Remember the view pages preference (alternate layout/vert/horiz) for documents
I go back and forth a lot working with documents with alternate layouts and those without. It would be helpful if the page view preference is saved along with the document instead of switching back and forth manually.

Spelling & Grammer included in Preflight Report
Would it be possible to enhance the prelight report features to include spelling & grammar checks so you could go through the report with page numbers references instead of having to click through each misspelt word individually .... for long documents this is a real problem as a lot of the instances of acronyms and named places currently get picked up which are not actually misspelt words ...
Currently, this can be achieved with purchase of plugin suite from Mindstream - http://www.mindsteam.com/products/mindsuitepro/index.html

Drag text to library and create a link
When I drag
n
drop a text to the library-panel there is is NO link betrween the textframe and the library-item.
I have to delet the textframe and drag´n´dop it back to the document to create a link.Is that smart?
I wish I could drag a text to the library and create a link in one step.

I enter a date i.e. through date picker, ID handles displayed output
I am running into the same problem for years: In program brochures spanning a whole year with 200+ events and multiple references throughout the brochure, clients provide wrong information (i. e. wrong day of the week for a specific date or a wrong year).
How about this: In a text frame or table cell, I could have a date picker or I´d write down every date in the same format, say like this: [DD.MM.YYYY] (since I am in Germany that would be my local format). Through magic/witch craft, InDesign would recognize the variable as a date and handle it according…

Properties Panel - missing "vertical justification"-buttons "top", "center", "bottom", "justify"
Indesign CC 2019 (oct)
The old control panel had buttons for the textframe options "vertical justification": "top", "center", "bottom", "justify". I need them accessible in the new properties panel ... one-click. I am too lazy for option-doubleclick or CTRL-b.
Thanks.

Please add Units/increments within File>Document Setup...
Please add Units/increments within File>Document Setup...
So a user can easily change a document's units without changing the application preferences. The way it is now is confusing4 votes -
Export of all opened documents
Please make it possible to export all opened InDesign documents at the same time. You can also use the same export defaults.

Relative paths to external files
My goal is to do all the layout and linking in indesign then do an export to a PDF with hyperlinks. The PDF and all the external linked files will then be distributed to other computers via USB-stick or CD.
The links has to be relative for this to work and I would like to have that option in the hyperlinks pod/panel or when doing a PDF (or HTML export).
I have been waiting 10 years for this feature - I cant understand why it has not been implemented searching the internet. it must be a clear usecase for indesign.4 votes -

Allow the cursor to change from black to red, or any colour in spectrum (colour blind)
Create a colour cursor option to change colour from black to red/green/blue/etc. I find extremely difficult to follow the black cursor in InDesign as it competes with the various Application Frames./dropdown menus.

Recent Files pane usability problems.
The Recents Pane has serious problems for InDesign Book users. There are two main problems:
- Not enough Recent files are listed.
The limited number of recent files results in ONE project taking over ALL the recent files every time you make an adjustment to the book, because EVERY CHAPTER becomes a recent file. In my books, there are often more chapters than allowed in Recents, so it's not even useful as a way to access chapters (which obviously is best done with the Book panel).
- There is no way to manage Recents.
Realistically, there is NO reason one would want…

Linked Docs: Seeing where the children of a linked item is from the parent document
File A is linked to B, C, D, and E (the children)
I want to see that information while looking at file A (the parent).Currently, we can only see the link path when the child is selected.
Example: I have used the content placer to link a block of text into 4 documents. I want to see which 4 documents that block of text is linked to while in the parent document. That way I can quickly navigate to those 4 documents rather than searching through hundreds to sync up any updates later.

Place > (Show Import Options)
I use this feature daily and would so prefer to use my keyboard arrow keys to cycle through the image thumbnails than the tiny dialogue box arrows.

Adobe's Collaborate should alert user when someone else is viewing/ editing the file
InDesign Files shared with team members through Adobe's Collaborate features do not alert users when someone else is viewing/ editing a file. Instead, conflicted copies are created.
A team member opening a file someone else is viewing / editing should see an alert to avoid the creation of conflicting copies / improve collaboration.
Without this, our team is unlikely to use Adobe's Collaborate feature.

Hyphenation of compound words must take precedence over hyphenation
Currently, in Indesign in german language "st" is always hyphenated. In my work, however, there are many compound words in which the "st" is at the beginning or end of the word and therefore the hyphenation of a compounded word must occur before or after the "st" instead of between "s" and "t".
Example:
"Führerstand", compunded of the words "Führer" and "Stand"Expected hyphenation:
Führer-standWrong InDesign hyphenation:

Generated captions match FULL IPTC from Photoshop
Hi.
I’m trying to get those lines from Stock images I buy :
<photoshop:Credit>byheaven - stock.adobe.com/photoshop:Credit <photoshop:Source>93738394/photoshop:SourceI found no way to do that in inDesign with the current caption tool.
But what became funny was comparing Photoshop’s RAW DATA info :
<pur:creditLine>
<rdf:Bag>
<rdf:li>byheaven - stock.adobe.com/rdf:li
/rdf:Bag
/pur:creditLinewith what inDesign gets me as XMP info :
