now (which is to manually add a color highlight into the definition of each GREP style and then remove them later). Especially helpful for GREP styles whose effect is subtle. Characters affected by multiple GREP styles would either display a multicolored highlight (?) or show the color of the last style applied, reflecting the order of the GREP styles.

12. Increase offset marks higher than 25,4 mm.

    I'm creating prints for many kinds of POS materials, where bleeds are often around 100 mm and more, and I need offset to be same as bleeds.
    Same with Illustrator.

13. Increment Settings for Tracking/Kerning Applied to Control Panel Interface

    Idea referenced in the link below.

    This idea is already implemented in the preferences menu under Units & Increments but it's only applied to keyboard shortcuts. I don't see why this setting wouldn't be included for the tracking and kerning settings in the control panel. As mentioned in the link, needing to let go of the mouse just to adjust tracking is a nuisance.

    I never increase tracking by 10 when typesetting to adjust for the rag of a text block. Having the increments hard set to 10 effectively makes the control panel useless to me when typesetting. Oddly this isn't an issue in Illustrator, where values increase by one, the program where I ironically would be more likely to use more artistic license with text spacing.

14. Automatic image link if the Links folder is in the same folder as the document.

    InDesign should automatically find images if the Links folder is in the same folder as the document. The old InDesign was able to do this. I'm constantly having to update links when the folder is moved around, and this also means re-saving the file, which changes the modification date.

15. INDESIGN EPUB REFLOWABLE not exporting spaces between pages and text

    ERROR/BUG INDESIGN EPUB REFLOWABLE:

    There is an error that the reflowable EPUB does not export the spaces between pages and texts.
    This implies that you must go to other software to do so.

16. next page doesn't work

    Hi there,

    When inserting Type=>Special Characters=>Marker=>Next page InDesign inserts the CM marker which is the current page. Consequently where I need the next page number to appear it displays the current page number.

    The text frame containing the Next Page Number Marker has to just touch the text frame and the correct page number gets picked. No need to link the text frames together. Just the fact that it touches the text frame will make it automatically pick the correct next page number that the text flows to in the document.

17. Could you please add support for 3dconnexion space mouse?

    Could you please add support for 3dconnexion space mouse? It would be great to use their mouse for paning, zooming and scrolling.
    I've contacted the people behind 3dconnexion and they told me that support for an application (Indesign) is determined by the application developer rather than by 3dconnexion. They have an SDK which you could use to integrate support for the space mouse in Indesign.

18. Provide a resolution option for indesign

    When I export an image as a jpeg in InDesign and select anything above 72 dpi, I end up with a larger jpeg. This seems to correlate with the ppi, so my original 1612 x 640 would end up as 2149 x 853 with 96 dpi, 8463 x 3360 with 150 dpi and so on. It is very inconvenient because I need my files to be exactly the same size as when I started, but with a higher resolution than 72ppi. It would be awesome and save me time if you could provide an resolution option for indesign that we could change at the start so the files sizes don't change when you want to export them. Thanks!

    There shod be an option (in all of the Adobe programs) to have align around a circle and to be able to distribute the objects evenly around a circle (or other shape for that matter)
