  1. Decide what folder that will be synced in creative cloud

Since we can have really big data storage in the creative cloud today I miss the function to choose what folders/projects I need on my local device that has less amount of storage than my cloud license. So I suggest a function Microsoft OneDrive have like "free up space" that removes the local copy. Most cooperate computers don have 1Tb disks so today with shared folders you can fill your disk quick and you cant control it in a good way.

  2. Full-width space is treated the same as Kanji

I've been using InDesign in a Japanese environment and have long been frustrated by the lack of distinction between kanji and double-byte spaces.
When you want to select consecutive Kanji by double-clicking (or command + → etc.), adjacent double-byte spaces (0x3000) will be selected together.
When you receive an unsatisfactory text manuscript, double-clicking a wasted double-byte space will select the adjacent kanji together.
I can't imagine the single benefit of this specification. It's just inconvenient.
I would like you to improve this.
I hope you will get the approval of everyone. Thank you.

    美しくないテキスト原稿を受け取ったとき、無駄な全角スペースをダブルクリックすると隣接する漢字まで一緒に選択されてしまう。
    この仕様について、ただ1つのメリットも想像できません。ただ不便なだけです。…

  3. Table border selection

When adjusting specific table border edges, targeting particular edges would be made faster if you could option-click on a line to select that line only and de-select all the other edges.

Currently you have de-select all the other edges individually.

  4. No option to hide the Application Bar in 2020

I noticed in 2020 there is no longer the menu option under the Window menu to hide the Application Bar. I'm not sure why this was removed, for people who don't use it it's just in the way and unnecessary especially when you're trying to use InDesign on a small screen, every inch of screen space counts. Im sure there are people out there that use it, and that's great, I'm sure they find it useful in someway, but we all use the application differently so please allow us the ability to turn it on and off.

  5. Auto resize table when adding/removing column

Toggle an option so that when adding or removing a column in a table the column widths are restored to the total width. Now when adding or removing a column i have to manualy resize the columns until i can use 'Distribute Columns Evenly' and fill up the entire textbox again.

It also would be useful to just click 'auto resize' to equaly fill up the textbox by resizing the table.

  6. Print Booklet needs to support booklets with more than 4-up, e.g., up to 6-up

Print Booklet needs to support booklets with more than 4-up, e.g., up to 6-up.
The team I am part of produces many z-fold documents in excess of 4-up, often 5-up or 6-up. We need the functionality in Print Booklet to support that. The existing maximum 4-up just isn't enough/

  7. RTL support in Adobe Composer (not Adobe World-Ready Composer)

Adobe's Ready World Composer is designed to provide a solution for RTL languages, such as Hebrew and Arabic. But lots of InDesign features don't work at all. (OpenType by Frame, Flush Space, Optical Margin Aligment and more ...)
Instead of fixing this composer, I suggest that the regular composer also will support RTL writing.

  9. PDF progress

Hi When exporting to PDF, would it be possible in the next available version to put a percentage figure in the top left of the toolbar (next the the pdf bars). This would save having to open the background panel to see the progress of the PDF creation. Thanks from an inpatient designer. H

  10. Import PDF comments in InCopy

If we're using a workflow that includes stories in InCopy, it'd be great if our editors/writers can manage the edits/markups to their content through InCopy so they can truly own the content (and prevent the back and forth of review/edits with designers and writers after a document has been reviewed).

  12. How about not changing shortcuts

Stop messing with our workflow and productivity
Bloody frustrating when you change standard keyboard shortcuts like spacebar = hand grab and spacebar command= zoom just to name a few.

  13. Thesaurus

    Hi
I have just spent 1.5 hours on a chat with your team re using a thesaurus function in InDesign (which there isn't one)
In design is a great product and amazingly intuitive with (almost) all the functions you need to create great documents however to use a simple function like a thesaurus I need to export to a .icml thingy which creates individual files for every chapter or section (filling up my files). Then you have to open each section individually in InCopy, which then creates a document that looks more like a 80' dot-matrix print out with no…

  14. Make an option for "freezing" document window during searches

Currently, when executing a series of finds, a document with spreads will jump around within a window, even if view is set to "fit spread in window," as described in this post:

    https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign/searching-a-file-in-indesign-causes-the-spread-to-jump-all-over-the-place/m-p/11118210?page=1#M185629

The expected behavior is that the page where the text is found should be centered on the page. That does not work with spreads. If panels are open on the side of the window, found text can frequently be hidden from view.

So I believe there is a bug with the expected behavior. But it would be even better than the expected behavior if there were a…

  15. Allow for setting or synchronizing book-wide footnote/endnote options

Right now footnote/endnote options are set on the document level. There should be an option so that the options can either be set on the book level or can be part of the style source sychronization set.

As it is, if I don't create a template that already has my preferred footnote/endnote settings set, I have to individually make those settings for each chapter in a book.

  17. Recent document list remembers templates

The recent documents feature (File > Open Recent > [list of recent files]) seems to be based on files saved, not files opened. If I open a template if does not get added to the recent files. I might open the same template five times a day, but it never appears in the Open Recent list. This should be corrected or an option to include recent templates added in Preferences > File Handling. See example.

  18. PDF comments: Import, respect, and filter against comment colors in InDesign

Please make all of this available in InDesign:

    – Show the comment colored in InDesign as it is in Acrobat.

    – Let us filter against comment color in InDesign as it is possible in Acrobat.

By default Acrobat comments use different colors. Furthermore the Acrobat user can choose any color for a specific comment or redefine the color for a comment type as he likes to.
In Acrobat I can even filter all comments by comment color.
This is quite useful, as it gives the user a good way to distinguish e.g. between typo corrections, grammatical corrections, and other types.…

  19. FORM - COMB, order, styles

Primarily, for me, is the painstaking task of setting "comb of" characters, and even worse setting the right tab order.

Panel for setting tab order in InDesign, under Object>Interactive is horrible. It is too small, height-wise, and does not function well all the time. Often it happens to "jump". I get nr. 47 after 46, but it jumps before 46.

I sometimes have over 70 form fields to sort on a single page and it is taking too much time and patience to set it right.

If you could work on that tab order panel, make it larger, and give…

  20. Brushes

It would be great to be able to import Illustrator brushes in that can be used to style Frame Borders in the same way you can use it as stroke styles in Illustrator. InDesign is woefully behind in allowing procedural design.
